It’s more than annoying and wouldn’t recommend purchasing this item. Another concern is that the geek squad install team did not deliver on the expectations set from the store (hiding wires-even though the higher priced install was paid). In the future I would recommend having a professional home theater team install. 2 stars because it is not user friendly and sound drops in and out with Samsung ARC enabled tv.

Thank you for choosing this Samsung Soundbar. I apologize for the issues you are having with the soundbar and TV ARC.
Here are a few things you can check to resolve the ARC issue:
1) Make sure the TV has the latest software version
2) Try setting the digital audio output setting on the TV to PCM
3) Try a different HDMI cable. The cable should be a high-speed HDMI cable capable of 4K/30Hz
4) Please make sure you are running the latest firmware update which includes improved connectivity. You can update your firmware ver. 1016.0 by Auto Update, using the SmartThings app, or by using a USB device.

The gentleman that installed our tv & soundbar did not want to do the install. He tried to explain how to do it and leave. He said it would be easy to do. I told him that I wanted him to do and we had paid to have it done. I was very frustated. He did finally stay and do the install but I'm not quite sure he did everything correctly. He left as soon as he could. We were very dissapointed with the install needless to say.

To enhance your audio experience, you can optimize audio performance for your specific content by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME PRO, or ADAPTIVE SOUND
You can further adjust TREBLE and BASS via the SOUND CONTROL button (looks like a gear symbol).
