Don't get caught in the hype of the panel. It's cool, but in practical use, it doesn't do much and the sound is tinny. It needs an audio jack for your own sound speakers or sound system. However, Samsung would not accept my review. There are only two bad reviews on Samsung's website, mine was rejected. Best Buy will let it through, but Best Buy's Geek Squad is going to be slammed here, too. After a month, the water taste was foul, very heavy in plastic taste. We thought it might be the filter. Removed it, checked, then put it back. Whoops! Wait! You can't put it back in unless you pull the refrigerator out from the wall, crawl in behind it and turn off the water to the refrigerator. It even says so in the manual!!! I called Samsung and they say this is for my safety, so that water does not leak into the fridge. Now, how in the world is my 100 pound wife supposed to move a 400 pound refrigerator, plus a hundred pounds of food and ice (oh, wait... the ice maker only makes 4 pounds of ice.. never mind) Back to the bad taste. We ran at least 20 gallons of water through the fridge. Still taste bad. Geek squad decided the tank might be bad and scheduled a service call to replace it. Part shipped in. Geek squad dude showed up. Said we have bad water. Didn't replace tank. Wife told him he was full of you-know-what, that we had had two other refrigerators there, both still operational (one in our garage and the other at our lake house). Neither one had bad ice or water from the same city water system and neither one required the fridge to be moved out from the cabinets in order to change a filter. As a result of Mr. Geek Squad dude's laziness and attitude, when I return from my business trip, I will be scheduling a return of these items to Best Buy. Oh, did I say items? Yes... the matching Samsung dishwasher and microwave are also coming back. Like I said, the LCD looks cool, but it sure doesn't overcome a bad engineering design and some really bad plastic in the system. Avoid this refrigerator.

    epic disaster

This fridge has been an epic disaster. There were delivery problems but that's not the fridge's fault so I'll omit that here. Also I've realized the drawer/door design doesn't make sense to me but I'll omit that as well since that's personal preference and I should've thought it through better before purchasing. The middle drawer was broken when I received it though. More importantly, this fridge is incredibly noisy. Maybe I just have a lemon, but it rattles and hums very loudly when starting up, and then clanks around like an old beat up car when the compressor stops. Sometimes there's a fan that makes a high pitched whining sound. I can hear the stupid thing from the second floor of my home (the fridge is, of course, on the first floor). I had a service person come out from Samsung, and he just said it was intermittent and nothing could be done. Thanks! The touchscreen also has some mind-boggling problems. There's a slideshow feature - great for showing your pictures, right? That's one of the main reasons I wanted the screen, to have a digital picture frame type thing on my fridge. Well, it comes with a dozen or so stock photos of food on it. Great for demoing in the store, but these photos CANNOT BE DELETED. So you put your pictures of your loved ones or travel photos etc., and the thing is flipping through them, and then there's a picture of a hot dog. Seriously Samsung? Also when you use that as a screensaver, the photos don't take up the full screen. The touchscreen is also slow to respond. And when you're changing from cubed ice to crushed etc., it's certainly less convenient than just flipping a switch or pressing a real button. I bought this as part of a full set of Samsung appliances. Everything else worked out, but this fridge is horrible. I'm past the return date (was hoping I could just make peace with it) but now I think I'll just see what I can get for it in credit and buy something else.

This is my second Samsung fridge in only 3 years, the one before broke and after 3 GeekSquad visits, they could not fix it and ended up replacing it. We all know GeekSquad should not be in fridge repair business but that's a separate discussion! This new fridge, the WiFi does not work, you have to have your wireless router right on top of the fridge for the WiFi to work, I have an N router right next room but it gets only one bar and it keeps disconnecting. When I called Samsung, they said "I Should Have Read The Manual Before Buying This Fridge!!!" So save your money and stick the brands we know and that works for decades without any problems. Also, the inside of this fridge is designed so poorly you can hardly fit any large items. You really cannot fit a lot of food or beverages, you need everything in small bottles and small plates!

    Samsung customer service horrible

Fridge not quite as great as it looks on the outside. Compartments are awkward, and ice maker is loud and slow. But the worst is that when the ice maker and freezer stopped working, Samsung did everything they could to avoid warranty service. First, they made us buy and replace the water filter -- which costs $45 by the way! Then they said we had to mail in a copy of our receipt (even though the warranty nowhere says this). After that, a technician was available for 5 days. We just had our fourth technician visit, and fridge still not fixed. Given the high cost, marginal performance, and horrible customer service, I would not recommend this fridge to anyone, or Samsung products in general.

    Slick Design, Poor Performance

Here is a classic case of looks great but poor performance. As far as appliances go, you would a refrig / freezer doesn't have that much to do. Keep the food cold and make ice. This one fails on the second basic task. The ice maker is all cheap plastic and we have replaced outs 4 times plus needed a new motherboard. Thank goodness we got the service plan -- but the inconvenience of having it not working is a real hardship. The Geek Squad repair man said that the ice maker is cheap and we can expect that this will happen over and over. It is not made to withstand the repetitive motion of ice making. I could understand with an older model, but not with a new refrigerator. The design is great, but sometimes you just want a little more.

Touch Screen WiFi isn't worth the money

We purchased this product and in less than a week the touch screen display froze up and the only way to fix it was to press the re-set button. Called and had a new one swapped out thinking it was just a defect in that one. Only to find out 22 days later (which is past the 15 day return policy) that issue happened again. This product was way to expensive to have to re-set all the time. Not to mention you have to have your router or modem with in 6ft of the product to work. If is also noisy due to the ice maker being located in the fridge part. The fan runs all the time to keep the ice from melting. (this I'm finding is true for all french door units) It is also, not the greatest layout for functional use. It's too bad, could have been a really nice fridge. Maybe in another 10 years they will have all the kinks worked out of the french door units.

    Consumer Beware

I bought this a year ago and just had the repairman out and was told that it cannot be fixed! I only had it for a year! First the icemaker went and then the freezer and finally the rest just quit. I called Samsung and they are going to refund the money I paid for it but I am responsible for getting rid of the defective product. This fridge is now $500 more at Best Buy than what I paid for it a year ago! I won't be buying another one. I have seen a lot of others with the same issue. I fell in love it when I first had it, but I highly suggest getting the extended warranty or buying another product! This one won't last! Also, you have to go out and buy another one when this one stops working! Make sure you have an extra freezer in your house!

main cabin of fridge does not keep consistant temp

In order to keep foods safe for consumption they need to be stored at 40 degrees F or below. We are on our 6th refrigerator all with the same issues of the main cabin (top section) not cooling when set to 34 F it cools 45 F average it will occassionally drop to 39 for a small amount of time but the average is about 44-46 F. They cannot seem to correct the problem and it looks like the model has issues if they bring out six and all have the same issue, I recommend you check the main compartment with a good digital thermometer in a glass of water to make sure your unit is cooling for safety issues.,

Where to begin....WiFi not working. Yes we have correct router. Was delivered today, we went and bought groceries as the temps were met correctly. The freezer door won't seal. Lucky for us it keeps temp down but have to wait two days for repair to be evaluated. What is with the ice making off button? Who's brilliant idea was to say we will give them a button that says off that must be off to make ice and on to turn off ice? Will update after BB visits.

Ordering and delivery were perfect, installation was about an hour with the computer set-up. The refrigerator storage and assessibility are great. But, what good is it if the temperature can't be set? Samsung customer service would not send a repair person. So, best buy customer service is sending a replacement. I just hope it works!
