    Not so great

Attractive and streamlined. Simple design for small space. But- Honestly, really cheap interior. Every time I open a drawer to get veggies or the ice bucket I feel like the plastic will break-low quality materials. Also the fridge is at 37 but my carrots in the veggie drawer froze. The worst part of this fridge is the taste of the ice- the filter for the water must not be good- it’s ok when. The ice is frozen but if it melts it makes your drink taste bad.

Pros: 1. Great sleek design with hidden handles which eliminates handle bars like on many other models. 2. Love the counter depth which makes the refrigerator looks like it belongs in that space. 3. Side by side is a great feature where we can see items in the freezer compared to drawer style where we have to dig around to get to items. 4. Smudges wipe away easily with just wet rag…no special stainless cleaner needed. Cons: 1. I can see that freezer has been accumulating some frost in the top half but it’s becoming less as it’s been running and I have been wiping them down….maybe during initial start up days with the unit trying to get to operating temperature. 2. Shelves are not adjustable but it’s not a big issue for us. Overall it’s a great refrigerator so far but keep in mind that we’ve only had it for 1 weeks. Despite having 6 sq ft less than our previous refrigerator which we were little nervous about, we love the counter depth and have gotten used to the smaller size. There is no ice or water dispenser on the door which we like but may not be for everyone. Ice maker produces well but recommend having couple of ice trays if you have kiddos involved in sports…btw we are using the bottom slide out drawer in the freezer to keep extra ice.

I love my new fridge. I brought in May but waited this day make sure product was right for me. first I love the design. it looked so modern. I don't like the handles nor dispensers on door. next thing was the counter depth that works perfect in my kitchen. Most importantly, inside there is plenty of space, it design to uses up every spaces available. The LED lighting is bright and it makes me to keep it clean all the time. this is great fridge and great value and I recommend this product.

Have had for aboud a month as of the time this review is being written, and we love it so far. We don't use the ice maker or "smart" function (why would you need to have your fridge connected to wi-fi? That's so unecessary) so I can't speak to those details, but it's super quiet and we love that there are no external handles taking up space in our small kitchen. I've never had a side by side fridge before, but switched to this design after suffering with a French door style freezer on the bottom model for the last many years, and I LOVE the side by side. So much easier to use and to keep everything organized, and still plenty of width to the doors to get large boxes or trays in. We are very happy with our purchase.

So far so good! I have no problem to complaint with it. It's look simple, beautiful and quiet. IT does the job plus It has wheels on bottom witch could push back and forth for convenient. I haven't used smart things portion. People are going to love it Especially young ones.

I want to really, really like this fridge. I like the clean lines and I like that it doesn't have water in the door. It keeps food cold and looks nice. That said, I've had it a month and already have some issues: 1) Icemaker was only making three cubes at a time. Obviously a water flow problem. Had to get a tech out. After swapping filter unit and icemaker, he found it was just a crimped plastic line -- the line was missing the retainer that allowed it to "curve" so it instead folded and kept it from dispensing more than 1oz water. Fixed, yay, but a pretty big hassle for something they could have tested at Factory. 2. There's a shelf/retainer missing at bottom of freezer door. It's not missing exactly since from what I can tell, they don't come with it. But the spot is there for it. My guess is that Samsung molded the space into the door and then decided to not include the shelf to save a couple bucks. 3. None of the shelves (fridge or freezer) can be adjusted. You're stuck with the spacing samsung chose. I saw this highlighted as an issue in some of the reviews and told myself "that's OK, you never move the shelves on your current fridge." But what I didn't realize is that I didn't move my existing shelves AFTER THE INITIAL SETUP 20 YEARS AGO-- that is, I didn't move them after I got them where I wanted them. 4. It's pretty light on accessory storage -- there's no easy to access egg or butter storage. That kind of thing. There are two fridge drawers, and we're used to three (deli, veggie, meat). So having at least an egg or cheese/butter location in the door would be helpful. But we're making it work by keeping a snapware container on one of the shelves for "deli". 5. The shelves and drawer plastics are really brittle -- especially when cold. We had a bag of bagels fall off one of the lightly frosted freezer shelves (you know how slippery ice is, right?), and drop 2' onto the "lid" for the freezer drawer, cracking it in half. I'm hoping to get this replaced under warranty, but we'll see how that goes. The fact that there aren't "lips" or edges or retainers or anything molded into the freezer shelves is a weakness. Like I said above, ice is slippery -- and this freezer seems more icy than most (see next item) -- and so stuff will slide out and fall. At the very least, the freezer cubby lid should be able to handle bread falling on it. The door shelf tubs/cubbies are are similarly brittle. As noted above, nothing is adjustable, so I find myself having to twist and angle items to get them in/out of the door cubbies. So far, the cubbies have "flexed" when needed, but I'm just waiting for the time that flex becomes a "crack". 6. Self-defrost cycle on the freezer seems pretty weak. Everything (food, shelves, walls) is coated in a thin layer of frost. If this is as bad as it gets, I guess I can live with a few items "self-ejecting" from the slippery freezer shelves (see item #5). But I'm worried that at some point we'll start to see major ice build up issues. 7. As I noted in my title, it's pretty obvious that most of these issues are the result of profit-maximizing cost-cutting. I imagine another $50 in parts/design could have minimized or fixed all of these issues. But instead, they really focused on making a fridge that looked great online or in the store at a great cheap price, with little thought to the implications of corner cutting. My last fridge lasted more than 20 years. I'm expecting 5 from this one. Yay for the environment! Samsung may not care that the cost-cutting will reduce the effective life of the fridge (gotta keep that product churn going), but if that's the case, they're likely oblivious to the idea that the cost-cutting measures would damage customer's perception of "Samsung Quality" and cause said customer to shop other brands at replacement time. PS -- Many reviews complain that removing the protective plastic from the fridge is difficult. Samsung must have fixed this. It came off easily. For the few locations where jagged plastic remained, I was able to clean that up with a sharp razor blade. Check out Youtube for some examples of how to do this.

Love this fridge! We have a narrow kitchen so it’s nice to not have the handles taking up more space in the room. We haven’t used the ice maker so I can’t comment on it but im glad the ice maker doesnt take up a lot of space in the freezer since we don’t have it hooked up. The biggest negative is the fingerprints - nothing I can do to keep it from having tons of fingerprints everyday.

We loved this so much we purchased a second one for our workplace. I normally don't like side by side refrigerators but this one is quite spacious and is such a clean modern look. So easy to clean - especially on the front. Would absolutely recommend.

our old fridge was troublesome with water/ice dispenser. that is why i chose this model. it seems this kind of simple one is not popular and almost no choice especially in counter-depth. this is my first samsung appliance, so far good, basic, less shelves but plenty of room in freezer (because of no water dispenser?) I like it.

We needed a second refrigerator, put it a room just off the kitchen. for leftovers, drinks etc. It had to be big enough, but not too deep. The size is perfect due to the no handles set up. The downside is that sets you up for more fingerprints. The space and functionality of the doors / shelves etc. all work great. Very quiet running also.

A great purchase. Always prefer buying from Best Buy. They also matched the price so I didn’t have to compromise on price for service. Refrigerator fits perfectly in the kitchen space and work great. Love the controls through mobile app. Ice maker is a bit slow but we’re not too much into cold and ice drinks so works for us. Refrigerator was delivered on time and the delivery team was thoroughly professional. Did a complete check before and after installation and left only after we were fully satisfied.

We replaced our previous French Door (Kenmore) with this “side by side” (Samsung). This design is much more convenient. Especially the freezer. Also, with no handles, the front is easier to wipe down.

This fridge fits the bill and gets the job I needed done. However, as the other reviews say, your vegetables will go bad one way or another. I got creative and I keep them in the comparment on the top of the right side of the door, some in the middle inside containers. If you use the dedicated drawers you will have an unpleasant suprise. Mine kept getting frozen, no matter what temperature the fridge was - and we tried a few different set ups.. - BUT, again, it serves what I needed so it is good for me.

By far it’s a beautiful refrigerator. It’s not wide but quite deep. Cooled immediately after set up and the ice maker produced ice within a few hours. Functionality is simple and was able to set up fridge on Samsung Smart Things app. Will review again in 1 year with updates on usage.

I appreciate how much storage space this refrigerator has, the overall look, how easy it was to set the ice maker up, and how easy it is to move around on its wheels. However, I have been trying for months to get the wifi connected and it has never worked, so it isn't really serving its function as a smart appliance. It also seems to have somewhat uneven cooling, as I have occasionally had some items in the refrigerator section end up frozen.

I've had this fridge for about 2 weeks. So far I love it. Since it is counterdepth it gave me so much more room I have a very small kitchen and the several inches difference in depth made such a big change. There's only 2 adults so the size is great for us but I can see where there might be a problem for larger families. So far its operating very well and looks beautiful.

After having a big refrigerator for years, which always made my kitchen feel smaller than it is, I finally decided to get a counter depth refrigerator to get rid of the big elephant in the room "the big fridge". I am now loving my new counter depth refrigerator! I can still fit all my food comfortably and still have room to spare. Just this change alone has transformed the feel and space in my kitchen. I totally recommend this to anyone wanting a more functional kitchen space while also having a great quality fridge at a reasonable price.
