I had a white Samsung of the same design that was 8 years old. Nothing wrong with it but I just wanted everything to match. My range and dishwasher were 17 years old and needed to be replaced. I decided to purchase a matching refrigerator. I appreciate the rework of the ice maker. My previous on had a little space between the wall and the ice unit. This caused problems with the ice auger freezing up. I would need to use a hair dryer to free it up. The newer model addressed this issue. I also like the temp controls on the inside wall and not on the outside of the door as the older one had. This is nice. I like the black stainless. If you have water issues you could show white scale or residue a little easier

I dread the silver stainless steel look and got this in the black stainless and it is first class. Love the way the compartments are arranged. The guys who delivered the unit were the best I ever had - very polite and courteous.
