The quality is disappointing for Samsung although it's probably ok for the pricing. The HDR looks washed out when viewing video output but that may be due to the bit depth. It's ok to use for gaming but the refresh rate is only 60.

So I am a serious pc gamer. When I am not working or at the gym, I’m typically playing PC. Mainly warzone plus a few other titles. So I wanted a second monitor with a 4K resolution at 32 inches. To play high fidelity vs high refresh rate. So I got this one hoping it to be as beautiful as my 27 inch ips that I have as well. And being that this monitor is VA the colors suffer a a tad bit. The viewing angles are actually very good. But the panel does not “pop” as I hoped. That’s why I gave 4 stars. Now 4 stars is a definite recommend. But Samsung makes great panels. And I know this is not a Qled so it’s understandable. The other minor issue is the hdr. HDR is great especially paired with ray tracing. But since this panel has a lower nit brightness it suffers a little bit. I still use the hdr either way. But I wish it was brighter. While gaming the response time is rated at 5ms I believe and it feels that way. Very smooth at the faster setting. No issues there. Screen is big so that makes up for those minor issues. Menu buttons are very easy to use and sit right in the middle under the screen. The stand can’t be adjusted but it sits at a perfect height. And is a flat stand design which I prefer. I can rest my little Bluetooth speaker on it. Simple but clean design over all. Great overall picture quality, great size and a fair price for what this monitor offers.

Before submitting this review, I wanted to give this at least one full work week of using it. I was using a very old Vizio 32” TV that was given to me as a secondary monitor and this Samsung is replacing it. One thing that I want to mention is that I’m not a PC gamer, so I won’t review this monitor based on gaming. This monitor was tested out on two Windows 10 laptops (one work, one personal) and a 2017 MacBook Pro (Intel processor). My primary use for this is working from home. Features – this is a simple monitor with regards to functions and inputs. It only has two inputs: a Display Port and HDMI. I don’t need a crazy number of inputs, and this suits my needs well. The power and menu buttons are underneath the middle of the monitor, which allows the thin bezel and a cleaner look. This is the first time I’ve used a monitor this thin, but I like it. Getting used to the buttons underneath took a little bit of time, but not too long. The monitor has some cool features like power saving and modes to prevent eye strain. Hardware setup – this monitor is extremely easy to setup and comes with an HDMI cable. If you’re installing the monitor base by yourself, you’ll want to keep the shipping foam and protective cover handy, this makes it easier to put it together by yourself. The base attaches by two screws and feels sturdy. The base does not adjust up and down, so if this is something you need, you might want to look for another monitor. You can also attach this monitor to a mount if you prefer to use it this way. Software setup Windows 10 – I tried to use Windows 10 Device Manager to go out to the internet for an updated driver. This didn’t work for me, so I hopped on the Samsung website and found a driver for Windows 10 (.exe only, no .dmg for Mac users). Since I’m using Microsoft Edge, I had to clear bypass the security settings to keep the install. When I opened the install, the first prompt was all in Japanese. It’s easy to navigate past this and I still got the driver installed. I didn’t notice much of a difference after it installed, except that Windows has a dedicate color profile for the monitor. Instructions also state that you can download an Easy Setting Box software, which I downloaded and installed, but didn’t mess around with too much. Looks like you can split your screen into different sections, which is cool, but I am kind of set in my ways with how my apps are setup on this monitor for work. When I first got the monitor, the device driver didn’t show up on the Samsung website, but I eventually found it. This was a tad clunky, because I did select the right options and only saw the manual and quick start guide. Mac OS Big Sur – There is no dedicated driver for Mac OS Big Sur, so I just plugged it in and used the System Preferences > Display settings to change resolutions and color. Resolution – Compared to the TV I was using; this display is so much better. I am using the default max resolution of 3840 x 2160 and don’t have any issues. Both Windows and MacOS set the resolution to the highest by default. Text appears to be crisp, clear, and the colors on it look very nice. This monitor is also easy on my eyes, so I don’t feel as much strain when I’m done with my workday. It doesn’t appear that I have a powerful enough built-in graphics card on my Windows 10 laptop to support HDR, but it still looks good. My MacBook Pro resolution still looks great as well. Overall, I would recommend this monitor. Again, I am not a PC gamer, so I am not reviewing that aspect of the monitor. This suits my work needs and the resolution makes it much easier on my eyes. This monitor does what I need and looks great! My only gripe is that it took me a little while to find the driver, even though plug and play worked just fine with no issues.

I’ve been using this monitor for a few days and really enjoy it. It’s not the most decked out monitor I’ve used, but it gets the job done. Pending on who you ask, you’ll find the price is either spot on or just a tad expensive. The current price is $350+ on Best Buy and I feel like it could have a few more bells and whistles. If this were $299, well then it’d be a no brain purchase! I realize though if it offered more features, it’d be more pricey. I’ll be using this for streaming and work, not gaming. I’ve had to tune it several times to my liking, but I think I found the right settings. To be honest, I wasn’t impressed initially out of the box for this price. Looks and feel – Study stand. Clean lines make this look nice and modern. It’s minimal, yet pretty to look at. The button placement directly under the logo makes it a little awkward to adjust, but it’s not a deal breaker. Picture Quality – Decent, but a bit disappointing for a 4k monitor. I have this monitor set up next to my high-end dell monitor and in many ways it’s crisper. I really can’t complain, but my dell monitor wasn’t nearly this expensive so I won’t keep it in the same regards. It has a refresh rate of 60 Hz, so you have to keep that in mind. Best to use it for – Streaming and work. As I previously mentioned, I’ve had to tune it a few times. It’s setup in my office and it goes from extremely bright to dark throughout the day. I finally figured out the tuning and must say, it rocks. It’s being used a computer and solely for surfing the internet and streaming. It does a great job for stuff like Hulu and Netflix. If you’re a gamer or looking to game on this, I suggest a different screen. Hardcore gamers know what they want and this might not be for them. Pros: Energy efficient Size Fine tuning ability 4K capable Screen size is 32 inches (measured diagonally corner to corner) Sturdy stand headphone port Cons: No built in speakers (not a deal breaker) Price 60 Hz refresh rate 1 HDMI port Nothing special Overall: First and foremost, this is a monitor. It doesn’t say TV, so I feel it can be a little unfair if you compare this to a 4K TV. Kudos to the Samsung design team for making a compact, modern and sleek looking monitor. Compare this to other monitors and you’ll see many pros and cons. That being said, this is a great monitor if you’re using it for a computer and ability to stream things like Hulu, Netflix, Disney+, etc. My hesitation though is it’s rather expensive for what you get. There’s only 1 HDMI port and I think they could’ve put 1 more in. For this being $350+, I’d hope it had a few more things. Before purchasing anything electronic, just know your needs and wants. It’s best to evaluate your needs and get something that can tick off the most boxes.

Perfect For Working From Home! If you are in the market for a 32” monitor, then there is a lot to like about this Samsung product. Samsung is known for making quality displays, and this monitor does not disappoint. It is an excellent choice for working from home and personal computing needs. The 32” size has vastly improved my work from home life. This monitor replaced a 25” one that I have been using to work from home, and the improvement due to the size difference was immediately noticeable. Not as much the picture quality, which are both great, but the jump in screen size. I have really noticed the difference and working is not only more efficient, but easier on my eyes. Now that I have used a screen this size, I am hooked. My p;d 25 inch monitor will now live in my work area as a second monitor, next to this Samsung which is now my primary monitor. The overall picture quality is excellent. The colors are vibrant and very rich. The contrast is superb and is capable of producing nice black levels. Contrast is crucial to picture quality and is what causes the picture to look really good. Overall I am impressed with the picture quality for general computing activities. HDR Capability: Is this monitor 4K UHD capable? Most definitely yes. I need to address HDR at length because the topic needs a detailed explanation. To test the HDR capability I used a Dell XPS 13 that is equipped to render 4K UHD HDR via Dolby Vision. I have attached pictures of the settings screen from my laptop to show what a PC that is HDR capable will show in the settings when it detects a HDR capable display. In order to get a HDR picture on this monitor, a HDR capable device must be used. Important to understand is that even with a HDR capable device, HDR is app and game specific. Even within a specific app, Netflix for example, HDR quality will vary wildly from title to title as each show or movie is mastered differently and with varying levels of quality and effectiveness. The same principle applies to games. In other words all HDR is not created equally, and HDR quality and utilization varies from app to app and title to title. I watched a few HDR titles on Netflix and Vudu and was pleased with the results. This monitor is equipped with 1 HDMI input and a DisplayPort input. Thankfully manufacturers are moving away from the antiquated VGA input and opting for the more capable Display Port standard. But I wish PC manufactures would simplify things and just use HDMI exclusively. There are no internal speakers but there is a rear headphone jack.

Right of the box, the edge of the screen is poorly made and looks like it was glued together. After a week or so of use, the part of the black frame comes off, and I can see the backlight bleed through the outer frame. As far as resolution quality it's pretty good... when it works. After connecting three different computers, swapping out different HDMI cables, the colors never look good, and is very difficult to calibrate the colors, even with color correction tools. The display also has a very small angle of view. Once you shift your head slightly, colors wash out. I had high hopes for the monitor and actually got a pretty good deal through Best Buy, but perhaps it was priced down because of poor manufacturing quality. If you're looking for a better monitor, look for the LG ones. There are a few out there with a similar price tag with a lot more features and better color output/gamut. Purchased this for my studio, which occasionally doubles as a home workspace. It’s a nice looking design and is a sharp display, but it’s simply too dim. If I didn’t catch it on such a big sale it’d have gone back, but it plays nice with the CalDigit hub whether it’s an iPad Pro, MacBook or Windows laptop plugged in, so it stayed and is performing well.

In general, if you buy 4K monitor - 43" is a minimum. This one is not what I expect from Samsung. Quality control is awful, at the bottom of the screen you can see some pieces of fiber left behind the glass, and a dirty spot (under the glass) size more than 10 pixels

I’ve been using a Samsung monitor that I bought a couple of years ago, and by coincidence it’s The same model (only older) as this new monitor, so I am very familiar with it, I was using a 28 inch Samsung 4K monitor, So when Samsung sent me their newest entry level 32 inch A700 series 4k Monitor to review, I was very excited. Very Important for whoever is reading my review and is having trouble making your monitor look its best when playing with a game console, Go to the menu and under System, go over to PC/AV mode. The monitor is under PC mode by default, if you’re having problems because your game doesn’t look quite right, switch over to AV instead of PC and that helped me a lot. So as far as entry level monitors go, this 4K monitor manages to have some good features. Other high-end monitors can cost hundreds more if not thousands. So overall you’re getting a good 4K monitor for the price. 4k Resolution: as everyone knows, 4K resolution is king right now, sure there’s other more expensive monitors that offer 8K resolution for example, but at the moment a lot of that resolution is wasted because there’s not many things that can output 8K. 4K has that sweet balance of high resolution, high contrast ratios, vibrant colors, and of course more pixels than the 1080p resolution of yesteryear, while still having devices that output said resolution such as a 4K Blu-ray player,a PlayStation 5 or an Xbox series X. HDR: we’ve all heard of this term when looking at TVs or monitors... but what does that mean exactly? Well I’m not an expert in this field but all I can tell you is that that HDR is always on in this monitor, you’re able to turn it off or adjusted through the Xbox menus (i’m Guesssing a PlayStation 5 or a 4K Blu-ray player has this option as well) I don’t know exactly what HDR is supposed to do but I can tell you what it does on this monitor, just imagine playing your favorite video game and your character puts sun a pair of sunglasses, The image just becomes a little darker, and the colors are a little easier to see, for example let’s picture a sunset, with HDR off, you would just see yellow around the sun, but with HDR on, the sun becomes a little darker, a little more orange, and you’re able to somewhat see the round shape of the sun. Grass gets a little darker green, shadows around rocks become a little darker etc. At least in my opinion that’s what I see. I personally don’t like HDR as it makes my games look a little different than what I’m used to, I’m also a beliver that it’s going to slow down the game by a few FPS because of the extra load it’s taking up, but that’s just personal preference. Game Mode: what game mode is, it’s a feature that it’s supposed make the monitor have the highest refresh rate possible, I don’t know exactly how much faster it makes it, but it does change the appearance of the screen slightly, when it is on it seems to make the screen a little brighter and a little more “washed” out, just a very slight difference... I’ve also noticed that when you have HDR on, the game mode is disabled. I find myself constantly tweaking my monitor finding the best image for me. You WILL have to do some tinkering out of the box. Personal tip... if you have HDR on, the game appears darker especially in dark areas like inside of a cave for example.. i’ve found that going to the games actual menus (not the monitor menus) and putting up the brightness really helps. You’re going to have to do this to every game you play. This monitor only supports up to 60Hz, or in other words the refresh rate (in this case this monitor refreshes 60 times a second) this is true with many entry-level monitors, the good news is that a lot of the big video game titles only support up to 60Hz for multiplayer games (at least for now) such as Warzone. this wasn’t a big deal to me. The more “Hz” The smoother the gameplay. No sound is available as this monitor (and pretty much all monitors) does not have any speakers. Also no remote is included as this is not a TV to switch the channel etc. At first I was very unhappy with the picture image of this monitor, but after spending some time in the menus, I found a way to clean up the image. Still, There’s something about this monitor that I’m not 100% happy with, its either too dark or too bright and the colors are just a little bit off to me. hope this review helps.

    Great 32" 4K HDR Monitor!

Samsung A700 The Samsung A700! Out of the box, you get the 32” 4K panel, base stand, HDMI cable, power cable, and a manual booklet. The monitor offers HDMI & DisplayPort ports for video and a 3.5mm jack so you can hook up to headphones or speakers (the monitor itself does not have speakers). Setup is fairly simple and took less than a minute. Connecting via HDMI & DisplayPort both work as intended. Playing 4K HDR content on this monitor is quite decent. Not as good as an OLED panel, but in relation to other LED panels the Samsung A700 produces good colors especially for the asking price. I was able to playback 4K HDR content from my desktop, laptop, Chromecast Ultra & Chromecast TV. In terms of gaming performance, there is very little lag that is visually perceptible. I was able to play a few titles from my PS4 Pro & desktop. Though the PS4 Pro does not really do well with 4K gaming, my desktop was able to push out 55+ FPS for most titles via my 2080 TI. The monitor looks and feels great so far. In terms of mobility, the monitor is limited to forward & back tilt. The monitor does provide VESA mount on the backside, so you can get a 100x100 VESA mount or arm to bring in more mobility that suits your viewing height. I currently have it set up on a VESA arm and personally don’t use any of my monitors without an arm. Overall, i would highly recommend this monitor for anyone that is looking for a simple 4K setup. For the asking price, you are actually getting a pretty decent monitor!

    White/red/black screen of death

I love the monitor but sometimes screen will turn white and fade into red fire/black, it's creepy. Power cycling it will resolve. No menu appears on the display so it's like an LCD failure, but not backlight? Definitely a design issue or a bad monitor. Otherwise I love the monitor very sharp. I'm going to return it this is not acceptable for a brand new monitor. It does it say once every 10-20 power ons? I'm not sure

It has been an absolute game-changer for my work and entertainment needs. Firstly, the 32” 4K UHD display is incredibly satisfying to work with. Whether I’m working on a design or editing a video, the clarity and detail of the images are unparalleled. The size and resolution make multitasking a breeze, and I no longer have to squint or zoom in excessively to see finer details. Watching Netflix on this monitor is also a treat. The colors are vibrant, and the HDR technology ensures that the contrast and brightness levels are just right, providing an immersive viewing experience. Additionally, the price point of this monitor is very reasonable and affordable, making it an excellent value for money. It’s not often that you find a monitor with such high specifications at such an attractive price. Overall, I am thrilled with my purchase of the Samsung 32” ViewFinity S7 4K UHD Monitor. It has exceeded my expectations in terms of performance and quality, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch monitor for work or entertainment.

Great Monitor for Work and Entertainment I’ve been using the Samsung 32” ViewFinity S7 4K UHD monitor for a while now, and I’m impressed with its performance for both work and entertainment. The large screen size and high resolution make it a joy to use for extended periods. Picture Quality The picture quality is excellent, with vivid colors and sharp details. The HDR10 support enhances the contrast, making images and videos look more realistic. Whether I’m editing photos, watching movies, or working on documents, the display is consistently clear and vibrant. Productivity The 32-inch screen provides ample space for multitasking. I can easily have multiple windows open side-by-side, which has significantly improved my productivity. The text is sharp and easy to read, reducing eye strain during long work sessions. Design and Features The monitor has a sleek, modern design with a borderless display that looks great on my desk. Setting up the monitor was straightforward with the easy setup stand, and the multiple ports offer convenient connectivity. The TUV-certified eye care features, like the Eye Saver Mode, have also helped reduce eye fatigue.

Great for Productivity, Not A Gaming Monitor

--- Installation--- The Samsung monitor was easy to install. It includes an HDMI cable and the power cord. I was up and running in less than 5 minutes. --- FEATURES --- This is a 4K UHD Monitor and supports HDR10 with a thin bezel. It has 1 HDMI input and 1 display port. You can also connect headphones with the auxiliary port. --- PERFORMANCE --- This monitor performs great if you know what you are getting. It’s a great monitor for everyday office use or to stream movies / TV shows. However, this is not a gaming monitor. As a weekend coder, this has become my new favorite monitor to throw VS code on because it has a lot of desktop space. --- EXPECTATIONS --- The product meets my expectations. I knew going in that this was not a gaming monitor. To test it though, I connected this monitor to my Xbox Series X and I have included the picture of the Series X read for this monitor. I do like that the on/off button is easy to access with easy to understand navigation menu arrows. The color compared to my other monitors really stands out with nice darks and bright colors. Though this is a 4K monitor, I changed the output to 1080P for my needs. However, when I take a break while eating lunch, I switch to 4K to enjoy some streaming. Setting this up as a third monitor was a breeze. It works with my Mac and my Windows 10 PC. --- VALUE --- This is a great investment if you’re now working from home and you want to be able to put more things on your monitor to be more productive. --- APPROVAL --- This is a great second monitor or even third monitor for a multi-monitor setup. I approve and recommend this monitor for coders, office use, and design use. However, I don’t think this is a good monitor if your main purpose will be gaming in 4K. Works well for gaming in 1080P, though.
