This is a great deal in the $200-300 range, with a 3440x1440p100 max resolution and refresh, support for AMD Freesync, acceptably fast response times, 1 DisplayPort 1.4 and 2 HDMI 2.0 ports. This means most GPUs will power the full brunt without issue, and consoles should go well up to 1440p with VRR on. You also get HDR support, though only basic HDR 400 spec. You'll need to be sure your source and cable are capable, however. For myself, a gaming PC with an RX6750XT, and a Steam Deck with the official docking station, both perform great on this, but did present the reality that the HDMI 2.0 spec won't cope with 3440x1440 any higher than 60Hz, amd forget HDR unless you like dropouts. However, 2560x1440 at 100Hz is possible, and even still does HDR in this state. The neatest feature is PIP and PBP. You drop HDR in all cases, unfortunately, but for this, you get either the full screen plus a second source in any of the 4 corners, taking up between 5.5 and 8" of the screen, so between a phablet and tablet in size, OR you get two half-screens 1720x1440 each, which only comes up on PCs (maybe Mac) as a console will only render their native 16:9 resolution. There's also *some* sort of a KVM thing if you're splitting two Windows machines, as I noticed strange misbehaviors using my actual KVM app, Barrier. You need your own speakers - there is a 3.5mm aux port for your output, which will naturally pass the active source audio through (and you can select the active audio source at will in PIP/PBP). There's finally a USB port that's only for, I presume, firmware updates, but it handles some AmazonBasic-brand USB speaker kit fine (they stay on even with the monitor off though). The last negative I have is the PSU. It's a super thin profile monitor, so it does need an external brick. God forbid you need to use BestBuy Reviews as a source, but it's an A5919_RDY brick with a 19v 3.11a output rating. It's got plenty of length and a right-angle connection, but it's a shame it has to be there. It comes with a basic center stand that pitches forward and back, but VESA mounting on-board for any old stand or arm. Overall, if you can get a deal on this, you won't be disappointed.

The Samsung 34 ViewFinity Ultra Wide Monitor is a no-thrills monitor that gets a lot of this Right. The size is just right at 34 inches. No need for a double monitor setup. It has an easy simple setup. The stand is basic with little adjustment. Sadly, you don't get much adjustment for this monitor. This was my first ultra-wide monitor and I can honestly say I'm impressed. With my Monitor I didn't adjust anything inside the settings. I just ran straight out of the box. The colors appeared fine. Watching Videos everything looked fine. Playing games at 2k on an ultra-wide was a different experience. It was a blast to play some older-style games at max settings. With the 100 Hertz that also gives more crisp gameplay and playback over 60 Hz. It has two HDMI 2.0 ports and one 1.2 Display Port. Negatives The brightness is only at 300 nits which is the standard. Not much adjustment up or down. Adjustment setting inside the monitor is lacking and basic. Not the best color accuracy for professional content creation. This is a decent monitor that doesn't break the bank. It's not the upper premium gaming monitor with all the bells and whistles. You do get an amazing monitor that will perform well for the average individual.

Just bought this monitor open box at Laurel BestBuy. Got it home and plugged it in and there was a dark plume-shaped shadow on the righthand side. Returned it right away. It was a complete waste of my afternoon on curbside pick up and return + gas. OpenBox rating mentioned that the product was in 'Excellent' condition. Quite the contrary.

I mostly use my laptop (MacBook Air) as my main screen with a 24” 4K Samsung monitor as my second screen. That worked well for years. I felt it was time for more real estate. I saw this 34” ultra-widescreen and thought it might be a good experiment. It’s better than I expected. Color is decent and it has three inputs though no USB-C. I placed it on a stand behind my laptop so the relatively low resolution doesn’t factor into the viewing experience much. It also doesn’t have speakers, though it has a headphone jack. Instead, audio is fed to a nearby Bluetooth speaker. The 3440 x 1440 resolution is great for putting two browser windows side-by-side. When I started playing with the on-screen menu I found some handy extra features. The monitor supports both PIP and PBP, so I can plug anything into either of the HDMI and utilize it on either half the screen or a PIP window. I plugged in a Fire stick and started using it right away. It’s nice to know I can do the same with another streaming device, PC or Mac. The stand is quite wide and not very adjustable so it may not work aethetically in every desk setup. Overall, a fantastic value purchase.

Overall really enjoying this monitor. This is my first ultra wide monitor, as well as my first monitor over the standard large 27”. I Personally use this at my home setup which is used for both gaming and work. Remote work has been awesome as I used to have 2 27” screens and now have this one and a 27”, which now feels like I have three monitors, or like 1 27” and 2 24” screens. Gaming has been awesome as the upgrade from 60 (what I had) to this screen of 100hz has felt smoother. The quicker refresh rate and additional pixel count has been great too. All in all, a great monitor and I think I will continue enjoying it for years to come.

Monitor works well for CMYK photo/print editing

I purchased this monitor to replace two 4x3 format 19-inch monitors that were getting a little old. I have other Samsung devices and have found their video to be first-rate. I use this monitor for editing photos and other graphics for primarily print media (CMYK). Other than being set far too bright for photo editing, the color balance was spot on. After going through some calibration steps on Windows 10, I have the levels where they are close enough to print to be able to feel comfortable with the match. The monitor, of course, has a few more "f-stops" range than is possible on CMYK prints--the old Ansel Adams Zone-System applies. In any case, the monitor's fine resolution is great, and 100 fps video is pleasing to the eyes--no flicker compared to the old 70 fps monitors. And there's plenty of screen real-estate for my needs. Incidentally the monitor comfortably fits into the space that my two 19-inch monitors used. One other thing, being able to look at two-page spreads as they appear in a book is great. I'm using the Display Port connection. One final note: be sure to download the Samsung device drivers for Windows; this will probably not automatically happen as Windows may just use a generic driver instead. This will provide better color management.

This monitor has completely transformed my workspace. The ultrawide 34” display is perfect for multitasking, and the 100Hz refresh rate makes everything feel incredibly smooth. Colors are vibrant, text is sharp, and FreeSync works great with my setup. Ideal for work, streaming, and casual gaming — highly recommend!

The Samsung - 34" ViewFinity S50GC Ultra-WQHD 100Hz AMD FreeSync Monitor with HDR10 is an impressive looking monitor. It’s my first foray into the ultra-wide screen craze and I’m starting to appreciate it already. Some of the bosses at work have the higher end curved versions but this will do just fine for my working from home office. I have been using two older 27” Samsung 1080p curved monitors and despite their relatively thin bezels, they’re still a bit too much head turning from one side to the other. I do a lot of multitasking work, coding, large spreadsheets, reporting and monitoring dashboards and with this Samsung 34” ultrawide monitor I can practically fit almost twice as many spreadsheet columns and 1.5 times as many rows I would on a single 27” 1080p monitor as depicted in the attached picture with the yellow highlights showing where the same spreadsheet would end on the 27” screens. All of this in an impressive width of 32” inches. Installation was super easy, only taking a few minutes to attach the stand and connect the external 19 VDC power supply and the included HDMI and DisplayPort cables. Image adjustments are pretty basic but good enough for the average consumer in this price range. It is a bit less crisp and the colors are less vivid than my other monitors, but that’s something also dependent on the signal source. I’ll have to play around with more video card settings on my work laptop, since it certainly looks crisper when connected to my personal desktop PC. One great feature usually only found in older/higher-end TV is Picture in Picture and Picture By Picture which I love about this monitor. That allows me to have my work laptop and personal desktop connected and displaying side by side or in a smaller window, so I can watch or work on other content as needed without having to go to another room. I wish it was a bit brighter since my desk is by a window that gets a lot of sun in the afternoon, but at least the screen has an anti glare coating that helps in bright rooms like mine. All in all this is a budget friendly mid-range monitor with very narrow bezels great for consolidating multiple monitors into one yet still offering tons of screen real estate for work multitasking, watching videos and standard gaming.

This monitor, is in a word (or three), cool as heck. The ultra-wide screen makes for an unsurpassed experience in computer use. There is now plenty of room to place multiple windows on a screen without them having to be too small. The display is crisp, bright, sharp and easy to adjust with the onscreen menus. The monitor actually has the ability to function more specifically as two monitors with its built-in picture-in-picture capability and using your computer’s display settings. I use this as part of a three-monitor setup with my laptop computer and another, more traditionally-sized external monitor (see photo). Setup was simple. Remove it from the box, attach the base, connect the video and power cables, and you’re off an running. The monitor also has provision for mounting on a wall. Included in the box are two HDMI cables, and the monitor has two HDMI port, a Display-Port, and a headphone jack. The only physical adjustment available is tilt, not height. At this price point, this is a superb monitor. Highly recommended.

The Samsung S34C50 monitor is pretty awesome. Attaching the stand was easy. A few screws in the back, and attaching the stand, tighten the screw, and you are all set! It also has a panel you can remove in case you want to mount it to a wall. It comes with two hdmi cables, and a power cord with adapter. Working from home this can serve as dual monitors using the control button at the bottom, select PBP or PIP on the screen and your display settings. Super nice to have one large monitor that can serve up two different sides, and it looks good! The bezel is small, which is a great feature. The picture is super clear and crisp. Connects easily directly to my laptop as well as my docking station. Automatically configures dimensions when you connect it with the hdmi cable. Has several connection ports in the back, two hdmi, DP, and includes one for headphones. The unit itself is super light, but sturdy feeling. The price point is pretty good for this, it’s such a versatile monitor! Watch movies, game away, work! This is the do it all monitor!

Samsung ViewFinity S5 Monitor Review While I can't speak to the long-term use of the Samsung ViewFinity S5 monitor, my brief experience with it was very positive. Samsung is known for its quality products [Trusted Source: [invalid URL removed]], and this monitor seemed to live up to that reputation. Great for Work The large 34-inch screen was amazing for multitasking. I was easily able to organize and view multiple windows at once, which made working on instructional videos a breeze. The high refresh rate also made everything look smooth and fluid. A Gamer's Dream As a gamer, I was particularly intrigued by the monitor's specs and disappointed I wasn't able to test it out for gaming. The 100Hz refresh rate and large screen seem ideal for an immersive gaming experience. Difficult Decision Unfortunately, due to an unexpected job change, I had to return the monitor. While I only used it for a short time, parting ways with it was difficult. Overall, I was very impressed and would definitely consider buying this monitor again in the future, especially if I land a remote job that requires a lot of multitasking.

Solid Monitor w/out a Height Adjustable Stand

I use it for work and the standard internet browsing, like watching YouTube in 2k and 4k. Nothing fancy like hardcore PC gaming or video editing or anything that, so it's a solid monitor. However, my ONLY complaint about this monitor is the lack of a height adjustable stand. Without it, it's such an annoying inconvenience. I have a lot of regrets about it, but returning is incur a return fee from Best Buy, so I didn't. I don't why companies, let alone a reputable one like Samsung would sell a computer monitor without the stand because it's inexpensive additional cost considering their ginormous volume.

Here's a sample review forI recently purchased this for my Mac mini, and it has truly exceeded my expectations. The first thing that impressed me was the display quality. With a high resolution and excellent color accuracy, this monitor brings everything to life, whether I’m working on graphic design projects or just enjoying a movie. The refresh rate is perfect for gaming, providing smooth visuals and almost no motion blur, which is a huge plus for fast-paced games.

I am so happy with my new Samsung Monitor. I only buy Samsung for my TVs and Monitors as they have the best picture quality. The only thing is, I thought it was a curved screen and when it arrived I noticed it wasn't. No biggie. I was checking out many monitors and just didn't notice it wasn't curved. I love how big it is. I use Zoom for testing sessions with students and this allows me to have my Zoom and another window open, where I was using my TV and a laptop to conduct sessions online. I love the fact I only need 1 device for both!! The picture is sharp and wonderful. I highly recommend this monitor. I also love the fact that it has 2 HDMI ports on the back, excellent! Easy Plug-and-Play set-up.
