So overall this is a great fridge for my family (our family size is 4 and we do stock up). The ability to organize and not have to dig is very nice. Shelves while fixed, do fit everything we buy. Don't worry about it not listing a deli drawer, we just use the top of the three doors that labeled fruits and vegetables, no problem with condensation or spoilage here. Love the dual evaporators food definitely keeps fresher longer. It barely runs, but when it does its super quite. Freezer has zero ice build up and stays clean easily. Kids & parents both love the show case to get quick drinks and condiments. Using a thermometer the temperature was the same on the door, as the back thanks to the metal cooling feature that actually cools from the door. Cream and dairy have not spoiled or got too warm on the door (showcase side). I had a hard time finding out whether you had to use the ice maker or not. Once I bought it, yes you can!. In the manual it states you can turn off the valve (yours not on the refrigerator) for the water line for extended periods, even recommended if you go on vacation. We had to do this since we are remodeling and needed a temporary location. The fridge has a very low space profile, had such a hard time finding a fridge that didn't stick out, especially so many have handles that stick out, with the handles built into the door it's perfect for are galley kitchen. Ok so everything has some sort of downfall, with the low profile comes a narrow freezer, don't expect to stack regular size frozen pizzas, if you need to put one in your gonna have to angle it and take up a whole shelf. It's not a problem here we never buy frozen, we only do take and bake, order out or homemade. One last thing, ours is stainless steel (sides aren't by the way) and the handle area needs to be cleaned frequently, we use stainless steel wipes. Its something we our use to, so again not a problem. Highly recommend , especially for small kitchens.

Love the counter depth size. But.... I read many reveiws stating how big it is. Here is my opinion based on a gamily of three. This counter depth design will work if you do not gave an abundance of food typically. Which means if you shop every week or two you will be fine. If your the type to go to sans club or costco to buy bulk for a once a month shop or even a three week shop and your buying multiple meals and ingredients thst take up room then this is not for you. Simply because it is not designed for this type of food storage unless your stacking and oacking it in where you have to unpack just to get an item out. Even though there is plenty of room for a one, two, three person stock of items and typical milk, meat, vegi’s , yogurts, condiments, juices ect., it is a refrigerator that once I shopped for a couple week load I felt thst I was just about full of space. Remember, this has nothing to do with the brand, it is the “ counter depth design” and what it is meant for. If you want a refridgerator that sticks out from 6” up to a 12” less then a standard unit and even though has less room then the largest 24-26 cu units and you shop every 2 weeks and then this is for you. If your a family of plus 4 and like the membership bulk buys then this most likely will be tight. Lastly, I had this unit a couple month’s with no operating issues. The quality is typicsl Samsung ( great ) I read a lot of ice naker issues on the french door models , mine is a side by side model called the “show case.” But no issues this early on seen or read for this unit. I would for sure recommend this unit if you want a normal small family size unit that saves space by not sticking out in the room, that is top notch quality. Side notes; Unit is stainless do finger prints is common. Show case door is great since grabbing condiments, juice, soda’s snacks are done without openning main refrigde door .

    A show-stopper of a fridge!

This Samsung showcase refrigerator is just supreme. I had originally ordered a Whirlpool side-by-side with NO dispensers in the door, as those are prone to malfunctions, etc. But I realized that my small kitchen really needed a counter-depth fridge, and when the Best Buy salesman showed me this showcase model on the floor . . . that's all she wrote. With the sale price at the time, this beauty was only about $400 more than more basic, quality side-by-sides, so I went for it. And I am so glad! The outer / showcase door is a brilliant design stroke and makes getting drinks and other often-used items a cinch; there are even two frequent-use drawers! Then, when you want to get to deeper storage or less frequently accessed items, just open the inner door. The only drawback here is that the 2 doors together weigh quite a bit more than a standard door and sometimes you have to take care not to just let it slam shut. Although this is a counter-depth fridge, there doesn't seem to be any loss of storage space -- very generous, many drawers on both fridge and freezer sides, etc. The lack of attached handles also buys you more space (and nothing to get loose later). So far, the icemaker and door dispensers have worked like a charm. Another bonus is that the stainless surfaces resist marks and are easy to keep clean. Finally, this is one QUIET fridge; except for the occasional icemaker sound . . . you'd never know it was on. Right now (Memorial Day weekend 2015) this fridge is on sale for even less than I paid -- BUY ONE NOW would be my heartfelt recommendation!

I bought this back in May 2015 as part of a kitchen remodel. We liked the looks of the unit and size (counter-depth). All worked well until 1.5 years after purchase when the open door alarm began to go off very often. The door is not sealing tight with a normal push to close and one has always had to make a second push to close it tight. If not, the temperature inside would raise and the alarm (if on) would go off. I contacted Samsung to address the issues and their technician showed up and had no solution or offered possible causes. I had to pay the guy to show us and check on the unit. This is an ongoing nuisance. A second issue came up recently (3.5 years since purchase) when water dispenser slowly failed to provide water. I contacted Samsung again and their initial response was to contact a plumber to check water supply to the unit. I did that and found water supply and pressure were ok. I contacted Samsung again and it was a struggle for them to agree to send a Service Technician to check the refrigerator (which I will have to pay as it is out of warranty). In general, the unit looks good. On the limited size of things, space distribution is not ideal. Luckily, we kept our older LG refrigerator in the garage. That has provided extra storage. Samsung customer care and product warranty are not good, so I suggest getting the extended warranty.

I have only had the refrigerator since Monday (1/11), however I could not be happier with not only the Samsung product but with every facet of the sales process with BestBuy. This incudes the initial sale (Salesperson - Robert), email and phone confirmations of the delivery instructions (delivery within three days of sale), and the delivery team. BestBuy stood by their price match guarantee and included free delivery and free haul away of my old fridge. They gave me a two hour window and were prompt in delivering inside that window. When does that happen anymore? Chris and Carlos were courteous and took great care when inside my home. We noted a small scratch on the fridge and BestBuy was prompt (within an hour) to offer a new fridge or gift card. A special thanks to Chris and Carlos. As for the refrigerator, Samsung has thought this one through. The Showcase door is a winner. Most of my common, daily needs are easily accessed through the Showcase door. Temperatures are constant in both the fridge and freezer. The counter depth is ideal for my kitchen, but still allows more than adequate space for my use. The Showcase shelves can handle most any size container and allows me to better organize my shelves. The flexible dividers are a nice touch. I have not yet witnessed any of the nagging concerns of others, however I realize my experience is only for two days. I will make a note to review this further after a reasonable amount of time. But, if you want an initial Five Star Buy rating; you got it from me. Also, if I buy another appliance, BestBuy will be my #1 stop. Note: contrary to an earlier review, the dual handle access to the fridge and Showcase is no problem and you become familiar with them in no time at all.

After looking at Fridgadaire, LG and Samsung brands we chose this Samsung. The household consists of my husband and I. I cook 5-7 nights a week. Reviews of this refrigerator are spot on. We have had this refrig for 3 days. It runs quietly. We have a Great Room/ Kitchen combination. The only way you know it is operating is when the ice falls into the ice bin. The stainless steel finish doesn't show fingerprints easily and what does is easily removed with damp cloth and wipe dry. We were told to wipe with the up/down grain. We have to adjust how we open the doors as there are no thru handles. I open the refrig with my left hand and the freezer with my right hand. I am right handed. I have adjusted to opening the showcase door vs the main door rather easily. I am still adjusting what to put in the showcase/door compartments. We buy lots of fruits and vegetables and have room for them. The bottom drawer we use for hard cheese, sandwich meat. I have to look closer at this drawer's temp adjustment. The freezer has enough space for the meat I buy on sale and freeze; chix, beef, seafood, pork. Also room in door for frozen juices, and husband's beer glasses. The only problem we had with this product was at delivery. When it was plugged in the delivery man got a electrical shock. The compressor started and they put the temp to quick freeze and cold for the refrig. They removed all the plastic protection from the unit, hooked up the water and rolled the unit in place. They gave us verbal information and left. By this time however the refrig side temp stayed at 71 degrees and the quick freezer side was dropping. It took about 2 hours for the refrig to respond to the quick cool command. All is working great and I am happy with purchase

We are a family of 3 with a four year old who is constantly looking for juice and/or a snack. We needed a counter depth fridge that could satisfy the needs of easily handling adult beverages while catering to our little man's wants. This refrigerator satisfies all of us happily. The youngin' grabs his snacks without pestering us and we get to use door shelves that are usually forsaken to the dredges of expired condiments. It does take a little getting used to, but within days one can adapt to using the easy-open outer door instead of looking at the entirety of the fridge. The water dispenser shoots water plenty fast while the ice maker has kept-up with a 30-person party just fine. Our energy auditors (for off-grid solar power) scoffed at the efficiency of the unit, but we sacrificed a few energy-efficient dollars for versatility (and energy auditors are a little too "efficient"). I have had a few occasions where I wish there was slightly more refrigeration space, but it does force better practices for food management. At the end of the day this refrigerator offers the convenience that fits our family's needs/wants.

Overall, I am pleased with the refrigerator. However, we were disappointed with the install. We could not get the refrigerator leveled. The delivery/install guys kept telling me my floor must be crooked, the wall must be crooked or the surrounding cabinet was crooked. No, it was none of those. We didn't have a problem with our old fridge. I called and complained that they left it tilting way back on the top. The door would slam and it looked terrible. They were going to "escalate" the call to the warehouse. After 36 hrs. of not getting a call, I contacted BB again. They offered to send a new fridge. When that arrived, those delivery guys wouldn't even take it off the truck because they said we would have the same problem and proceeded to tell me the floor must be crooked. It's not. I read in the book that this model does not have rear levelers in the back and you might have to put it up on shims. I advised the installers and they said that wasn't their job and they left. What? I again called BB and they were going to "escalate" the complaint to the drivers and have them return to do the install. I told her they said it wasn't their job, but was told the management would instruct them to do it. Three hours later, I still had heard nothing. How do you "escalate" a call and then don't hear from them? Long story long, we had to do it ourselves until we got it right because we couldn't wait any longer for anyone to help us. As for the fridge itself, we are pleased with it. It works just fine and looks good!

I like to read negative reviews on products just as much as positive so that I know more or less what I am purchasing. Some of the negative reviews said it had bad tasting water/ice, noisy, doesn’t make enough ice, etc and although this had a pretty good rating it almost made me hesitate from buying. BUT, we purchased anyway and all the bad reviews were right! So why am I giving it 5 stars? That’s because if you don’t follow the instructions of clearing the water lines and disgarding a few batches of ice, you will get bad tasting water/ice. It’s noisy for the first evening (I guess it’s settling in) but for three weeks straight of having the product, it is quite as can be. Ice maker works great and makes more than enough. It’s sleek and its non-overly huge design fits well in my kitchen (doesn’t take up too much space). The showcase door makes it extremely easy to get what you need on the run - plus I have noticed that food is staying fresh for longer periods. I guess because the temperature doesn’t rise as often due to the showcase door. Overall, my wife is happy so I am happy too (great buy)!

Let me get a few peeves out of the way. The water filter needs to be changed about every 6 months for about $20. There's an almost 3 second delay when hitting the ice button to actually getting ice, crushed or cubed. Someone new at the house isn't going to be sure they hit the right button. Have no need or care for the wi-fi/internet connectivity. That being said, we really like the look and the capacity. I like that the ice is inside the door, freeing up freezer space (tho we have a full size freezer in garage). And we definitely like the 'two front door' design where you can have quick access to a 'front and back' of the opening door. Guests find it 'cool'. So it has a little 'wow' factor which is fun. It's been more than two years now and it's been reliable. Other than a few minor peeves I think it's solid but I hate to just give out 5 star ratings when I feel a bit wanting (the ice delay and filter maintenance). And you do have to be a bit careful about the double front door in terms of closing properly.

I was hesitant because I had a whirlpool that I have had for 26 years that still works, but I decided to purchase all new appliances. I have had great luck with Samsung TV's so I decided to give Samsung appliances a try. This refrigerator is awesome. I love the food showcase so that you do not have to open the main door to get to the items you use frequently like milk, juice, cheese, ketchup, mustard, mayo and snacks. The seals on the doors are amazing. Takes a little muscle to open the main doors but it also makes the unit more energy efficient. It has lots of room in both the refrigerator and freezer and I love the black steel fingerprint proof finish. The only thing It doesn't have that my old refrigerator had was moisture control setting, I miss that. I have only had this product for a month so I can't speak of the longevity of this product but so far I am in love with this refrigerator. I recently spoke with a friend who has the same refrigerator and they love theirs too and they have had theirs for a few months.

This was an exchange for a very, very noisy GE French door fridge (a loud continuously humming buzz). Thanks to Best Buy for their great exchange policy (it took awhile because of the holiday season but it got done)! There was also something wrong with the GE ice tub door not being easily opened - turns out the seal around the door was defective and ice formed causing the door to freeze shut). Anyway, we've only had this fridge 2 days but so far love it. Fairly quiet (occasional soft white noise - not bothersome) and attractive. I was worried after reading a few reviews mentioning noise that I would have the same problem as the GE but absolutely not. The only loud noise is when the ice drops and that's expected so not a problem for us. It isn't a big fridge being counter-depth but perfect for a small family household. We spent hours & hours reading brand/model reviews both on Best Buy and on-line, and it's enough to make you want to eat out and not buy any brand. But all I can say is we're very happy with this Samsung! (We did purchase Best Buy's extended warranty to be on the safe side in case of any future problems.)

    RefrigeratorResearcher

I researched refrigerators thoroughly before purchase. None are perfect, but I thought this one would be fine. It had a high rating, was very quiet, and generally buyers seemed happy with it. It was delivered on a Saturday, one day late. About an hour after the delivery men left, it started a noise that sounded like we had an airplane or a semi parked in our driveway. The noise was very low decibel with a lot of vibration. It was worse when a door of the refrigerator was opened. I was not able to sleep while the unit was operating, it was that loud. Best Buy agreed to exchange the unit which has not yet happened. Second issue is that though we have followed the instructions concerning the water and ice in the door (discarding 2 containers of ice, flushing water through the line for 6 minutes)--both water and ice have a horrible chemical taste. There is no sense to pay for the ice and water in the door feature if they taste this bad. No one wants to use it! Third issue is that the refrigerator itself seems to list to the freezer side. It leans about 3/4 inch from top to bottom. Leveling is possible in the front feet, but the instructions say to use pieces of wood to level in the back. The leveling feature does not help this leaning tower. Stay tuned for a report to see if refrigerator #2 is loud, leans to the side, or has bad tasting water.

I don't know if i got a LEMON! but this was sold to me as being great for tight spaces. This refrigerator not only is hitting the wall leaving big scratches on the door of the freezer ,Also it is pulled 7 inches from the back of the wall.I should not have to lose 7 inches of space,I would have purchased a bigger Refrigerator in that case. I'm also having problems with the ice maker, when ice gets stuck in the chamber it melts and puts water all over the floor. I had a cheap Frigidaire for 13 years before this one. I never had any problems with it. Also the door is heavy,so you can't put a lot on it. If i could return it,I would in a heart beat!! For $2500,what a waste of money!! Also the shelves are short,so you don't have room for a pizza or a case of soft drinks.Don't buy this one, research ,as i thought i did. And don't believe sales rep, they will tell you anything to make the sale. I hope some one from Samsung see's this post and sends a rep to my house to make this right,Best Buy says they can't anything because its over 30 days. I also bought the 5 year warranty. You will need it!

I wanted a side-by-side and did a lot of research on the options. I like the Samsung brand, so was happy to find this one with the features I wanted. We've only had it a couple of weeks, but so far so good! I didn't know if I'd like the showcase door and it has taken some getting use to, but now I like it. Easy to just grab some milk, pop, or butter. Some people complained about the water and ice dispensers, but we've had no issues. Some also complained about noise, but ours is very quiet. I've never noticed any noise except now and then when the ice drops, but all our fridges have done that. Only two minor complaints: 1) not as much lighting as I would like. When its loaded the middle can be a bit dark. But the LED lighting is nice. 2) Not enough shelf options. Annoying that you're pretty much stuck with the stock configuration. Service and delivery with Best Buy has been fantastic!! Delivery guys were very careful and friendly.

Love this fridge. The double dual door in the refrigerator side is great with the outer door being very lightweight . I thought this might be a gimmick but after using it for a couple weeks, I couldn't imagine Not having this. Very convenient for getting the most frequently accessed items (soda, water bottles, butter, etc) without opening a heavy door and heating up the fridge. Ice maker works very well unlike many others which do not make a decent volume. I had a french door one before this and it produced very little ice. I am amazed at how fast this can produce cubes. My only issue with this, if I were designing the perfect fridge, would be that the doors not make the fridge wider when fully open. This is a counter depth fridge which is intended to provide a more "built in" look, so why would you design hinges that, when fully open, make the fridge wider than the opening it is going in. I have to be careful otherwise the door would hit the counter tops on the side and possibly dent the door panel. Hinges should be re-designed so that they turn inward or outward when opening them so that you don't run the risk of denting the panels. Other than that, this would have been 5 stars if the door hinges were better designed.

Fridge appears well constructed (though I've had problems with other Samsung models in recent years-- ice maker died 1 week out of warranty, LED display and controls blanked out... regularly, etc.), but after a month, we haven't yet experienced any problems of note. As for design, the outer door thing for the refrigerator side is both a silly gadget (can't we all just open the regular fridge door when we want something?), but it's also counter-intuitive. The natural position of the hand when you want to open a fridge door is just like you'd be shaking a person's hand-- extended forward perpendicular to the body. For a 6' tall person, that's about 42" high. However, if you put your hand at this level and try to open the door, all you get is the silly outer door to open. If you want something from the real fridge, you need to raise your hand to at least 52" in the air just to engage the "open the real fridge door" mechanism (yes, well over 4' high... that may not seem like much, but just mimic the movement and you'll see that it's ridiculously unnatural, and shorter people are practically high-fiving at that point). Anything lower and all you get is access to the butter, mustard, and all that other garbage you store in your fridge door. The mechanism should have been exactly opposite... NORMAL reach for normal access, exaggerated reach for special access. That's the most basic human factors/ergonomics rule there is... and Samsung got it wrong.

What drew us to this particular model at first was its Energy Star rating and Showcase door. We weren't sure how practical the showcase door would be in our household, but after a month of use I can honestly say it is a useful feature if you often have to reach for small items like bottled water or butter or yogurts. Instead of opening the whole door, you can open the lighter/slimmer showcase door and reach in for your food item without letting most of the cool air escape. The bright LED lighting is great, and though we had reservations about the puny sounding 22 cubic feet of space, we manage to pack in a week's worth of food in both the refrigerator and freezer halves of the fridge and still have some unused shelf space. We are a family of five and the approximate 22 cu. ft. is enough. Some of the food items are condiments like ketchup which sit in the fridge more than a week. Another nice design feature: No protruding handles! Seems like all refrigerators have handles no matter how expensive they are, but this model's thin edge door handle design (you pull them out from the edge of each door) really gives the impression that the fridge occupies less space in the kitchen.

This is the highest spec counter depth frig available IMO. This frig has a variable speed compressor, and environmental monitors inside & outside the frig. These result in a very tight hold on inside temps, a very quiet machine, and low power use. The WiFi phone App (Android or Apple) works and shows power used and compares to past months. The App can control some frig functions, but I wish it showed and tracked inside temps. The App is for local use only. The only noise I hear from the frig is when the ice maker dumps a load of ice (ice falling). Once the ice holder partially fills even this gets quiet. All materials are high quality. It has plenty of access and storage options. Water and ice "in door" work as expected. Control panel on door is easy to use. I'm an engineer and I'm impressed.

My wife and I didn't have a lot of choices since we needed a counter depth refrigerator. Out of all the choices we did have the positive reviews we read pushed us to buy this state of the art refrigerator. It is way more than we needed to spend but after the first 4 days of using it we are pleased with our decision. If you buy this one follow the directions. We used the quick cool settings on both sides and the first ice dumped in about 2 hours. I would have given this a 5 star but here are a couple of things that kept me from doing so. there should be adjustable shelves and the refrigerator side could have used another one. Also when we were putting it in place it should have fit by 1/4". Nope, with this unit as low as it gets it was 3/8" to tall. I had to disassemble my cabinet from the side pantries and raised it a full 1 1/2" just to give it a little room when i lowered the feet. We do love this refrigerator and would make the same decision again. Just check it out thoroughly in the store to make sure it fits your needs. Even with the shelves being minimally adjustable it works great for us. Nice product!
