Thank you for purchasing this Samsung HW-M550 Soundbar System.
I am sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with its low volume.
Please check the connection between the Soundbar and other source devices, and try the following tips that may help improve the volume level.
1. If the Soundbar is connected to a TV thru HDMI, make sure to use the HDMI-ARC jack on the TV and select “External speakers” as the TV sound output.
2. Check the audio output format sent to the Soundbar. Typical options are PCM, Dolby Digital, and Bitstream. Select the option that optimizes the sound from your source.
3. Change the SOUND MODE on the Soundbar using the Soundbar’s remote. Choices are STANDARD, MUSIC, CLEAR VOICE, SPORTS, or MOVIE. Select the appropriate mode for the individual room acoustics.
4. Turn on Dynamic Range Control. This is done by pressing and holding the SOUND MODE button on the remote control while the Soundbar is in standby mode.
We also recommend users update the software to the latest version, so that the unit would keep up with improvements and compatibility enhancements. The software updates can be performed via the Multiroom App on your mobile device, or via manual download from Samsung.com/support

Not to complain, but to join the party because the sound quality was oh so crisp.

The only way for the sound to appear normal is via Bluetooth. Also the sub doesn’t have thumping Bass when paired to my tv. I can pair my iPhone and the bass is awesome. For some reason this sound system doesn’t like my Samsung Tv. I swapped the first out for another one thinking the first was a dud, but that wasn’t the case.

We then went to Best Buy and with the advice of one of the guys, we purchased this soundbar. My husband very much likes it and it works good with out TV.

Without it, my home theater experience would not be anywhere near as great as it is. Do get the rear speakers, and then you will be immersed in full surround sound, that truly truly works amazingly. It was confusing to get the rear speakers working flawlessly, so I googled the model number and easily found a recommended setting for the system, and that made it the most amazing immersive surround sound experience ever-- for music, television, movies, sports, everything.

But don't expect theater type "blow you away" kind of sound. Also - have had the Bluetooth connection disconnect a couple of times since installing it about a month ago. Both times was able to get it going again easy enough so not the end of the world - but keeping an eye on this issue in the future.

Sound is awesome and gives a noticeable improvement over standard TV volume or basic SS systems. Does exactly what it needs to, and can't beat it at it's current price.

But when I got it home and set it up, I was disappointed at the lack of bass coming out of the sub-woofer. (Of course, I listened to it at the store but with so much noise around, it's difficult to truly hear how it sounds.) I have the bass set as high as possible but it still doesn't create a "full" sound. I'm pretty disappointed with it, to be honest.

The other reviews on the subwoofer are accurate in that it is not loud even when turned to its' highest volume. I won't complain about the unit since the clarity of voices is greatly improved and I got a good price as an open box item.

Got this product and it’s almost like being in the theater. The bass is behind the couch and will vibrate and makes it a great part of the experience.
