Unhappy Samsung Customer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This samsung refrigerator is nice. I gave it a one star because of the ice maker and the ice dispenser. The ice maker makes very little ice, and it freezes up constantly. We have to pull out the bucket and break up the ice that freezes around the tray. In additional when you go to get cubed ice the dispenser breaks the ice and makes a mess around the tray and floor. Best buy has come out multiple times and has replaced the entire ice machine and several other parts to include the water filtration reservoir. They are unable to fix the issue, so I am stuck with a high end refrigerator with a defected ice machine. Best Buy policy is to continue to service the ice maker because the refrigeration is still working.

Fridge ok - Freezer and Ice Bomb
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.As far as refrigerators go, this one has not been worth the money. We have had it for 19 months. The space hasn't been an issue. I feel it fits all of our groceries - family of 6. The freezer drawer never wants to stay on the track and spatially is challenging. The smart aspect is ok. It keeps our schedule and is synced to everything so that is cool. I was told I could watch tv on it, nope. That doesn't work. We knew that it was kind of cool to have the screen but it was more for me to play with. I love new tech. The problem that I am struggling with is that from the beginning, it didn't ever produce much ice and now it freezes over ALL THE TIME! We have the warranty and they are finally scheduled to come try and fix it. It only took 4 tries and 3 hours to get thru to tech support. Over all, it makes a good fridge, but all the extras stuff (what we paid extra for) not worth it.

You can do a few things if your Family Hub apps don't seem to be working, such as checking for app updates to ensure you are using the latest versions and contacting the app's creator.

Samsung's ice makers are designed to stop when they're full. There are two methods for this: an optical sensor or a mechanical arm, which detects when ice has piled high enough. If your ice maker won't stop making ice, it means ice is not piling high enough to reach the sensor or arm, typically because the ice bucket is not in the proper position.

Samsung WON'T honor warranty

The compressor which is under warranty, broke. Samsung said was not under warranty. User manual says it is. Sent someone out twice to repair. They couldn't repair and took 2.5 months to get refund. They refused to refund $1500 in groceries or pay for new fridge delivery or installation or haul away broke one. Dealing with them is just terrible. DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG!

Ice maker issues

Downside is the ice maker. You will have problems with it as there is a known issue with this (found this out when we had our first problem) I wouldn’t buy this again simply because of the ice maker issues which is a bummer because other than that it’s perfect.

The built-in tablet is great to look up new recipes & browse the web/apps. The counter depth size does not give you much space for storage. The freezer compartment is ok, with the sliding double shelves. My biggest complaint is the ice maker, Iv'e had to replace it 2 x already. Good thing I bought the Geek Squad extended warranty. The ice maker dose not put out a lot of ice. It runs out really fast compared to other brands I've had. Overall this product is stylish but not very practical & reliable.

Worst ever

Ice maker has never worked and food spoils constantly in this thing. I have to put food in my back up refrigerator so it won't spoil before expiration dates. The freezer doesn't even freeze the items i have it. What a waste of $5500. I even bought the 5 yr warranty but have not been able to use it to get the thing fixed because of covid!!

Samsung should recall all French Door Refrigerator

Common problems are: 1) fan motor for circulating cold air from low freezer bin to upper cooler compartment. 2) poor quality of defrost sensor that will cause ice accumulated on evaporator and further block fan’s moving. We bought one 27 cubic inch Samsung French Door unit in 2015, in five years we called 4 times for service. Noise caused by fan was unbearable and lost cooling temperature made food spoiled. After 5 years extended warranty plan, services agent Geek Squard declines to fix our refrigerator of just 5 years old.

Black Stainless Steel scratches & no fix

The black stainless steel is a film cover over a stainless steel project. It scratches extremely easily - and we are very gentle with our appliances. Once scratched there is no repair and a silver streak shines through. It also now has a surface area that will scratch easier - you can feel the film on top. Very expensive product that looks horrible now after only 6 months.

Missing a very basic feature

When the fridge is left open, after 30 seconds or so it will start to play a song. Nothing for the freezer. We've had everything melt twice in our freezer in the two months we've owned it. Sadly we're past the 15 day return window :(
