I was disappointed to find out that on this model, the controls were on the top; making it impossible to use when mounted directly under the t.v.

The sound quality is not quite as good as my previous Bose speakers but my new TV did not have the proper audio jack to allow reusing the Bose system.

But a good sound overall Vizio sells a 5.1 with rear surround that's always sold out for 199.00 and I recommend that unit. Bestbuy sells it.

The one complaint I have is that the device goes to sleep after a few minutes of inactivity and must be powered back on before the TV will recognize it.

If you TV has an ARC connection, I highly recommend. It's not "Theater sound" but a big upgrade over the TV.

The bass is a nice improvement though. Unfortunately my 75” Samsung TV cannot Wireless connect to the speakers and is connected via the Optical connection. The sound bar does connect to the Woofer via Bluetooth but here’s the thing. When I mirror my IPAD to the TV, it skips sound wise, From what I can figure it is getting interference from the Bluetooth woofer, because it never happens when just using the TV speakers alone.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-T550 featuring Smart Sound technology that auto-detects what you are watching and adjusts settings for the best experience. I'm sorry to see that you are not completely happy with performance.
To optimize your audio experience, please try the various sound modes this model offers. Press the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select your desired sound effect: STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, SMART, or DTS VIRTUAL:X.
You can further adjust TREBLE and BASS via the SOUND CONTROL button (looks like a gear symbol).
I am also sorry to hear that you are experiencing connection issues.
If the audio from the wireless subwoofer is dropping out intermittently there are a few things to check before performing any troubleshooting:
1) The maximum wireless signal transmission distance is about 33 ft.
2) If there is a wall between the sound bar and the subwoofer it may cause interference or not work at all depending on the material in the wall.
3) If there is a device that uses the same wireless frequency (2.4 GHz) near the Soundbar, interference may cause some sound interruption.
4) Check all of the sources on the soundbar. If the audio is dropping while watching TV it could be an issue with the broadcast.
5) Also, please be sure you have the latest firmware update, ver 1004.0. You can update your firmware by using a USB device. You can find the update on the product page of your HW-T550 on the Samsung website.
