This brand new washer has a plastic tub and the bottom has separated from the sides causing clothes to get caught and tearing.

Overall, we are very satisfied with this washing machine. We bough it to replace an 18 month old front loading LG washing machine (after which my wife and I vowed to never again own another front loading washing machine). On the plus side, this machine gets our clothes MUCH cleaner than our previous front loading washing machine. The biggest / most noticeable difference is on our whites. On the minus side, as others have mentioned: on the standard cycle, the machine spins the clothes a lot at the end of the cycle. The result is that much of the water is wrung out of the clothes (good for short drying times), but, certain fabrics come out very wrinkled. In our case, we found that separating heavier items (towels/jeans/etc.) minimized the number of items that came out wrinkled, and, we have a steam dryer with a wrinkle removal setting which helps a lot. If it weren't for the one issue, I'd have given the washer a 5. It's a great value for the money. Doesn't have a ton of useless features that sound great, raise the cost of the machine, and then never get used at home.

    Top loader machine as described

This machine is as promised. I was use to a machine with an agitator so this is very different to me. Our clothes aren't dirty with stains or dirt so it is hard for me to tell if they are getting really clean. They seem to be clean but I am having a hard time thinking you can get clothes "really" clean with such a small amount of water and very little agitating! The entire cycle for washing/rinsing is almost double what I was use to but with such little agitation I guess this is how the clothes clean. I was worried about the locking of the machine but this does not seem to be a problem. I can just use the pause button and it unlocks in just a few seconds. I have used this machine for about 5 weeks and overall it seems just fine.

I've had this machine less than a month and I am still learning the different cycles and separating my clothes differently than I'm used to. I think once I get the hang of it, I'm going to love it.

We purchased this as a set back a few months ago. I had previously owned a very high-end LG front load washer and dryer prior to these. So I am used to high-end and used to a lot of features. Having said that these units do not disappoint! The washer is huge. The dryer is huge. They are very solid very clean and modern looking and I love the sleek modern red orange LED interface on the panels. You really think you spent ultra high-end money on these units as well as they are put together And as modern as they look and operate. And both units play a song at the end of their cycles witch adds a nice little touch at the end of your laundry day :) And obviously they are high-efficiency which saves money and water which is always a good thing. And I like the topmounted I deficiency over the frontload HE. I DON'T THINK WE WILL BE GETTING THAT ODOR PROBLEM LIKE WE HAD ON THE FRONTLOADING HE. It really is a pleasure to do the laundry now. And you get to save a bit of money by not having to buy the shelving units that the front loader sit on with these you don't need them. This is my first set of samsungs and they are really impressing me. Nice performance modern to look at and modern to work with. My only regret is that I did not get them in a slate gray type color. And my only Beefhide guess is that I was expecting these units to come with a watchable DVD instruction but it did not. My LG came with this and it was a nice feature. I was really looking forward to watching instructional videos on my new machines on my TV. But there is plenty of material on the Internet to learn about them I guess. Anyway super machines like them a lot would definitely recommend

We bought this washer on a whim. Our washer blew out and needed to buy another one fast. As with all mishaps in the home, they never come when it's financially feasable...no, they come when money is tight and you're on a strict budget! That was the case...needed a washer now, but was only able to budget $400 for one. Arrived at store, looked only at washers that were in Stock and available for take home. I had 3 options, 2 Samsung and one brand I'd never heard of...but was also looking at the washers capacity..I needed the largest, available now. Out of the 3 this one was discontinued and surprisingly at a discounted price. Advertised price was $549 on sale, after checking the sales lady said it was an even lower price of $419! Obvious choice. Took it home but wasn't expecting it to be too fancy or work wonders. Well I was wrong! Not only does it have a extra large capacity, it also doesn't have that middle pole inside washer so you can fit heavy blankets. It weighs the load and adjusts the water level accordingly. It has multiple wash choices and it has a nice soft ring tone when the wash load is done. It washes amazing! I have been using a cheap detergent but you can't even notice, now I know if you have a good washer, you don't need to spend extra $$ on fancy detergents! My only downfall is that the drum is so big and deep that I need a step stool to reach the clothes when emptying it out. But that's my issue, short stack ;) overall I'm so happy it was on clearance and available. .The timing was perfect. I love this washer, glad my old one blew out!!

I replaced a standard 10 year old unit, I would've never though I'd see such a big difference using a HE model. Less soap, cleaner clothes, and they come out damp, not soaked which cuts down kn the drying time. I've only had this machine for a month but so far I'm really impressed. Really glad I choose to stay with a top loader vs a front loader.. Would recommend this product to anyone.

Rated #1 in Consumer Reports. I usually don't make a purchase without looking for ratings in C.R. Also from what I found on other sites (Including Samsung & Best Buy). Found this a very nice, well made unit. Had an agitator top loader first, then went to Front loader after that one died. Front loader was nice, but loud when it spun dry. Plus it didn't last as long as the top loader did. Wife wanted top loader again. Time cycle is a bit longer than the agitator top loader, but less than the front loader. Takes about 1 hour for a load. Not really that bad. Plus the self leveling tub is pretty neat to watch. Clothes come out clean. Very impressed with this new technology.

The bottom of the drum separated and clothes got caught. In the middle of a cycle the plastic top on the drum started hitting the plastic above it and just shredded the plastic. Called Samsung and they pretty much said it was my problem and to pay to have it fixed.

My wife and I shopped around for a few weeks looking for a washer and dryer combo. While this was not the cheapest or most expensive, it has proven to be the best value of everything we looked at. If you are looking to just get by and save money, this may not be the one for you. If you are looking for the best on the market, this may not be the one for you. If you are looking at being able to wash anything in your house such as comforters and other large items without having to go to a laundry mat while still being able to wash small loads, this is the best bang for your buck. We have had them for over a month now and we do not have any complaints. They are smart and easy to use.

The only "negative" isn't really a negative...

The positives are endless for our family. As a family of 6, we do approx. 15-20 loads of laundry per week. This washer (over our previous 4.7 cubic foot front loader) cuts that number to under 10. The reduction in our electric bill was visable in the first month (about a $9-11 savings). The only negative is that if you buy ONLY the washer, your dryer will be working overtime. We have since, purchased the matching dryer. If we do a "full capacity" load of laundry in the washer, it took 2.5 loads in our old dryer (a 4.9 cubic inch front loader). So we simply couldn't keep up. We had clothes that were drying while waiting to be dried. I'll review the new dryer (SKU 5894631) after we've had it for about 45 days. Would have ZERO trepidation in making this decision to buy again.

The newer style machines without a center post are nice, especially for big bulky loads like comforters. The controls work nicely and we have set up the "my cycle" to use on most of our dark loads, we don't have to set any extra options when we do a load. The machine has done large heavy loads quite well and we are quite happy with it.

Pretty happy with this purchase, the machine seems to be washing fine. I was especially impressed with the Best Buy sales people, they were very helpful and unbiased. Multiple times they mentioned they weren't on commission and that there was a sale coming up that wednesday and all we had to do was bring the receipt back and they'd credit us back the difference. all in all a great experience.

When we first started using it it made some strange sounds we can not heard before and took a while to get use to. Does a great job if you don't over fill it. With towels need to get a second rinse to get all the soap smell out for them. The clothes come out of the machine much dryer than my old machine which allows the clothes to dry much faster. Overall very happy so far with this Washer.

Was not informed at the Best Buy store that this machine has a water temperature sensor and only washes luke warm even when the temperature is set to hot, except for when in Heavy Duty cycle. Not even the repair man knew, he had to call Samsung to find out what was wrong. I'm upset that I might have to pay for a service call because nothing was repaired and nobody at Best Buy could tell me when I called to complain that this machine does not wash hot even though it has a hot temperature setting; I got referred to Appliance Repair instead.

I couldn't be more pleased with my new Samsung high efficiency washing machine. My main reason for getting it was it's VRT (Vibration Reduction Technology). My Maytag - only 3 years old - sounded like a freight train coming through the house. I had to yell to talk over it. With this one, I honestly from time to time can't even hear it. I walked over to it the other day thinking I must've forgotten to do a load. It has a large capacity drum. It has multi settings. It weighs the clothing to know how much water to use. And, it spins them amazingly dry. I am pretty sure I actually take less time drying now. I couldn't be happier!

    Nice piece with a must-read owner's manual.

We bought the washer and matching dryer after some research. So far so good but there are things to know. First, get friendly with your owner's manual. If you're used to the standard washer that may be 10 years old or more, you'll need it. Second, you'll stretch to reach the detergent/chlorine dispenser as well as the bottom of the machine. Shorter folks should get a step to place in front of the machine. Interestingly, I'd never seen a top loader machine that didn't have the center agitator. It looks like the unit relies on multiple jets in the bucket and the spinning action to create agitation. Strangely enough, we washed a fitted sheet with other clothes and when we removed it, that sheet had somehow perfectly wrapped up the other clothes. Hmmm. One last thing, the cycle time is rather lengthy, far more so than the aforementioned older machine. I don't really mind as long as the results are good. Hope this review helped.

I choose this washer based on what I read in Consumer Reports. So far I'm pretty satisfied. It has enormous capacity so I can really wait a while to do a load. I do feel like it not having the center agitator prevents it from getting tough stains out but I feel like this is the best machine currently out there for the money. I'm glad I bought it!

    Great Washer!!

To be honest I the only thing I can say about this washer is that it doesn't have a sanitary cycle which is very useful in my family since I am a firefighter/paramedic and my wife is a CNA and we liked the option to sanitize our clothes with our old LG washer. Other than that I cannot complain about this washer. I was a bit skeptical at first because it doesn't have an agitator, but so far our clothes have always come out clean. Another plus is that this washer's spin cycle works great, the clothes come out almost dry. The downside to the super spinning is that the clothes come out a bit wrinkled. Not to worry though, if you have the matching dryer like I do you can set it on the Wrinkle Release setting and viola, problem solved. I have yet to experience any of the other problems that others seem to encounter, but I've only had this washer for about a month, so only time will tell. So far so good, I love it!
