Monitor cracked on its own and its not covered by warranty! $500 piece of trash. I had the monitor three months before it cracked. Sent it back to Samsung and now they want $220 to repair it.

I bought it in December. It's been six months and now I have some damage in the display and I'm not a havy user.

If you've been waiting to jump into ultrawide gaming, the Samsung Odyssey G5 is the perfect entry point. The aggressive 1000R curve is the star of the show, delivering jaw-dropping immersion.
Sitting at the 34-inch, 21:9 aspect ratio, this monitor genuinely wraps around your field of view, making racing and single-player games an experience you can't get on a flat screen.
Quick Specs
Curve: 1000R (Ultra-Curved)
Resolution: 3440 x 1440 (WQHD)
Speed: 165Hz Refresh Rate, 1ms Response Time
Panel: VA (Vertical Alignment)
The technical performance is solid: 165Hz is buttery smooth, and the high contrast VA panel provides deep blacks that make movie nights and dark scenes pop. It's also a productivity powerhouse, allowing you to run three windows side by side comfortably.

I recently upgraded my gaming experience with the Samsung 34" Odyssey G5, and it has proven to be an absolute game-changer! Paired with its outstanding features, including a 1000R curved display, 1ms response time, 165Hz refresh rate, QHD resolution, and FreeSync Premium technology, this gaming monitor is a true powerhouse.
The 1000R curved display creates an immersive and panoramic gaming environment that wraps around my field of vision. It enhances the depth and realism of every game, drawing me into the action in a way that traditional flat monitors simply can't match.
The rapid 1ms response time ensures that fast-paced scenes unfold smoothly and without motion blur. This feature is particularly beneficial in competitive gaming, where split-second reactions can make all the difference. Combined with the 165Hz refresh rate, the Odyssey G5 delivers an ultra-smooth gaming experience, providing a significant advantage in both responsiveness and fluidity.
The QHD resolution elevates the visual quality, bringing sharpness and clarity to every detail on the screen. Whether I'm exploring vast open worlds or engaged in intense firefights, the crisp visuals contribute to a more engaging and enjoyable gaming experience.
FreeSync Premium technology further enhances the monitor's capabilities by reducing screen tearing and stuttering. This ensures that the graphics stay buttery smooth, allowing me to fully appreciate the stunning visuals without any distractions.
The sleek and modern design of the Odyssey G5 adds a touch of sophistication to my gaming setup. The thin bezels maximize the screen real estate, creating an unobstructed view that enhances the overall aesthetic appeal.
In conclusion, the Samsung Odyssey G5 34" Gaming Monitor has exceeded my expectations in every aspect. With its curved display, rapid response time, high refresh rate, QHD resolution, and FreeSync Premium technology, it has become an essential component of my gaming setup. If you're looking to elevate your gaming experience, the Odyssey G5 is an excellent choice.
Happy gaming!

Great color and easy to use menu. My suggestion is to make sure to turn off dynamic color or else your monitor will always try to match the color of your background and someone like me who uses dark mode this can get annoying seeing as the monitor will constantly darken. Besides a simple setting everything else is great the colors are amazing and it’s a great refresh rate and resolution for the price. The monitor stand could be way better as far as being able to adjust height and swivel but for the price it’s understandable. All in all for a $550 monitor it’s amazing. I recommend it for anyone on a budget.

The Great Cheaper Odyssey monitor is perfect for my daily gaming and cybersecurity studies. It provides ample screen space for 5 to 6 windows or even more, depending on how you arrange them! This monitor is ideal for multitaskers and anyone who requires plenty of workspace or a beautiful display for the new Battlefield 6 game. From my experience with ultra-wide monitors for gaming, I highly recommend having a graphics card like the 2070, 3070, or 4070, as higher resolutions can impact performance. I've seen the 70-series cards perform really well, as they strike a good balance between resolution and performance. I personally use a 4070 Ti Super, but I always recommend the 4070 Super, especially for those who love to play games like Arma.

I really like this monitor. The colors are excellent. The screen size is nice. The curve looks great but in certain games it takes getting used to. FPS games and Stellaris have been no problem but Rocket League for example, I have missed the ball several times not realizing I was off.
Only real complaint is the terrible stand. I mean it’s AWFUL. But, that drove me to put it on a nice clamp on VESA arm and I’m glad I did.

Upgraded from LG IPS ultrawide 1080p to this Samsung VA Ultrawide and experience is mixed. I like the increased screen real estate and curve makes gaming more enjoyable. What i don't like is the narrow viewing angle. When watching movies, the color changes even with slight shift in viewing position. Also, the text clarity is not as good as my 24inch 1080p ips monitor. It also takes longer to turn it on or off.

I bought this monitor because it gave me the ability to break away from my 32 inch monitors and move into a monitor that gave a different view. With it being on sale, that gave me more of a reason to buy it. Picture is great and the curved feature makes it even more attractive! The only drawback is no onboard speakers, cannot update the firmware wirelessly, and only 1 HDMI and 1 Display port where my 32 inch monitors offer 2 HDMI and 1 Display port. I know gaming monitors are mostly made for headphone connections, but what if I wanted the gaming experience and use it for something else rather than gaming or I want my gaming play to be where I can hear it without the headphones? I would have to buy external speakers and audio jack adapter. Otherwise, I consider it a great buy.

This is my first ultra wide monitor and it is amazing. I am use to curved screen from past monitors and the 1000R seems just right. Colors and black levels are good especially for a VA panel with no back light bleed. Quality seems really good. The only slight con is the stand, it is not adjustable but it does support a VESA mount so you can get your own stand and hook to it.

The 1000R curve on this is fantastic. I am not having issues with noticing text warping or anything like that. I am not getting any flickering running freesync capability on my RTX 3070. It does require some tinkering to adjust the settings to get proper color, but every monitor does.
The ghosting that exists has had no impact on the games that I play. I am not a competitive gamer and mainly play single player games or PVE content in MMOs. If you are looking for top esports level response and no ghosting you are not going to find it here.
Lastly, the stand is a joke on this thing. Can slightly tilt up and down and cannot move vertically. It also wobble really badly. The value proposition really lies with the extreme curve which really adds immersion IMO.

Awesome budget monitor with plenty of screen space. The high resolution lets you have up to four windows open at once, which was super helpful for doing assignments and research. It also has different modes for reading, watching movies, or gaming. Plus, it comes with adjustable virtual crosshairs, which is a nice bonus. For the price, it’s honestly one of the best out there.

The stand sucks, period. That’s really the only bad part of this monitor
I debated returning this for about 2 days. I felt the value was off because of my first impressions of the stand. After about a week I cannot see myself playing on any other monitor. The screen is so clear and the darks are so precise that I cannot imagine playing any other way. The options are very user friendly as well.
Lastly, the 1500r curve, whoa what can I say. It takes a couple days to get used to but after that it is truly a game changer, literally. I am so immersed In gameplay.

Overall a good monitor if you can get it for a decent price. I got mine for around $460.
Pros: *Amazing Color (I know some Samsung products tend to over saturate the colors but this monitor looked great if your getting this monitor for video and photo editing it really does look great. The monitor covers I think all of the dcip3 color space)
*Refresh rate is a plus. (It can be a little hard to find a monitor in 21:9 aspect ratio at 165hz)
*Availability
*Bang for buck. (At $460 it has some pretty good features, read spec sheet for most)
Cons: *Smeared Darks (It's a little harder to explain this one, but I play a lot of tarkov. It's a dark game and when I'm looking into a black and grey corner the details almost completely disappear)
*Fake HDR (It says it supports HDR but in reality it just excepts HDR signals. The HDR on this monitor looks worse than the SDR. NOT SAYING THE SDR LOOKS BAD. Just that the HDR looks awful)
*Vesa mount on the back is a little too high for some mounts. (My mount in particular is an arm mount that attaches to my desk. Because the vesa mount on the monitor is so high is sags down at the bottom. I would suggest a heavier duty monitor arm)
*Freesync premium. (Now I know this may seem like it should be a pro. But it's just a bummer because in my instance I have a rtx 3080. Most freesync premium monitors at least are compatible with g-sync but this monitor in my experience was not. Although I didn't have any issues with screen tearing or latency)
Overall a good monitor for the price. The curve is a little aggressive at 1000R but really not a bad curve for the size.

165hz is amazing however, be prepared to dedicate some time getting it setup. Turning on some options turns others off so it takes awhile to find a good overall picture. The curve is great and it's plenty bright enough.
I mounted mine because the stand is terrible. In fact, I wouldn't have purchased this monitor if I had to use the supplied stand.

The Odyssey G5 was a pretty great monitor. The curve was a bit deep at first glance but I honestly didn't notice it as I used it and was pretty consistent even at different angles. The only problem I had was ghosting and that primarily on screens with a dark background. Also, the cable slots on the back were not the greatest since you had to angle your wires awkwardly, but other than those 2 caveats, pretty great monitor.

I've only had this monitor for a couple weeks and I love it. The quality is so clear. I love the curved screen for immersion gaming but its also nice if you're working. You don't have to rotate your head back and forth like if you were using 2 screens. And lots of space if you want to have your email up on half the screen and use the other half for a different task.
Only issue was that it did not come with an HDMI cord, it came with a display port, which doesn't exist on my laptop so I had to purchase an HDMI to be able to use it.
Some day I'll have a desktop and that wouldn't be an issue. So it won't effect my star rating.

I started a remote job in the last month or so and this monitor has been invaluable to my ability to do my job efficiently. I used to juggle several windows on a 17" laptop screen, and now I have 34" of ultrawide monitor so I can open 3-4 static windows and have room for more on top of that. So much better. I haven't had a chance to play many games on it, but I'm hoping to soon. I'm sure it will be a great experience. This is my first curved monitor and my second 34" ultrawide and I love it. Samsung (usually) makes great products and this is no exception. The only thing I do not like is the lack of built-in speakers.
