This is a 34-inch curved gaming monitor that is so easy to put together. In the box you get: a user guide, set up guide, the neck of the monitor, base for the neck, charging brick, charging cable, an HMDI cable, DP cable, a USB-A to B cable and even a remote for the smart TV features, which I will discuss at the end of this review. So no matter how you want to set this monitor up with your computer, they give you just about every cable you could need. You even get a VESA bracket, so that you can hang this on your wall or monitor mount, for multiple monitors, if you chose to. The monitor itself is thin and well made. You are able to use this with either your PC or gaming console.
To set up the monitor with the base, as I did, you will need to line up the neck and base with the pins and screws and tighten the screws. Any regular sized screwdriver will work for this. Once that is done, you will need to place the neck into the slot on the back of the monitor until you hear a light click. The base is sturdy and very little wobble of the monitor. The back of the monitor has the power port, DP, HMDI and 2 USB-C ports. There is a joystick controller on the back of the monitor also to navigate your settings.
The neck of the monitor rises and lowers so that you can have it at just the right height for you. It also tilts so you can get just the right angle. I like the base. It is nice and flat so that I can place things on it. I have so much on my desk and now room to spare. This takes up very little real estate. Once you have the monitor put together you can just hook this up to either your computer or gaming console.
This monitor even has built in speakers! The sound is surprisingly good. So, if you are like me and don’t have a lot of space left on your desk, this is a really good feature. I got rid of the speakers on my desk and now have even more room. If you like good bass in your sound, then this might not be to your liking.
The display has a refresh rate of 175 mhz, which is good for most gaming. The quality of the picture is amazing and gives a smooth picture with no pixilation in the games I have played on this. Because of the curve of the screen I feel more immersed in the games I played and the display is very sharp and the colors are vibrant.
Now you may have forgotten that I mentioned this comes with a smart remote. This monitor also has smart TV features. You can basically use this as a smart TV also. You have access to all your streaming services. I have seen a difference in the quality of streaming movies compared to my actual TV and it is much better on the monitor. The only downfall of watching shows and movies is that this is an ultra wide monitor and most shows are only filmed in wide screen. You will have a bit of black screen on the sides. This could be good for the future, if movies start filming in ultra wide though.
There is so much more that this monitor does that I could go on and on. For the price you pay for this monitor it really does come with the bells and whistles you would expect and more. I would recommend this monitor for pretty much any gamer or even every day work. The fact that it is such a space saver for your desk is a big plus for me.

The brightness on this screen is really terrible. For a moment I though my screen had an issue but it turns out this monitor just have really poor brightness. Watching movies or other forms of entertainment MAY BE okay, but I use it primarily for work/productivity and I will not recommend. It's started to mess my eyes after some time.

One of the best monitors I’ve experienced

The Samsung 34" Odyssey OLED G8 (G85SD) Curved Ultra is here and it is a sight to experience.
-Design and Build Quality
At first glance, the Odyssey OLED G8 stands out with its sleek, modern design. The 34-inch curved display immediately draws attention with its 1800R curvature, designed to match the natural field of view of the human eye. The slim, all-metal body adds a touch of premium aesthetics, making it a beautiful addition to any setup. The monitor offers height adjustability and tilt functions, though it lacks pivot and swivel options. It is VESA mount compatible so you can use a monitor arm to solve those issues. Overall great looking & solid build quality.
-Display & Image Quality
The standout feature of the Odyssey OLED G8 is, of course, the OLED panel. The Ultra-WQHD resolution (3440x1440) on the 34-inch screen provides a truly stunning display. High 175Hz refresh rate & 0.03 ms response time keeps things buttery smooth & images crisp. The monitor also of course supports both AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC. Colors are vibrant and I love those dark blacks.
- What’s included in the box
HDMI cable, Display Port cable, USB Typa A to B upstream cable, remote and power brick.
Overall this is in my opinion one of the best monitors out there right now for gamers or creators. Definitely recommend the Samsung 34” Odyssey OLED G8.

The monitor is "fantastic"! but I was sold a bill of goods that this had all the cables and power charger in the box. It did not so i had to go buy all new cables. I called Best buy and told them that i would just buy new instead of a open boxed. they told me that I had to send it back and in 2 weeks they would refund me. I asked if I could just bring it to the store here in Miami and they told me no. What a joke!!!!

I've been using this monitor for a few days now and it still has the same "wow" pop factor that it did when I first unboxed it. Samsung is no stranger to great picture quality, but they absolutely NAILED it with this OLED panel. Leveraging a 3440x1440 / 60FPS / HDR video sample, the clarity and depth of color is incredible - blacks aren't just black, it's like they're the absence of color and light entirely (as they should be and as they are in real life). And that makes all the OTHER colors pop just that much more. Samsung attributes this to not just the OLED panel but also the dense pixels per inch (like in an iPad) and the image processing - whatever it is, it works! I've used many monitors over the years and this might be the best panel I've seen.
Beyond the panel itself, the rest of the monitor itself is nicely built and well thought through. The port selection is excellent with two HDMI ports and a DisplayPort port - for the best performance (if you want the highest refresh rates and VRR), you'll want to use the DisplayPort connection, but it will work just fine on the HDMI port for full resolution 60Hz+. I'm not using the USB ports though they're handy to have (you can use the monitor as something of a 2 to 1 USB hub which helps wiring things like mice and keyboards). The stand is heavy duty with good adjustment and cable routing, though I'm using it on a VESA arm (which is easy to mount and works well with the included adapter). Setup was quite easy though there is a sizeable external power brick (I expected this) and the whole setup seems like it will last a long time / be quite durable.
So if you're in the market for an ultra-wide monitor to better manage your work (and, it REALLY does help having that extra horizontal space), this is a wonderful option particularly for gaming, media consumption or really anything. Give it a try today!

A nice monitor that requires some setup

This is a very nice monitor. This is my first curved ultra wide monitor, and I actually like it more than I thought I would. The curve isn't too extreme, and I think it works well with the width of the monitor.
It is a "smart" monitor; meaning it comes with Samsungs full Smart experience, with the ability to download apps from Samsungs app store, and comes preloaded with so many apps it almost feels like bloat. But, helpfully it has a Game section where you can pair devices (controllers, keyboards, mice) and launch streaming services such as Xbox Game Pass, Amazon Luna, GeForce Now, and others.
Some of its device integration features work only with other Samsung Galaxy devices, which I don't have. So, some of it seems kind of neat, though probably mostly gimmicky.
I did have to fiddle with the monitor picture settings and game video settings to get visuals the way I liked. In Horizon 5, it seemed like the whites were getting super washed out, so I just turned off all HDR settings and it seemed to look better. Also, if you are using the monitors built-in sound, which actually isn't terrible, if you have Intelligent Sound turned on, it changes the sound depending on picture mode, which didn't make sense.
And I guess while I'm on the subject of fiddling, setting up the monitor requires fiddling. I expect to be able to turn on a monitor and just use it. Samsung wants you to jump through a series of setup hoops and log in to your Samsung account, and setup your TV service provide and all this nonsense.
So, all of this fiddling, and different modes, and all these apps and connected stuff... for a gaming monitor feels a bit over the top.
The monitor does have some LEDs around the mount on the back which is pretty cool. They're hard to see though unless the monitor is backed against a light-colored wall. Otherwise it's just doing a light dance for whatever is behind the monitor, and not you. The light can be turned off though.
As with many OLEDs, I do wish it could get a little bit brighter. The high refresh rate is really nice though, and the colors are nice.

Absolutely stunning monitor! A MUST HAVE

OLED - the most color-saturated panels you can get. The most colorful, the blackest blacks, and Samsung has been kicking the rear of the competition with OLED since the start of this panel's use.
This 1800R curved panel is gorgeous, although I do wish it was a 1000R so it would better match my G9 49" OLED monitor that it's stacked above on a dual-monitor arm.
I paired this monitor with a Radeon RX 7900 XTX and feel I'm getting optimal frame-rates out of it due to the combination of the resolution and refresh rates that it handles. NOTHING tears or ghosts that I've thrown at it, and that's with everything turned up as high as it goes (sans ray-tracing).
This monitor makes a great addition to anyone who absolutely demands stunning visuals! Add to that, it has downloadable apps so it basically can be used as a smart TV for streaming services as well.
If you're doing as I have with it being a secondary monitor, get yourself a KVM - you won't regret it. Then you can use it as either a secondary monitor or a stand-alone monitor on a 2nd PC. Regardless, it's a monitor that you won't regret buying!
