Doesn’t make ice bits

Less than a month in and have had two calls into Samsung and a service tech out once for the freezer ice not making ice bits. It makes cubes but not bits. This is the second fridge in 3 years. First was LG (don’t buy LG. They have bad service) and now issues with Samsung. At least the service has been much better.

Samsung sells an awesome refrigerator. We love the fact that it’s wireless and it has most of the top apps people have on their phones. My surveillance cameras link to it as well. I can get recipes on it and look inside without opening the door. The stainless steel leaves no fingerprints and this refrigerator is BIG!

The product is fine (so far at least). However, it's the Best Buy service, which leaves a lot to ask for. BEWARE - when you're availing their appliance delivery and haul-away services, they're not only not free - you have to pay for both separately (i.e. $60 and $30 respectively for this product). But worst of all, apparently, when your appliances need to be moved, i.e. in my case, the old fridge from the kitchen needed to be moved to the utility room to make room for the new fridge and the other old fridge in the utility room needed to be hauled away.
In order to move the kitchen fridge to the utility room, they needed to take the fridge doors off to be able to get the fridge through the utility room door. And after they assembled it back and left, we noticed within a few minutes, one of the vertical doors and one of the horizontal drawers were not closing properly, resulting in the fridge lights staying on and an alarm going off.
I had the phone number of the delivery person, who had called earlier to let me know they were on the way. We called him and left him a message not more than 5 minutes after he had left. And when he didn't call back after a couple of hours, I called Best Buy Customer Service to report the issue. That's when they announced to me (to my utter surprise/horror), that according to their delivery policy, they are only required to disassemble part(s) of the fridge for move but they are not required to assemble them back. I said, what?? So, am I supposed to re-assemble them back? That's not my trade. That's why I hired them and paid for it separately too. And if that is indeed the case, why did they assemble it back, incorrectly as it may? They said they did that out of courtesy. But I shouldn't expect them to come back and fix it now. That I would have to do it myself. So, when I pushed them, if they were not supposed to reassemble it back, they just shouldn’t have done so. What if they have damaged my fridge in the process of reassembling it back, when they’re not supposed to do so in the first place. And if that is the case, I would like them to take responsibility for it and pay for any repairs. That’s when they agreed to send a technician to come and fix it in a couple of days (who was able to fix the issues eventually). I further told them, if their delivery service has all these limitations, they should disclose them clearly in bold print before customers make the decision to buy a product from them and have it delivered, so they can decide accordingly. And I asked them to direct me to their policy document, describing these details. Their customer service person took several minutes looking for it on their website and failing to find the pertinent information, just told me, I would have to look through the fine print myself! Never experienced anything of this sort with other appliance delivery services before.
And if this issue was not bad enough, during the delivery itself, the delivery guy seemed incredibly rushed. He assembled all the parts of the new fridge with all sticky wraps still on them. He told us, they’re only required to take those sticky wraps off from the exterior but not the interior. And they were in such a hurry, they wouldn’t even wait for us to take those sticky wraps off before they assembled the fridge and put all the shelves and drawers inside. We didn’t realize at that time, just how hard it becomes to take those sticky wraps off, once they are assembled. We had to take out each and every shelf and drawer out of the fridge afterwards to take those sticky wraps off. We even had to take some of the door shelves out, in order to be able to get some of the fridge drawers out! Took us several hours, which should have only taken minutes had this been done before assembling the fridge. Something other delivery services (from my previous experience) do without even having to ask for it. Just horrible experience overall!!
I would recommend this product. But try to buy it from elsewhere if you can.

The unit originally arrived with a water leak. Ended up leaking water into our floor. Samsung customer service was absolutey no help. Should have listened to the reviews about samsung major appliances. Last week in its 8th month, the freezer stopped working. Im out 100s in food. This was a huge disappointment. I dont think i will ever purchase a samsung appliance. I have read somewhere that these units need to have their coils cleaned every 3-6 mos. That would be a deal breaker for 95 percent of consumers.

Purchased this Samsung fridge to replace our LG knock knock which has given us issues for years with multiple replacements and service calls due to freezing and compressor issues.
The experience has been great so far! Love the 4 types of ice, ice scooper, and really love the family hub. We can listen to Spotify music, add notes, grocery lists, view apps, add pictures and also receive notifications when someone has left the door open on the fridge. Great fridge so far.
