    Ice maker problems

    A little over a year into owning this model, our refrigerator has started developing the common ice maker problems that resulted in a class action lawsuit against Samsung. Ice doesn't fully freeze, causing the ice maker to stop working. Defrosting with a hair dryer helps, but I'm afraid based on others experiences that ours will eventually lock up and burn out the motor. Otherwise, this is a nice looking shallow counter depth refrigerator. The inside has a nice mix of adjustable shelves and storage, and our only real complaint has been the ice maker not working. Buy the extended warranty, or plan for the possibility of repairs in the future.

    I bought this Frid little over year ago and the ice maker is no longer working and this is known issue for Samsung about ice maker. stay away from this product.

    Not even a year old and there are constant issues with the ice maker. It is also a very small ice maker.

    The ice maker has been absolute junk in this refrigerator. It has never made ice correctly and right about the time the warranty runs out it quits completely making ice. Samsung sent out a repair guy that said they are all like that and that all he could do was cut off this small plastic piece in the ice maker. Nice fix!! NOT.......It still will not make ice. Very Very disappointed in what I thought would be a great appliance. many other reviews online from other unsatisfied customers with the exact same issue.

    Worst Ice Maker

    Besides just being loud, the ice maker clogs every few days and you have to defrost it and start over. There's not a lot of places to organize. you can't fit a whole lot in the doors on the left side. I do like the drawers in the freezer.

    ICEMAKER FAILED JUST OUT OF WARRANTY!

    Purchased an entire suite of kitchen appliances, 50% are failing. The ice maker quit working within 30 days of the warranty expiring. Microwave: model # ME21H706MQG is failing, it's making a terrible grinding noise when in use. It still manages to heat but it sounds like it's dying.

    so far micro view runs very loud the dispenser on the ice maker runs dispense very slow and the glass top stains very easily the dishwasher stays wet after full cycle not very happy

    Not really smudge proof;finger prints are just not as noticeable produce bins too small; door alarm resets before the door is closed; ice dispenser is clumsy to use without some ice falling to the floor

    Good look 4 door the 3th can use as freezers or refrigerator have lock is the kids too small so they cannot play with ice or cold water

    The flexibility is great. Have a freezer in the garage, so I use three doors for fridge. "But", The icemaker has been repaired 4 times in two years. Got exchange and icemaker broke after one month.Thought the first may have been a lemon. We'll see????

    This is the first time I tried Samsung Product. I don't have much trust in their products when it comes to quality. I have read the reviews about this Ref but still I wanted to try. I was so disappointed. Within a year period, the Icemaker failed twice. Ice accumulates around the icemaker where it disables/blocking the production of ice. I should have listened to the reviews. Very disappointed with customer service, not much help. I will never buy Samsung product, never again.

    Got the fridge due to the french bottom doors. Can organize alittle better rather than tossing it in on a pull out. Works good but my 3 year old LG french door (no water hookup) was alot quiter. Obviously the water and ice maker create noise when its dropping ice inside but just in general I hear a fan running or something most the time. If I wanted to be picky, there it is. Other than that, it works perfect. One issue that I believe is with all ice dispensers on any fridge...no matter what, you always get at least a little crushed iced in your normal dispensed ice. It sucks, I dont like little ice pieces floating in my cocktails. The bottom french door I made a fridge and it saves alot of space, as I put all my drinks in the bottom right. So think about all that extra room up top.

    Paid a lot for a state of the art refrigerator and now I wish I had my old GE back. Ice maker has never worked properly, noisy, and now it blows my breaker at least two times a day.

    I have owned this refrigerator for one year. Second one installed by Best Buy, first one was a lemon and was broken at start up. Very good organization, love the options for the flex space. We use it as a fridge for drinks, snacks for kids, etc. Only complaint is the ice maker is a dud. It freezes up and stops working, it is slow to produce ice, takes forever for ice to be dispensed, the crushed ice feature only breaks ice in half at best, and when it freezes, the motor makes an annoying buzz.

    Somewhat disappointed, the Ice Maker's capacity is too small, lots of finger prints and this thing is so loud....makes all kinds of water noises. Not sure if other brands are any better.

    this unit does not make enough ice for two people to be home on a Sunday. Purchase last September. I love everything else. it works great. NO ICE, so sad:(((((((( now I need to run out to 7 11 to buy ice. after spending the most amount of money I have ever spent on a Refrigerator.

    We've had it for 1 month now. All good except ice dispenser is slow, water dispenser has a little too much pressure (with a small glass the water deflects off bottom and sprays out the top), and no handle + finger prints on doors.

    With the exception of the ice maker, this is a pretty good refrigerator. Convenient, functional, and attractive. Unfortunately, the ice maker clogs up, turns into a frozen lump of ice, and quits working about every 6-8 weeks. Need to forcefully remove the drawer and then chip out the frozen lump with a long knife to get it working again. Disappointing design failure for an otherwise excellent appliance.
