All the burners and the timer turn off and the cooktop goes into “D0” mode even if a single drop of water falls on the glass surface. Sometimes, the cooktop does not come out of the “D0” mode, and the only way to get it out of the mode is to reset the circuit breaker from the power panel. I don’t understand why would people at a premier consumer company expect that water will not fall on the glass surface while cooking - this defies common sense. Finally getting rid of this cooktop and replacing it with a gas cooktop from Thermador.

Read the instrucctions though, it's almost plug and play but not quite. Once you get the hang of it, it's smooth sailing. It's not easy to keep clean, If you are a clean freak, beware. The only bad experience was with the installation of the unit, not because of the unit, it was the service. I had paid for Installation and haul away but no one wanted to take my old equipment. So, beware of paying extra $ for a Haul Away that will not happen. I ended up having to pay someone else to take the old equipment away.

For my budget this was was the best value. When I went to the store to check it out, it met and exceeded all my expectations.

The buttons are WAY too sensitive and the stove comes on when you lay anything on the power button, even a towel. Even with the lock active, if something gets laid on the power button for about 20 seconds the lock resets and the stove will come back on unintended. It works fine but is definitely a safety hazard

It also looks very nice, easy to keep clean. The buying process was very good, the salesman was knowledgeable and professional. I would recommend it to friends or family should they need a cooktop.
