I love this Samsung surround sound set. A huge improvement from our previous set, which had long annoying wires to connecting the sub to the bar, not to mention the connection to the TV, xbox, playstation, etc. Whereas this Samsung is capable of a compl wireless set up!!

Has an Exhilarating Sound! You will Enjoy

This sound bar is for those who appreciate natural, well balanced, detailed sound. Nothing about the sound profile is blatant, or overwhelming, including the subwoofer. It just reproduces the sound the way it was intended. Movies/TV shows/Music all sound polished and whole. It has five different sounds eq’s which do a good job depending on your preference and what’s playing. I find that the ‘game’ and ‘Dts Virtual X’ modes sound the best for what I’m usually watching. However ‘standard’ is a solid, honest sounding profile; ‘surround sound’ just slightly adds to ‘standard’ with amplified effects; ‘smart sound’ is similar to ‘game’ in that it changes dynamically with what’s being played to give you a more defined sound. I usually prefer ‘game’ as my go to. ‘Dts Virtual X’ is for when you want the fullest immersive sound, but can sound a little artificial at times. However it actually does give you that vertical sound dimension to create the 3D effect. Btw I have it all hooked up through optical cable. One BIG thing that is noteworthy, is that this sound bar sounds best in SMALLER spaces. If you are placing it in a larger living room, or replacing an older component home theater system, then this won’t compete. In fact sound quality takes a big hit in large spaces. The room just swallows the system resulting in a thin, two-dimensional, weak sound. It sounds only half as good when compared side by side to my Bose 2.1ch system (see pic) in my living room. But when moved to my bedroom it sounds amazing! One last note for those who are crazy about bass and subwoofer performance. The sub has a lot of power and can get very hard hitting when increased. I like it at the neutral level which is 0. It goes from -12 to +6. It’s sounds very boomy at times if it’s above 0. It also doesn’t produce the really low sub level frequencies. And when playing music, it can get a little messy sounding, not as defined as I would like. But overall it blends seamlessly with the sound bar. Almost like it doesn’t exist as a separate module, which is a big plus.

Great Sound, if it works with your tv

Overall a great sound from this system. Easily connected to the subwoofer and the sound quality is better than what the tv could provide. I would give this 5 stars if it was just a stand-alone unit and not connected to the tv. When I purchased this soundbar, I also bought a Sony 65 inch LCD tv. The sales rep really pushed us toward this sound bar, and we were on the fence on getting one anyway. The sound bar doesn't exactly work great with a Samsung tv. The Optical connection randomly shuts off the sound bar and I have to get up and power cycle it from the unit, remote won't respond. With an HDMI connection, the sound quality does drop a little, but The sound bar does stay on (although I think it's actually supposed to turn off when I turn the tv off, it doesn't). No matter what form of connection I use, the soundbar does randomly have random breaks in sound. happens roughly every 10 minutes or so, and it's out for about a second and then comes back in. Not sure why it does this, it's a little annoying but my best guess is it's just an incompatibility issue between the sound bar and the Samsung tv.

We purchased a new Samsung Q60T 55" TV and wanted a sound bar for it as well. We looked at more expensive sound bars but after doing some research on different blogs and customer reviews, we settled on the HW-T650 3.1 Samsung Soundbar. Not disappointed in its overall performance. Very easy to set up and pair with new TV. I am sure a more expensive soundbar may have a little more bass & treble out of larger or more powerful speakers but for our use in our great room, it works just fine. We have about 8 different Samsung products (tvs, dvd players, speakers, etc.) in our house and we have always been satisfied with the quality and life of every Samsung product we have purchased.

I bought this to replace an old surround sound system and what an upgrade! We went with the Samsung system since we have a Samsung 4K TV. Also purchased the rear wireless speakers. Setup was pretty simple (although we had to repeat the process because we scanned through the instructions too quickly at first). So my advice is to go slow and follow the instructions and you should be fine. Once up and running, we are very satisfied with the sound quality, but I admit that we are not audiophiles. It sounds good to us and we were able to program our Xfinity remote to control the soundbar too. Price was reasonable, as I didn’t want to drop $1K+ on a higher end bar.

Good price for a solid sound system. It’s easy to setup and has multiple input options. I used optical. Bluetooth connectivity was quick and reliable. Sound is very good for music, television, and movies. The system will be used in my unfinished basement workout room, so it serves my needs for a good price. It is also expandable if I want to add rear speakers.

I looked over a lot of reviews and did some personal comparisons before my purchase, I also drilled the Best Buy employee to ensure I'd get a decent sound bar under $300.00 and there isn't a day I'm not enjoying my purchase. Great sound and very simple to set up with enough ports in back for the price. Hope this was useful.

I bought this sound bar to replace my LG bar when the subwoofer went out. Not only does it sound amazing, but the bass is amazing as well. I watch a lot of movies and play games so the sound is clear and the bass is top quality. The sound bar is not expensive which is nice, but it’s definitely worth the money.

Pros - Easy set-up, able to control with TV remote or the remote provided. Cons - Takes a bit to figure out the menu display, connecting cable to bass could be another foot longer. Sound is best when the base is placed next to a wall. Bass is strong and you'll feel the rumble as if you were at the the movies. Good price for what you get and better sound than higher priced units.

Great sound, Easy set-up with Samsung big screen TV. Only issue is I can't control base subwoofer volume with TV "universal" control. Must use sound bar control that looks almost like universal. Got the bar for a good price as part of package deal purchase.

Great product for the price! I did a lot of research before purchasing and am not disappointed! Very easy setup (5 minutes) and the product is simple to use. If you have a Samsung Smart TV then your remote for that can control it and vice versa. Sound quality is decent. Bass could be a little stronger. Soundbar is located in a fairly large room so bass is a little weak for this size room. Also have a Bose soundtouch 500 with bass and it is thundering but 4 times the cost. This is a nice mid-level unit that really enhances regular tv watching, video games and movies.

I've always been an audio guy that has a receiver and surround sound systems, and I never understood why people bought sound bar systems. While I still prefer my surround sound system, I am very happy with this sound bar as a second setup. It's great for most people that don't want a complicated setup or multiple speakers. It looks very clean in front of the TV, and the subwoofer connects wirelessly (only power required). I had a chance to listen to this (T650) and the T450 in the store for side-by-side comparison and the sound was significantly better from the T650 with the addition of a center channel for voice. I mainly bought this one because I recently bought a Samsung television and wanted something that would integrate seamlessly. Another reviewer complained that it doesn't turn on with their TV, but mine turns on right away when I turn the TV on. I can also control the volume from the television remote which simplifies things tremendously. I assumed that I would have to connect it with HDMI in order to get the volume control to work from the TV remote, but it turns out you can use the included optical cable. Samsung TVs will automatically connect to this over bluetooth for the volume control, all I had to do was tell the TV to output sound to the optical channel in the audio setup. There are a few different sound modes, including standard, game, and DTS modes. All of them seem to sound pretty good for their intended purpose. Overall, I'm very happy with this setup. It's extremely easy to set up, easy to use with one remote, and the sound is significantly better than from the TV speakers. If you have a Samsung TV you can't go wrong with this.
