Great Washer! Poor knowledge from Geek Squad

After I repaired our washer numerous times, it finally broke a locking latch and it was time to get another. Went to local BB and saw this in marked down section. Nothing wrong with it and I negotiated with the sales manager to knock it down another 20% off the marked down price with the purchase of the hoses, 5 year plan and recycle of old washer. As far as the washer goes, "It's great!" We are getting in 1 load what we normally would with 2 of the other washer. The features are fantastic as well. The only downfall we had was when BB delivered it which its not the reps fault, it's management and here's why. The Geek squad protection and delivery plan include installation and full set up of washer. The reps hooked the washer up and that was it. Management should do a better job in making sure Reps are properly trained in their field. I asked the reps about the Calibration settings to run before start up and they went blank. I sent them on their way, did some research and took care of it myself. These steps are as follows with pretty much "ANY" new washer according to manual. 1. install "of course" a monkey knows and can do that. 2. level the washer by turning the feet at bottom 3. verify that drum is level and not off side when looking in. If it is make more adjustments. The above step may need to be altered a little because the levelness of drum is most important. 4. Turn power on and press rinse and spin and let drum fill about a couple inches above agitator. Press pause. 5. verify drum is still level. If it isn't, adjust. 6. Press rinse spin again and let it do its thing. 7. grab about 6lbs of laundry and toss it in and run the rinse and spin option again. 8. If there are no further adjustments needed than it's time to calibrate 9. This particular model when power is off, hold in simultaneously the delay start, temp and power button. CB will appear on screen then press start. Let it do its thing. 10. You now are finished and will have long satisfying use of your new washer. I am not getting anything from this other than the pleasure of helping my neighbor. I would hope for the same.

    Only lasted 1.5 years

I purchased this washer and the matching dryer in May 2014. At first I loved the washer. Quiet, cleaned the clothes well, used little water, etc. After about a year of use I noticed an increase in sound from the washer (and dryer). It is currently November 2015. About a month ago I noticed a loud sound when the washer would go into the spin cycle. It wasn't an off balance load sound but more like a loud roaring sound. It occurred 80% of the time. I finally called a repairman when I knew for sure this wasn't a normal sound. He came out and told me it would be over $500 to fix the machine. The problem was a bearing issue. He didn't even charge me a service call to come out (was super thankful for that). I called another repair office and asked them over the phone if what I was told sounded correct. They said yes and that Samsung's are notoriously bad and they would never recommend them. SO...Here I am a year and a half later without a washing machine (after spending $600 on one 18 months ago). I never purchased an extended warranty because everything I had read said if the machines were going to have issues it would generally be after the 5 year mark. I gave this review 2 stars because I really liked the machine when it worked properly. It did exactly what I wanted it too without too many “bells and whistles”. But I am extremely upset with the fact that it lasted only 1.5 years. If you choose to purchase this machine PLEASE purchase the extended warranty. I wish I did!!!! My dryer is still working without any issues except for it being noisier than it originally was. I’m hoping it will last at least a few more years.

I read a lot of reviews and the orice of this washer was very affordable after my washer was slowly going I figure why not. Love it. Not only do you know the exact time the wash will be done but without having the middle part makes it so much easier to just throw your laundry in there without getting caught. The self clean feature is awesome as well

I couldn't pass up the great deal that Best Buy had on the matching dryer so this was a no brainer purchase for me. We needed a washer that can handle some heavy loads for a family of four. I also purchased the Best Buy service plan on all of the appliance for added protection.

    NOT your traditional washer!!

Some engineers put some serious redesign thinking into how conventional washers wash clothes and waste water. This washer uses considerably less water, so the clothes stick out above the waterline. This is disconcerting to see at first, but with some patience, you see that the cycle runs longer, interspersed with a couple of intentionally off-balance spins to shift the clothes and keep washing. If you're looking for the traditional "fill, wash, spin, fill, rinse, spin," then go find another machine. This thing is a trip! It slowly, steadily, almost imperceptibly rotates the clothes as it washes. The advantage is an open drum that washes more clothes at once so you end up doing fewer loads. You're freed up to do other things for an hour because you're not coming back to it.every 20 minutes. The spin cycle just gets faster and faster! Yet it's super quiet overall. It took some adjusting, but now I love this machine!

I have been using these washer and dryer for couple times. It has been working well. I love it and the price at Best Buy is good. Free installation is fabulous, too. They install and carry these heavy washer and dryer very quickly and professional. Highly recommend them for who wanna buy washer and dryer!

I was a little skeptical about this washer based on the BestBuy reviews but Consumer Reports gave it a great rating so I gave it a try. I'm glad that I did because it's awesome. It uses a lot less water and the spin cycle gets most of the water out of the clothes resulting in a much shorter drying time.

Ok I don't know how people are rating this machine with ratings less than 3 . All I can say is that you are doing something wrong. I have had this product since November, and let me tell you I do a lot of laundry. I wash clothes at least 3 to 4 times a week. Yes I have two kids and a wife that wears a lot of clothes. If you wash as much clothes as I do and the washer is still going ,that is true product testing. I have even washed bulk items. Get this washer it will not fail you. I don't think any samsung washer will fail you.

    What a Lemon

I'm writing this review to warn others. I would give this appliance 1/2 star if I could. After a year, our washer died. So, the year warranty through Samsung expired. However, the 10 year warranty on the Direct Drive motor was still intact. Trying to get Samsung to honor it? Honestly, it was a nightmare. We spent over a month without an answer from Samsung. We even bought a $300 extended warranty from Samsung, but even then they refused to honor the 10 year warranty on the motor. So, eventually, after Samsung admitted that they don't even make certain critical parts necessary to repair the direct drive motor (please note that this is a newer model machine), they refunded us our money. We had 3 different technicians out to look at the unit, and they all said it was a 10 year warranty issue. So, now we await delivery of a non-Samsung appliance. A word about Direct Drives (DD), which is a "latest greatest" technology found in many new appliances. In the top loading HE washers, the DD doesn't have any belts...the whole thing is driven by that DD motor. Below that motor is what looks like a pie pan, and the edges of that pie pan are lined with magnets. Those magnets create the low noise, anti-vibration and self leveling that these machines brag about. If your washing machine is not self leveling and not quiet, then get a tech to your house ASAP....that means that the magnets in that pan, located below your motor, are becoming dislodged from their glued in places, and your motor will soon be ruined as a result.

    Great.....but water temp messed up

Well, I really was very excited about this washer. Love the way it looks, it has a huge capacity and lots of good wash choices. It gets everything really clean and is pretty quiet. My one HUGE issue is that the temp is all messed up. I put it on "tap cold" and when I go to get my clothes once the cycle is finished they feel warm or even hot! What?? We've verified the cold/hot hoses are correct (they weren't after installation) but this continues to happen. I wish I would have been more proactive and exchanged for a different washer or something within the return/exchange period. For now i am still very careful about what I wash on what cycle and am scouring the internet for possible solutions.

I must say that this was a great buy. I upgraded my washer and dryer and must say I don't know how I lived without this pair before. I washed my first load of laundry (which was almost three loads in my old pair) in one load. It spins the clothes so good that it only took my load of jeans 20 minutes to dry!!! I want to wash laundry all the time!!!

Just got my washer delivered and installed yesterday and to my surprise, it looks great and large inside but still good fit to my 1b1b apartment. And I like the sound when you start and end, it is better than a single "beep" sound. Quiet and stable as a plus! I didn't see it at store before purchased it directly online. Overall, it is beyond my expectation when I saw it at home.

    Normal cycle doesn't work correctly

The normal cycle doesn't work properly. I can only get cold water even if it is set to hot, warm, or eco warm. If I unplug the machine and plug it back in, the hot water works for one load, but after that it must reset or something and I can only get cold water. Since it is less thsn a year old and still under the manufacturer's warranty, I had to deal with Samsung's awful customer service trying to get out of having to repair the machine and their awful repair company, Service Pro. After 2 visits by the repair company and the installation of replacement parts, it still doesn't work correctly. Even though it is still under warranty, I am sick of dealing with these people and they can't fix the machine anyway (one of the phone reps at Samsung tried to tell me that the normal cycle only uses cold water, which is nonsense and untrue as conformed by the manual), so I just don't use the normal cycle anymore. An expensive piece of garbage. I guess the problems with my machine aren't as bad as what other people have experienced though (leaking pump, unbalanced, destroying clothes). At least it looks nice and makes fun sounds. What junk.
