I could not get it to connect using HDMI. I got it connected via Bluetooth, but not what I wanted. Great sound, easy to adjust to my preferences. Glad I bought it, just wish I could have connected it differently.

Thank you for your review of the Samsung HW-M550 Audio Soundbar. I am sorry to hear that you had some control issues with this soundbar
Please know that this model can be connected to your TV via HDMI.
Here is the step-by-step guide for your reference:
1. With the Soundbar and TV turned on, connect the HDMI cable (not supplied).
2. “TV ARC” appears in the display window of the Soundbar main unit and the Soundbar plays TV
sound.
• If TV sound is inaudible, press the (Source) button on the remote control or on the right side
of the Soundbar to switch to “D.IN” mode. The screen displays “D.IN” and “TV ARC” in sequence,
and the TV sound is played.
• If “TV ARC” does not appear in the display window of the Soundbar main unit, confirm that the
cable is connected to the correct port.
• Use the volume buttons on the TV’s remote control to change the volume on the Soundbar.

The deciding factor was the third speaker for voice. I can hear speech much clearer now without having to crank up the volume. It also balances out loud noises as well for a more pleasing audio experience. I considered the Bose speaker bar as well but I’m pleased with my decision.

We mounted this behind our couch so we can hear the TV without waking up the kids at night. The quality of the speakers is very good. The sound bar has a metal mesh surrounding it. No more cloth. Big plus for us with little curious kids. The system connected to the TV via Bluetooth within minutes and shuts off when we turn off the TV. We do have to turn it on separately when we turn on the TV though. Overall great product.
