The television I ultimately chose turned out to be one with which I was well pleased. I am particularly pleased with the clarity of the picture and the 3-D stand-out appearance of the people involved really adds to the pleasure of watching the shows. Prior to this purchase, I was not really well acquainted with the quality of Samsung televisions...was so familiar to the brands of prior years; the TV that conked out...after many , many years was a Magnavox. I would now be willing to recommend this Samsung brand television.

This is our first SmartTV. Love the picture, love the built in functionality, easy setup, awesome picture. Love it so much that we bought another one!

TV was easy to set up, beautiful clear picture and being a Smart TV, we were able to replace two of our remote controls. Now we just have to use one.

This TV was found for a great deal (open-box) at the Best Buy Outlet Store. I'd already done my research, to determine it was something I wanted, and the Outlet store price beat every regular store sale / open-box price. The Smart functions didn't work upon start-up. This is an issue identified on Samsung's website (also w/ other 2016 Smart TV initial downloads / updates). Wi-Fi, USB, and Wired (Ethernet) set-up could not be completed, despite a really fast internet speed. ***Advise: be aware that the Outlet stores do NOT accept returns / exchanges. However, this being a manufacturer fault, I was at least able to get my money back. With a new TV (same model, also open-box, Geek-Squad-certified), it updated perfectly. Pros: Picture is fantastic! This 5500 is slightly more $$ than the 5205 (of the same size), but the difference is noticeable to me (despite the specs being identical); the size is perfect for the medium-size bedroom / office; the stand configuration (center-based, rather than legs at opposing ends, as w/ the 5205) is best for counter tops with limited space. Cons: Just slightly more expensive (about $25-40) than the least expensive 1080p / full HD 32" TV at Best Buy. I advise that if your budget allows, and you seek HD programming (or to also use your TV w/ a computer, via HDMI...), to pay attention to the differences between 720, & 1080 resolutions. Do a literal, side-by-side, comparison, if possible, and you may (also) see the difference.

Bought this as a PC monitor with the idea it could be repurposed as a television later, for just a bit more than a good quality monitor. After adjusting it to my PC video card (relatively easy with the on-screen controls), the detail is as good as any HD monifor. The remote conrol is a great feature plus all of the built-in functions like Netflix & Hulu.

Bought as a bedroom TV..excellent all around. Picture is great as is the sound. Very easy setup. On sale price was a fantastic deal. Very satisfied.

This is my 2nd UN32J5500. Bought 1st one about 8 mos. ago. This one replaces my UN32F6300 which died a premature death. The 5500 has a motion rate of 60, the 6300 had a motion rate of 120. The picture on the 5500 easily matches that of the 6300 for half the price. The reason I bought the 5500 was that it has all the features, including I/O ports that the 6300 does for much less money and has a comparable picture. I appreciate the multiple HDMI ports especially as I have 2 DVRs and another HDMI device.

Great value for the cost. Picture and color is crystal clear. Set up directions are clear and straight forward. Easy set up and easy navigation.
