Had to wait until July for it to be delivered. Still love the four door option and drawers, but the ice machine has been frozen up more often than not. I called Best Buy Geek Squad for repair but they say they can't help me as its still under manufacturers warranty. Cannot get Geek Squad to tell me what good the $300 membership is with them for appliance purchases is they cannot service during 1st year and you have to renew it every year! So, after throwing that $300 dollar away apparently, I have been trying to get Samsung to fix this known defect in their expensive fridge ice machine. Been over a month and the only repair company within 60 miles still can't get part. Samsung has offered me a credit for a new fridge. Crazy when all I need is the ice machine fixed! Am going with a counter top ice maker and swearing off Best Buy and Samsung products going forward.

Ice Maker Issues

If you like ice bought at Gas Stations or Grocery stores then you came to the right place. I have had issues with the ice maker starting around the year mark when the warranty expired.

It’s already started to peel around the doors. It has rusted and a layer of the ss has peeled, looks awful. Also, not as much storage as thought. We do like the 2 door freezers. Cheaply made frig for 3K, it shouldn’t peel. Buyer’s regret for sure.

Did not like the design. Would not recommend the 4 doors. Were going to a side by side 2 door. Better design with ice maker in the freezer instead of the refrigerator.

Great Fridge, Horrible Ice Maker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We've had this fridge for about 4 months, and it has a lot of 'pros' for me: I love how it looks, and it doesn't show fingerprints too badly. I love how the handles are recessed which also reduces fingerprints. The shelving is great, and the drawers open far and well. One of the best features is that the lower right compartment can be used as either a freezer space or as a refrigerator space - we don't freeze much, so the extra fridge space is great. The water and ice dispenser are well positioned and don't splash or splatter, and It is pretty quiet. Now about the ice maker... it is horrible. Just horrible. It has a small capacity and is slow to make ice. The 'grinder' is super weak and really doesn't work for crushed ice. The worst part is that it has frozen up twice since we bought it. I had to thaw/chip the frozen chunks that blocked the water flow and then wait about 30 hours before there was ice in the bin again. So overall I love it, but we will probably be buying a countertop ice maker to compensate for the seriously crappy one in this Samsung.
