    A good, inexpensive monitor

The Samsung S3 (S30GD) monitor has an IPS LED panel that provides good color and response time (100 hz) that should allow for decent game play in a relatively inexpensive monitor. The resolution is 1920 x 1080. There are two inputs in the back. One (1) HDMI and one (1) old school VGA. This monitor does not have any extras like speakers or USB hubs. This monitor is very thin and light weight. There is an external power brick. Older monitors used to have the power supply integrated into the monitor and that made them heavier. I actually prefer not having to find a place to put a power brick but the brick is common with inexpensive monitors and they work fine. The bezel is very thin, about 3/16” making it a choice if you want to put 2 of these side by side. The monitor was easy to assemble. Just a few screws tightened with a screwdriver and one you can twist on. The monitor can be mounted to a monitor arm with a 100mm x 100mm VISA plate. There is no adjustability to the stand other than rotating very slightly. However, I don’t believe this is a feature, just a cheap stand. This monitor takes a while to turn on on my system, especially during restarts or waking from sleep mode. It can take a good 20 seconds for the screen to turn on after a reboot. I don’t see any of the boot process. It usually turns on when I get to the login screen. Sometimes it doesn’t turn on at all and I have to hit the power button. It might just be the system I’ve attached it to but I’m not sure. The picture is good. Colors are vibrant and seem accurate out of the box. Brightness is good but not outstanding. Contrast is also very good even with the brightness set at 90%. Some cheap monitors with wash out the screen with the brightness set at higher levels. This is not an issue with this monitor. Colors and brightness are not as good when viewed at angles. Especially when viewing from above and to the side (think looking over the shoulder of someone you are working with). I’ve had not issues with responsiveness. The multi-function power-menu adjustment button/joystick is located on the lower right on the rear of the monitor. It’s not a great location as it can be difficult to reach depending on your setup. The menus are easy to read and use to make adjustments. I can’t say I’m in love with this monitor. I’ve gotten much less expensive monitors with speakers that I would recommend over this one for everyday, typical home use. However, they didn’t have higher refresh rates or an IPS screen. This monitor might be worth the extra cost if you are playing games or need the more accurate colors provided by an IPS monitor.

If you are looking for a monitor that won't break the bank but still gets the job done, I found this to be a terrific option. Pros: - While this monitor is low cost, the display is still excellent with vibrant colors and a very clean look with a small bezel. - It comes with an HDMI cable, which you will likely be using as this model does not have a Display Port. The lack of a Display Port option helps keep this model more affordable, so if you normally like to use HDMI to connect your devices, this is a good model to consider. - The power cords are plenty long enough for pretty much any set up that you may have. - I like the single button on the back that is used for power and toggling settings. It helps the monitor have a nice and clean look on the front. Cons: - While you can use this monitor for gaming as it has a decent refresh rate (100Hz), I would recommend a model with a higher refresh rate if gaming is your primary use for it. This is a bargain of a monitor that provides decent performance/specs. It's a terrific option as a secondary display in a work-at-home situation or for someone that just does basic computing (and some gaming) in the home.

    Sleek Beginner Monitor

Samsung has a gift for making topnotch products and I have been blessed to partake in many of those offerings. So naturally, I should go into this review rather biased. Well, that's not how it works here. Anybody can get it. As you can already tell from the star rating that there are things that may not be up to snuff. Let's start with the positives This is a beautiful , wide-angle , full HD monitor that's easy to set up on it's provided stand or even a floating monitor stand. It sleek and a solidly built and it fits very nicely with my multi-screen esthetic. It comes with the monitor, with a 1 HDMI port and a 1 PC port, and a power port and cable, optional stand and an HDMI cable(I like that). One little knob in the back for menu. This is eveything from contrast to brightness. Unfortunately, there's no volume control. There aren't any speakers. I also have a problem with meager 100Hz. I feel like this screen should be able to put out more power. But this is what you'lll get. Even with that major shortcoming, I still would say it's really good monitor. The price is really great for the namesake, as well. So, you've made it this far and haven't swayed to one of the other brands. This isn't a bad purchase and an affordable option to get your system going. And it's an universal truth that 24" monitors are the best gaming screen.

Samsung - 24" S3 (S30GD) IPS LED FHD 100Hz Monitor Summary: Great value monitor for every-day tasks. Use: We needed a second external display to complement a setup to be used by our ILs in our ADU. This display works well enough for that role. We also occasionally host our nephews so something that would work as a gaming monitor would be a perk. The laptop display works fine, but too small for browsing, etc. Given the price point, we didn't expect bells and whistles. The refresh rate and display size are adequate. It is unassuming and takes up a modest amount of desk space. We tested it by putting it through its paces as a desktop monitor for browsing use, and also a little bit of gaming. This isn't going to win prizes for the latter. Following are a few pros and cons. Please keep in mind the price point. Pros: * Screen. Size and HD resolution are fine for a light-use secondary display. Brightness/contrast and viewing angles are all adequate. Refresh rate of 60-100Hz and 5 ms response time make this usable for all basic uses, and some light gaming. * Quality. We noticed some bleeding along the edges for dark screens. In a darkened room, this becomes really noticeable. * Setup. The assembly is pretty standard. Screw the base and snap the stand into place. * Connectivity. 1 x HDMI 1.4 port. That's it. * Price. For what you're getting, it is priced fairly. Cons: * At this price point, I am getting what I pay for and nothing more - a secondary monitor for a guest computer.

Happy with the unit overall - good resolution, clarity and brightness. Had both HDMI and VGA connections, which we desired for a computer that would have otherwise required a mini displayport to HDMI converter, replacing a VGA-connected monitor that no longer worked properly. Disappointed that the only way to configure these things was a joystick-like knob on the back of the unit rather than buttons on the lower bevel. We figured it out, and don't expect to need to change those settings again, but it was a clumsy setup that required a bit of video-game finesse. to operate the joystick unseen on back of unit while looking at the changes on the front. Having owned many Samsung TVs and computer monitors in the past 20 years or so, this one was easily the most troublesome to go through the first-time setup.

The Samsung S24D300G is a very affordable and great performing 24" 1920 x 1080 monitor. The image is sharp and clear with good color accuracy, making it great for daily work and for video streaming. Setup is very simple, the box contains the monitor, stand, power adapter and an HDMI cable. The stand comes as two pieces that are easy to assemble, and which then attach to the back of the monitor with a couple screws. There are also VESA mounting locations on the back of the monitor, and a cable management clip on the back of the monitor at the top of the stand. After connecting the HDMI cable to my Windows 11 HP laptop docking station and powering on the monitor, it was detected and set up as an extended display. The power button is on the back of the monitor near the bottom right corner. When the monitor is on, the power button is used to open and navigate a settings menu. I experimented with Game Mode and some other settings, but ultimately left the default custom settings in place. They give excellent results for things like web browsing and CAD tools, and produce very natural looking color tones when watching movies. I've used the monitor fairly steadily for several days now to do some project work and to stream video online and from my personal collection. Over this time I've really gotten to like the monitor. Colors are warm and natural, and I don't feel the need to tweak or adjust anything. The laptop has an OLED screen, and while the Samsung IPS panel can't match its vivid color and contrast, the color hues and levels are comparable. I haven't noticed any eye strain or other issues with performance or function, it's just been a solid monitor and I've become very comfortable using it with the laptop. Its overall appearance is clean and simple with a very thin bezel along the top and side edges. The base provides a nice location for a small portable speaker that I use for sound when watching video. As the title indicates, this is a basic no-frills monitor. HDMI and VGA are the only two connection options, which should be supported in most newer and legacy systems. There is no internal sound or 3.5mm jack for audio out to an external speaker. The screen has some tilt adjustment, but the height is not adjustable. Given the quality of the display image and price point, I don't miss the frills at all. If you're looking for an inexpensive, nice-sized monitor for a second screen and video streaming, the Samsung S24D300G is definitely worth considering. The size, appearance, image quality and price point make it a very attractive choice.

I’m very happy with this monitor. The picture quality is sharp, colors are vibrant, and the 100Hz refresh rate makes everything super smooth — perfect for work, streaming, and gaming. The size is ideal for a small desk setup, and it feels very well built. Setup was quick and easy, and it connected instantly via HDMI. For the price, it’s an amazing value. Totally recommend it if you want a reliable, high-definition monitor without spending too much.

Buying this monitor was an excellent decision for my son’s college dorm. The size is perfect (not too big and not too small) and the resolution looks great. He has it connected to his Xbox, so he uses it both for gaming and for watching his sports programs. It fits perfectly on his desk, and he’s really enjoyed having it.

One of the standout features is the 100Hz refresh rate, which makes everything feel smoother than a standard 60Hz monitor. Scrolling through web pages and multitasking feels more fluid, and games run noticeably better with less screen tearing. Setup was quick and easy. The monitor includes both HDMI and D-sub ports, which made it simple to connect to my PC. The overall design is sleek and modern—it looks great on my desk without taking up too

During our Win10 to Win11 upgrade we found a number of VGA only monitors and needed to replacements that had either DisplayPort or HDMI. So I purchased these on sale. We couldn't be happier with the purchase. We are a business and these fit the bill perfectly for what we do.

Personal Experience With Samsung S3 – The Screen That Makes Me “Forget” The Old Screen Before using Samsung S3, I thought that the screen only needed to “display” enough. But after a few weeks of use, I realized: a good screen is not just a tool, but something that upgrades both living and working experiences. _ What impressed me most: the feeling of “smoothness without effort” The 100Hz refresh rate is not just a number – it’s a feeling. Every time I scroll through a web page, drag a file, or change video scenes, everything goes by smoothly. No more lag, no more eye pain. I didn’t realize how important this was until I experienced it. _ The colors are not artificially bright – but a pleasant balance Samsung S3 doesn’t try to “force” to be bright. Instead, the colors are very natural and easy on the eyes, but still have enough depth to work with images or watch movies without being dull. Especially when Eye Saver mode is turned on - it feels like the screen "knows" that you are tired and adjusts itself to be more comfortable. The design is unobtrusive, but very smart The bezel is thin, the base is sturdy, and does not take up desk space. The HDMI and D-sub ports are arranged reasonably, without tangles. I like the “put it down and use it” design – no complicated assembly or much editing required. _ Use it for a long time to see: stability is hard to find No small errors, no flickering, no need to readjust every time I start it. I have used a few other monitors, and always had to “put up with” the little things. With the Samsung S3, everything works smoothly as if it was born to do that.

I’ve been using the Samsung 24" S3 monitor for a bit now, and overall, it’s a great budget display for everyday use. The picture quality is really nice thanks to the IPS panel — colors look clean and bright, and the screen looks good from any angle. The 100Hz refresh rate makes everything feel smoother than a regular 60Hz monitor, especially when scrolling or playing light games.

I’m really happy with this Samsung 24" monitor. I bought 2 monitors my home office. It was super easy to set up right out of the box — plug it in and you’re good to go. The display is crisp and bright, and it’s very easy on the eyes, even after long hours of use. I especially appreciate how well it enlarges text and images, which is a big help for those of us with a bit of vision challenge. Overall, it’s a great, comfortable monitor that makes everyday computing a lot easier and more enjoyable.
