It is extremely loud and has different noises depending on which function I choose. Have tried to decide what it sounds like maybe a washer out of balance, a car reviving the motor, a grinder or a rattle. It is rather annoying. Our last Samsung microwave lasted 20 yrs and had a normal sound to it. Very much doubt this one will last even the average life. If I knew that it sounded this loud I would have never purchased it. Very disappointed. No I do not recommend it

Consistently Questionable Brand for Microwaves

But, the handle broke a few months after which created a safety issue. Then just over a year of owning and operating, the control panel shorted and have to repair. Our previous purchase of a similar Samsung developed operating issues with the control panel which included safety issues as well. Unfortunately, we are very close to losing interest in purchasing another Samsung microwave for two main reasons. Reliability and safety.
