    I've chosen the perfect fridge. Before this one we owned a French door style fridge. The doors were bulky and it annoyed me that I always had to open both doors to have full access. When those doors would close they would swing pretty hard and always slam shut due to their weight which rattled the bottles and jars inside as well as my nerves. When shopping for a new fridge I had also considered previous fridges we had like the traditional top freezer. When thinking about that style, I didn't like the idea of large doors anymore. A Kennmore side-by-side style is one we had growing up in the late 80s & 90s. Coincidently ours also had a front showcase door with shallow shelves. I like that the doors are lighter and that the entire fridge/freezer can be accessed at a time. The drawers are nice a deep so that you can fit a fair amount into them and clear to see through. There are enough drawers for all kids of food categories that you want to separate. I use the showcase door daily and quite frequently for juices, milks, and condiments. The shelves can be removed and placed at different heights to accommodate various packaging. The ice/water dispenser is nice in that it has no tray below to collect water. There is a simple dip in the mold that is easy to wipe, although the water seems to roll down the front of the fridge and has to be wiped. The stainless steel shows fingerprints easily. I've purchased a stone and steel cleaner from the grocery store which seems to help although a lot of elbow grease is needed which makes me have to be more careful about making initial prints. Cons: I wish the ice/water dispenser had an option for the light only with a timer. There were also hairline scratches on one of the doors at delivery which they said they would have to bring no in an entire new fridge and remove just the door to replace (which never happened). Also, after peeling away all the protective film, lots of residual film was left sticking out of the cracks leaving a jagged appearance. I've failed to remove it despite my best efforts. Overall, this fridge is fantastic. It's the perfect size for a family of 5 and looks sleek and modern.

    Good Freezer/BAD REFRIGERATOR

    I purchased this model on 11/29/15. I chose the samsung brand because of the other samsung items in my home. I MADE A MISTAKE! In June of this year, the refrigeration side quit working. Apparently, these refrigerators have an insulation problem causing the fan to "ice up" and fail. I contacted samsung and they were no help. You see their one year warranty had expired. Thank God, I bought an extended warranty from Best Buy. I contacted Best Buy and they sent out a service tech. The service tech informed me that it was a design issue and is a very, very common problem. Now, ONE MONTH later, the refrigeration side is out again. From what I understand, there is a class action law suit against samsung for this very problem. I'm sure that this would not be necessary if samsung stood by their products. BUT THEY DO NOT! If you gamble and buy this "product", you better get an extended warranty or you will be on the hook for the repairs required by samsung's design flaws. Oh yea, the ice maker is so loud that it would put a Harley Davidson to shame. But, that can be lived with. However, the refrigerator repeatedly failing is not something that a customer should have to live with.

    Purchased our Samsung Showcase side-by-side frig a month ago and it was delivered approximately two weeks ago. Had reservations about buying another Samsung. Why? Had minor complaints about my top of the line Samsung which suddenly stopped working after 14 years. Secondly, my son needed to replace his French door Samsung which started breaking and falling apart after about seven years. Needless to say, Best Buy had an unbelievable offer we couldn't refuse and after diligent studying of many reviews, decided to go with another Samsung. We couldn't be happier with the clean lines and spaciousness of both freezer and frig. Lighting is fantastic. Some reviews had complaints about icemaker being loud. Not a problem. You probably hear the ice drop once a day in the bin for a few seconds..big deal! And that's because we were waiting for this supposedly "loud annoying" sound. We aren't even aware of the "noise" now. What I do agree with the other reviews is the little dribble of water down front of frig if you pull your glass from the water dispenser very quickly and the easily smudgeable stainless steel finish. However, I have this problem with all of my other stainless steel appliances. Lastly, my old Samsung had a removable grid over the deep water well under the ice/water dispenser to catch any drips. This model has mostly a nonexistent water well. Would I purchase again? At this time....most definitely!

    Well I received my new black stainless Samsung 6 days ago and so far I have not been impressed. Delivery was great, guys were nice and setup was fine. Compressor finally kicked in after they left and I thought something was broke, its pretty loud, hums and buzzes an unacceptable amout for my preference(way louder than my 14 yr old cheapo Frigidare. I even have some minor vibrations on the inside. After it got down to temp after a few hours we heard this god awful noise for 3-4 seconds, like when you turn a fauct on and there is air in the system, sputtering and loud. Finally figured out it is the when the ice maker fills with water...I cannot beleive Samsung said "yep thats an okay noise for that to happen when filling water" and went with that. Lastly I like the showcase door, but every now and then when I open the main door it will stick and rip open the showcase door, no bueno. Not sure if that was a bad install when leveling or what. Talked to Best Buy and they were great, going to be switching out for a new one in a few days and I will update a few days after that. Hopefully they new one will not have these issues. I clicked recommend but I will change that if necessary.

    I love the ergonomics of this frig. From the showcase door that keeps the inside cool while my husband get the milk, the ketchup and whatever else out from the door without having to get into the main frig area to the side by side doors that offer me more freezer space and in a way that I can easily organize and see what the heck is in the freezer. I love all the bin space too, even in the freezer! So there is actually room for all the veggies and things can be organized so much easier. Also loving the cold water/ice machine in the door. No more having the freezer door completely open while my hubby tries to fill his glass with ice cubes. I love everything about it. The stainless steel is so much easier to keep clean as well. If I had one wish it to improve my experience it would be, all the same features in a frig that isn't as deep (wall to front), our galley like kitchen is challenged in that way. Hey, maybe I just want a bigger kitchen instead! :) The ONLY thing that went wrong with this product wasn't the product, it was the delivery. It took them 3 tries to deliver the right frig. So if you order this make sure the delivery office knows that the last two letters on the model number are SR not just S or you'll keep getting the dressed down version with out the showcase door. And believe me, you want the showcase door!!!

    purchrsed this fridge right before xmas. Sales team was great. After reading reviews on all other brands. Let's face it it's extremely difficult to pick out any appliance these days. It's so confusing and frustrating. So with that said. I'm a pretty picky person. Fridge was delivered with a small ding at the bottom of the door. Best Buy offered us to exchange it for another or be compinsated with a gift card. We choose the gift card and put it towards the over the stove microwave. Can hardly even see the tiny dent in the fridge. Now with that being said. Here's my small complaints. I feel like the fridge is kinda loud. But really it's no dig deal. It doesn't run nonstop. Second complain. The water does kind of drop out from the dispenser. Again. Not the end of the world. My biggest complain is actually the packaging. For the love of god I can't get all the plastic off the thing. It's like built with the protective plastic on. So it just rips when you try to remove it. So when you open the first door you can see all the torn plastic around the inside of the door. It look awful and I can't get it all off. So there you have it. Honest review without being unrealistic. Nothing is perfect these days. And appliances don't last 30yrs anymore. It's a fact.

    I was SO stoked to get this frig! It was the last appliance I needed to upgrade so I'd have a matching Samsung kitchen. Looks great sitting there but this thing has THE LOUDEST icemaker on the planet... I'm not kidding. It's so bad that every time it fills up the tray with water, we all just shake our head laugh. Though the showcase door is neat, I don't find myself using it...at all. I could have paid $500.00 less and got the same frig without that feature.. wish I would have now. My biggest complaint and its not mentioned ANYWHERE is the text that indicates "ice", "water", "light" etc does not illuminate so if it's the least bit dim you have to turn a light on to make your choice on the front panel. So if you want to own a Frig you can only use during daylight hours then buy this one! If you want to use this frig at night to get ice or water then bring a flashlight.

    Good unit needs improvments

    Overall we like the unit but it does have a few issues. The styling and general design is good with ample shelving and overall space. Price was also good. The door in door feature was the reason we purchased this unit but the area that functions as the door in door storage struggles to keep temperature. We are talking to the geek squad and they are checking this and I will amend the review if there is a significant improvement. The unit is set at its lowest setting and the door in door area stays at a consistent 40 which is barely out of danger zone temps. As it is designed to store milk etc. this can be a bit of an issue. But the main compartment and the freezer stay at temp and recover quickly. The SS front is a bit sensitive and shows scratches easily and smudges (cleans up with a damp micro fiber cloth fast). Drawers area bit lower quality than I expected. The water/Ice function takes a bit of getting used too but works very well. Pros: Nice styling Pricing Good recovery of temps Storage space Good ice storage and output Quiet too Cons: Temp of door in door area (to be continued) Drawers a bit low quality SS front sensitive to smudges and scratches

    After researching and reviewing every fridge out there, I settled on this Samsung. As we access the freezer often, I wanted to stick with a side-by-side model. The digital touchscreen panel comforts me with its instant info on temps for the fridge. The drawers are spacious. The reach-in access door is handy and we all use it often. The only drawback, and it's a slight one, is that narrow cups or glasses must be tipped slightly forward to ensure the water dispenser doesn't miss the opening as the spigot is set a bit more forward than is customary. It's good looking. Streamlined exterior design. And I feel safe with the Samsung rep in the fridge industry. The 10-year warranty on the compressor affords peace of mind.

    So far so good...I've had a side by side for many years. I find them more organized then a bottom freezer with drawers and I think they hold more; less waisted space. It took a week to get used to the double door when to reach higher and when to hit release. More room than my old one. There is no light intrusion for tall items and the ice compartment on the door frees up more space in the freezer. The light is dimmer as LED tend to be more halo, but can see what I need and the energy savings is appreciated . Stainless steel finish cleans pretty good...keep with the grain while cleaning. It also took me a week to figure our where to put things...my old frig. had a butter dish area this one does not so I purchased a butter dish with led. All and all I am happy with the purchase and this was "open box" and the value even better.

    The fridge is fine - But wouldn't use Best Buy aga

    The fridge works fine (It is very deep - measure your space before buying), but I would not purchase an appliance from best buy again. Figuring out how to hook up the fridge to a waterline was a nightmare. I had another fridge installed by another company - for them, running a 30 foot copper water line took 20 minutes. With best buy, unless the water line was 12 inches behind the fridge they didn't know how to handle it. They used the wrong tools to drill through my floor, didn't know which valves to turn to turn off the water, and then wanted me to purchase nine separate 6' water installation kit tubes instead of using the copper line that was already there. Plus, I still have not received any information about the 5 year warranty I purchased. On the plus side, the people who installed were very nice. My guess is Best Buy doesn't pay for real plumbers to do the job, just two very nice guys who don't have training to handle anything besides connecting the fridge to a preexisting connection. Not worth the $140 it cost for "installation".

    We had read the reviews from consumer reports and took their advice when purchasing this unit. We were so unimpressed we had to get a different Samsung model. Some of the issues we found are a manufacturer issue that persists regardless of the model. negatives: Showcase door doesn't latch properly and consistently is left ajar. Motor is loud. Ice dispenser control board had to be replaced. Water pump to refill the ice reservoir is so loud it stops the conversation in the kitchen and living room when it turns on. It sound like a chipmunk is trapped inside the freezer. Positives: keeps food cold Samsung customer service is pleasant to talk to which is a good thing because you'll spend a lot of time talking to them. Consider other brands.

    Nice fridge, but if you use a lot of crushed ice like i do, chunks of ice will get behind ice dispenser and eventually melt and cause big puddles of water that will run down front of fridge that can cause water stains on the stainless steel. Geek squad was told by SAMSUNG to apply aluminum duct tape so ice can't fall behind ice dispenser which did stopped the ice from getting trapped, but seriously A $2000.00 fridge repaired with duct tape? Was super quiet at first but 2 mos later getting a ticking or tapping sound from compressor / fan and just noticed rubber seal that seals freezer door not sealing on bottom left hand corner. Making another call to geek squad soon.

    The refrigerator is great however I expected it to be better. This is because whenever I use the water dispenser it drips a few times after pulling away my cup. I love the showcase door, simply because it is easier to reach things quickly. I prefer the solid shelves in the freezer so this was great. The alarm gets annoying if you do larger grocery shopping and try to load everything into the fridge at one time. On the other hand it is nice because I know the fridge is shut. The display for the fridge and freezer shows the temperature of each side which is nice. There is also the option of quick freeze and refrigerate. I have only owned them for a month so I am unsure how they will last in the long run. Overall I would recommend this side by side to a friend.

    Delivery people were great. They were very careful. After they left, we had a problem with the showcase door -- it did not work. My Best Buy store is nearby, so I went there to discuss. I wanted a callback to have someone stop by to repair. I never got that call. I found out yesterday that there will be a delivery on Monday of a replacement refrigerator!! I don't want that---- I either want a repaired door, or a replacement door. When they get here Monday, i will first ask them to fix the door, & if that does not work, I will tell them to replace the door only. The refrigerator has one major flaw.....the shelves need more adjustment positions. in order to place a gallon milk container on the bottom shelf, we had to remove one shelf. Not good. More to follow.

    The frig itself is great. Excellent size. The pass through door works great as well. I'm trying to find out and not quite sure about the freezer door. When getting ice there is a lag. Not really sure why but seems enough to make notice of it. I unboxed the frig and have noticed that there is no catch for water or anything on the bottom of water/ice part of the door. Not sure if it wasn't designed with one or it was lost before being packaged. I've been busy and haven't had a moment to figure that issue out. The ice maker seems to work good but is a little noisy I'm guessing due to it being In the front and not the back. Not really a big deal as everything. Is away from the kitchen and only hear it if your in the kitchen. It's not loud enough to hear except closely to it. All in all a great frog though.

    Recently purchased this refrigerator and I am well pleased so far. I did not need the hose that I purchased because I had a built in hose attached to the wall already. Will return it for a refund. The space on this unit is unbelievable. The ice and water dispensers are working perfectly. The icemaker is very silent, no noise whatsoever. It makes a lot of ice, the tray hasn't been empty since and we're a family of 8. Ice is always available. The bestbuy service team members were professional. They removed and installed my new refrigerator in less than 40 mins. Great purchase and I will definitely recommend this refrigerator.

    It does what it is supposed to do. And as a long time Samsung product owner I think this one should be left aside. Far less quality than my old 13 yrs old one. The lack of a crisp temp control is no good. Ice maker is too small, water and ice dispenser switch with button does get annoying sometimes. The full display door is great. In fact that is the 2nd reason why this fridge is good -only because the other great thing is that it is a true dual zone system with dual evaporator coils, that means that your fridge or freezer can continue to work if either side is damaged. Other than that this refrigerator offers nothing to be wowed about and for the price... A little too high for the actual quality of the materials used.

    DELIVERY FASTER THAN SEARS!

    We purchased our refrigerator at BestBuy because they were able to deliver faster than Sears! Our fridge broke Saturday night and we went straight to Sears for a replacement. Their in stock items were not available for a delivery until Friday! So we left and went to BestBuy! The fridge was in my house by Tuesday! Unfortunately, the fridge has some minor flaws/defects. The doors were not even and the door panel near the ice/water dispenser was coming off. I phoned customer service the next day and they scheduled a delivery for a replacement fridge right away. Stay tuned for next delivery and product experience!

    Good fridge but has a few inconvenient features

    We loved the door feature of this fridge and the location of the icemaker. After purchasing, we were disappointed that the words for the control panel for ice/water are not lit so it is very hard to read them. Also, some of the bins don't pull out far enough to get items in the back. This refrigerator also does not qualify for energy compliant rebate from Snohomish County PUD. It is a good fridge but probably would have bought a different one had I known issues.
