It's a beautiful refrigerator, but I just wonder if it will last 25 years like my recently retired GE. This new showmaker seems fragile to me and it has a lot of technical parts that are ripe for malfunctioning. So far and Ive only had it for 1 full day and it's performing well. The shelves and bins in the outer door are nice, but if you want to put a water bottle in them, forget it. They'll fall over because the shelf is open on both sides. There is no butter compartment and not designated deli drawer. I'm using the vegetable bin. There is no humidity controlled vegetable, fruit or cheese drawer. It remains to be seen how well produce and cheese stays fresh. My old refrigerator had all that. PROGRESS? I could have bought one with all that, but I'm short and french door fridges make it hard or impossible to reach the top and back. This is a pretty unit and I am pleased so far with the way it keeps the temperature even. I like the ice maker and so far it's making it fairly regularly. The water dispenser splashed water everywhere until I realized that you have to hold the container right under the spout. Also, the tech said that at first the water would come out fast and drip a lot. It did. But after a day there's only one drip after it turns off. I just hold the container there to catch it. I really like the ice drawer at the top of the freezer to hold extra ice. I empty the ice bin (which is really easy to remove), into the drawer and can build up a supply for company. I plan to buy a basket or some other container to hold all my freezer items instead of just laying them on a shelf. It has 2, but it doesn't hold everything and I like being able to pull it out to see what I have rather than sifting through the shelf and having to pull things from the back. I love not having a handle on the front. It looks sleek. I haven't begun to experiment with all the features, but so far I'm pleased. BE aware of the size, and if you plan to push it into a slot with walls on each side, you have to allow the fridge to protrude several inches on each side for the doors to open fully. This is annoying because instead of being able to push the fridge all the way to the back wall, I have to have it pulled out in the floor. Otherwise, as I said, you can't open the doors fully to remove bins or shelves and it's hard to reach in with the doors only partially opened.

We have owned other side-by-side refrigerator/freezers but this one is by far the best one we have ever owned. Couldn't be happier with the product or the price.

    Good not Great

Well like many of you probably are thinking, the door is a gimick, and not something you will use beyond the first few weeks. I was that guy, as I stood in front of a row of refrigerators at the local Best Buy, but we liked the style, and it came in 28.7 Cu.Ft size, and we had the room, so we bought away! First i'll admit this, the door is one of the better features, we almost use it exclusively, only opening the full door for very large items. We have learned to organize the smaller door for about 90% of our items we use daily. So one star for proving me wrong, I like the door Second, this thing is quiet, some reviewers said it was loud, it does make noise when it drops ice, the ice maker is in the door, but unless you use quite a bit of ice, this won't be an issue. I might hear it drop once or 2 a day. Third, this thing is solid, and has a ton of space, we had the french door model last time and the bottom freezer always became a jumbled mess, the side by side virtually stopped this, and with the size we even found ourselves with empty shelves in the freezer. Now the Cons, and by cons, not deal breakers, but if fixed would make this a 5 star fridge. The lighting in the refrigerator isn't bright enough in the back of the box. The front few items are fine, and its not like you cannot see in the box, but a light along the back of the box would have really helped especially at night. Then there is my biggest grief, and if it were just for the light, this could be a 5 star refrigerator, but the ice dispenser is so slow, I find myself opening the door to get ice, because its quicker then using the door dispenser. It takes over 15 seconds for the dispenser to even recognize you are pushing the lever, then when it finally catches its drops once cube every 3 to 5 seconds. While this might not sound like a long time, its quite slow compared to about ever other refrigerator I have ever owned, or used. All in all not a deal breaker, but definitely our number one complaint, Its supposed to be a selling feature, but we rarely use it. The water dispenser is great, although its not chilled, which I did find a bit odd, again not a big deal. You can also fill a gallon jug of water from the door dispenser if you tilt it slightly, which we do quite often to fill the coffee machine or make instant drinks. Fix the ice machine and this thing is very good, get the lights as well and its great, fit and finish are excellent.

    Best Refrigerator I have owned

The Samsung Showcase Refrigerator is by far the best one that I have ever owned. This is the 4th Refrigerator we have had in our homes. We have only owned GE refrigerators before. The Samsung refrigerator out does them all. I did a ton of research through Consumer Reports, reading reviews online and thoroughly checking them out in the stores. I was blown away that Samsung was one of the top rated refrigerators on the market. After owning ours for over 1 month, I completely agree. Pros: First highlight is the useable space within the refrigerator. Our old refrigerator was 25 Cubic Feet. The new Showcase is 28.7 Cubic Feet. I was surprised by how much more space was available with the extra 3.7 cubic feet. The second highlight is the Showcase door. It is a great feature for just grabbing drinks out of the fridge. The 3rd highlight is how quiet the refrigerator is. I read some reviews about the noise of the ice maker. After owning it for over 1 month I didn’t even know that it was on. Our old GE Fridge was really loud I guess. Regarding the reviews about the noise of the ice maker. If you’ve never owned a refrigerator with an ice maker before, then yes it is loud when the ice drops. However, having 3 refrigerators with an ice maker, this actually seemed quieter than our previous refrigerators. Final highlight is the stainless steel. I noticed it when in the Best Buy showroom, that the finish was much cleaner on this refrigerator than the competition. This Showcase refrigerator was also out front for the refrigerator section, so you know it got the most traffic. It stays very clean and doesn’t get the smudges like the other stainless steel refrigerators I compare it too. In the month that we have had it, I think we may have wiped some smudges off once. Cons: The only con which I did read reviews for is the lighting within the fridge. I do agree that Samsung could have done a much better job with the lighting. It does seem dark in the back of the fridge. If tend to go to the fridge in the middle of the night with all of the lights off, this may be a distractor. However, if you normally open the fridge with your lights on in the kitchen, this won’t be much of a problem. Overall – This is a fantastic refrigerator and highly recommended.

We WRESTLED with this purchase for almost a year. And we have only had this fridge for two months, so keep that in mind! BUT! We love it. First of all, in the first couple days it was making strange noises. We contacted Best Buy (we had purchased their extended warranty), and within days they just brought us a whole new fridge. Thankfully, the 2nd one never made the strange noises. I wasn't sure if I would like the Showcase door, but I LOVE it. We keep salad dressing, sodas, snacks for the kids, juice and coffee creamer...all the things I need to get to on a regular basis...in the showcase door. The gallon size shelf holds, a carton of milk, a carton of Almond milk, a gallon of OJ, another quart of milk, and a large coffee creamer with NO PROBLEMS. The pull out shelf inside if so handy! The capacity is huge. We have so much more room, and the fridge can go back almost all the way to the wall and the handles are flush, so it doesn't stick out any more than our last fridge. We almost got the LG door-in-door with the push button to open the small door and I'm SO glad we didn't, because we would have never remembered to push that 2nd door close. It's just not intuitive to remember to push a fridge door closed, especially for kids and grandparents. The showcase door just closes on it's own. And the large door opens all the way, 180 degrees, which is great! The only thing I don't love is that the ice comes out a little slowly, and the ice capacity is on the small side, but that's the same with any fridge with ice on the door--the freezer space is WORTH IT, so I'm not letting it impact my review. Bottom line, 2 months in, we LOVE IT. However, for over $2k, when it started making loud noises in the first few days, I was SO glad we had that warranty, because if we didn't...I would have been furious. Especially after reading how hard it is to get a hold of Samsung. Geek Squad is EASY to get a hold of. Highly recommend both the fridge AND warranty!

We've been using the fridge for a little over a month now and to date we are very satisfied with it's performance. It looks great in our kitchen, fits like a glove between our cabinets and provides good storage with over 28 cubic feet of interior space. The controls on the door are easy to use and the temperature setting is accurate. I know because I tested using a stand alone thermometer to verify. The showcase is great once you have items organized and are comfortable using the feature. This model could use one more storage drawer (3 rather than 2) or perhaps a container to hold eggs but we have worked around that. Some reviews which I have previously read complained about dim LED lighting. We have found the lighting to be sufficient. The ice maker is a bit loud when the ice drops to the storage bin but its tolerable considering that it happens only a few times per day, depending on usage. The Android app is weak and needs improvement. Since we didn't buy this model for it's WiFi access (WiFi was not listed in the product description) that's not a problem for us. All things considered, we are very happy with the purchase.

Overall: I like the fridge but it's not worth full price. It's a very pricey price that similar fridges provide the same functionality. The Pros: - The refrigerator is large which is what I wanted. - Drawers and shelves slide easily - Door trays are removable for easy cleaning - sectioning off areas is easy with the design - ice production is pretty fast and theirs a drawer that can be used for storing additional ice The Cons: - The doors are heavy (note I may need to adjust the legs to help correct). I did accidentally close the door on my finger and it hurt. If it was an infant they would have lost their finger. - The half door looses its allure after a month. If everyone put everything in the same place all the time, it would be great but that isn't reality in a house of four. - I came home one day and the refrigerator shut off for some reason. I had to google the fix which was holding two buttons at the same time for 3 seconds. I have no idea why this occurred. - I wish it had one more drawer as opposed to two drawers in the refrigerator.

This ice maker is ssss llll oooooo wwwww, slow, slow. Slow to use, slow to refill, just plain slow. Other than that, the showcase thing is cool and all my neighbors now realize I am cool also. The kids trick all of their friends by asking them to open the door and get something. Then watch as they think they split the door or something. We got the bigger version and for the first time ever, the garage fridge is not being used. This thing is huge and has good LED lighting. Other than the ice maker, which is not a deal breaker once you get used to it, this is a nice fridge with a wow factor.

overall very satisfied with our purchase of this fridge. It has plenty of room compared to our previous fridge which had 25.4 cu feet. We lilke the clean look and the showcase works well for our "quick grab" items. Reason why we didnt give it a full 5 star rating is the lack of adjustablilty of the refrigerator door shelves. If you shop at a Costco/Sams club, you will have some trouble putting larger containers of mayo, mustard, ketchup, coffee creamer, etc in a few of the door shelves. Adjustability would of solved this. But we organized it to work for us. We read the reviews before buying this fridge and this was a common complaint. People also complained about the lack of lighting towards the rear of the freezer and fridge. This has not bothered us for there is still ample lighting to see *see pics* The ice maker works well and is not as loud as people have said it is. Sounds all normal to us. Something else to take note of is our old fridge, which was stainless, was not 100% stainless. Our fridge magnets would still somewhat stick. THIS samsung, magnets DO NOT stick to it. The ice cubes are decent size and drop out well into our glasses. there is a slight delay when you first push the lever, but nothing to gripe about.

The good parts: Design, fit, space, light, temp control, and most useful front door. Not having to fully open fridge almost ever is Great, easy and convenient. The bad: It gets a bit noise at random times for no apparent reason. Had a Frigidaire for nearly 20 yrs prior to this upgrade and it never made this much noise. Have had feel guys out a few times to check on it but sadly it never gets as loud when they are around. As I said it's random. But so long as the noise doesn't affect the performance or longevity of the machine I can live with it as it is rare. Hope this helps.

Nice fridge. Lots of space. Even in the freezer side. So much more room since the ice maker is 100% in the door. Would be nice if the front doors were magnetic, but they are not. Only the sides are. The wireless feature (android app) is neat as it will tell you the power consumption per month and you can control the settings of the fridge as if you where at the front panel. Two things I have found that I don't like about it. 1) The ice dispenser seems to take a while to start dispensing the ice. Granted it is only 4-5 seconds, but I guess I am just used to my previous 10 year old fridge. 2) It doesn't come in white :( Over all, very nice fridge.

Read reviews & some indicated loud noise at night. No problem with noise, only hear ice cubes fall every once in a while. Outside showroom door is great to just grab drinks and snacks without opening up the refrigerator every time. Did take the refrigerator about 2 days to get to 35degrees, but once there keeps everything cold & plenty of room for items.

I love the showcase door so over look my other issues. I have located removeable refrigerator containers which gives me better storage options for deli items since I don't have a deli drawer, but the shelf does slide out which is convenient for large items when I want it. I have only had my fridge for a week so am still working out the kinks with the ice maker. It makes ice quickly but even though on cubed, wants to give me crushed until I keep pressing cubed. May have to call geek squad. Fridge gets cold and freezer is just right. Would buy it again.

We are a family of 3 and this is a roomy, well designed refrigerator that fits perfectly into a snug corner of our kitchen. We love (and use) the door in door feature as well as the water and ice dispenser.. There is plenty of room in the freezer and even though we have a full size freezer in our basement, we find we are storing much more in this frig than in our old side by side. We are very happy with the look and feel of this refrigerator and with this purchase in general!

This Samsung fridge is amazing! Some things I liked about it when I first purchased it were: 1. The secondary screen door to the fridge portion it's really intuitive. With a family with 4 sons opening and closing and opening again, it really helps save electricity when they an just open the secondary door, look at the shelves, a peek through the open space into the fridge and close it right away. 2. The storage space for leftovers, fruits, meats, and vegetables is phenomenal. Especially there is room to fit whole watermelons and party trays for the next day. The shelves on the door can slide so when you open the secondary door, it is really to access, especially for drinks. 3. The steel finish is really pleasing to the eyes. Everyone who enters the kitchen of my home move there heads twice when passing it thinking, "Wow, that is a nice fridge". Thank you for reading my review, I don't know if it was any help to you, but these are my feeling about this amazing fridge.

Wonderful refrigerator. The size is right for the two of us, a large family would think it is too small. The only problem we've had is that the ice-maker sometimes jams up (a small piece of ice gets stuck and the ice ejector stalls). A nice geek squad guy walked me through clearing the jam (remove the stuck piece) and told me how to find the reset button. Piece of cake, except we don't know the thing is jammed until we've run out of ice.

The showcase door is a great feature. Easy access to frequently used items all while limiting exposure of the inner regions of the unit. There is a large amount of storage space that is further utilized by drawers under shelves and drawers available from the showcase door. This unit is very well thought out and smart. The only downside is fingerprinting, it shows on the handles and doors

This is the most innovative fridge in last 20 yrs!. French door is all good but the food just gets lost in the blackhole with time consuming inevitable searching. i like the original side by side design just because of that. this Fridge is large at 28 cu and it is cold!!!!.. even the showcase is cold.. excellent fridge. fridge is wifi and you can download a useless samsung app a 5 yr old put togther which shows you the temperature of the fridge. uh it also shows you on the display of the fridge.. unless you are storing vital organs or medication not sure u need to know temperature that bad..
