    Never worked right...

We recently had this washer delivered and installed. The first day we used it wasn't hard to discover, because of the looking glass door on top, that water wasn't filling up over the clothing. Upon the cycle ending we would have detergent residue left all over our clothing. We used the required HE detergent. We tried smaller amounts of soap and the required amount. We would extend the wash with an extra rinse cycle and nothing would work because the pan never filled up with enough water. I finally placed a bright piece of clothing right in the middle of the load and through the entire 82 minute cycle it never moved! I started off by reading through manuals and the troubleshooting area was not helpful. I went online and got caught up in a online chat with Samsung. The person I had never paid any attention to my conversation. You would think after providing serial number and product number he would have been able to walk me through the situation. Come to find out he got mixed up and was diagnosing my problem on a completely different washer. Disconnect! Called Samsung directly and got some guy on the phone that sounded like he was working in the middle of a warehouse. The noise level was ridiculous and half the time he couldn't hear me. When he answered my questions there was no level of tone - It was like talking to a robot. He finally said we need to have it serviced since we were getting NO codes on the machine indicating something was wrong. He collected my information and then said someone from a repair facility would be calling to set up a appointment. I told him this washer was going back to Best Buy and I was going to get something else since I was within 14 days of my purchase. So approximately 20 minutes later I get a call from a local repair store asking to set up a appointment. I told this guy I has no intention of going through with a repair and apologized on behalf of Samsung. I ended up going back to Best Buy and going through the return process and purchased something else. The staff at Best Buy treated me 50x better than Samsung and got me on track with a machine that would fit our needs. I honestly don't know what is going on with Samsung. We bought other Samsung items in the last month and when you go out to the Samsung website to register them they don't have product numbers in the drop down. You are forced to call them and register.

Washing machine not what I had hoped

I purchased this machine last August. I am not happy with the water level in my loads. If I want more water I have to up the time it takes to wash a load with the max time 80 minutes for one load! The washer tends to get off balance easily even though I try to equally balance my load. When I open the lid to readjust the load, the motor runs in three short segments BEFORE it starts back up again - weird! I cannot add soap to the wash water before adding clothes. You have to add the clothes, the soap, the bleach etc and then close the lid to start. In other posts many state it is a very deep washer. I am 5'4" and have to struggle to reach the items at the bottom of the washer. If I had it to do over again I would go back to a washer with a middle agitator. New ideas doesn't necessarily mean better ideas! I am very disappointed!

This machine is easy to use and quiet. The drum is big enough for all my comforters and or blankets so I am not washing them all day. I love the little ring tone at the end of the cycle letting me know when the washer is done.

This machine has been a nightmare

We are a family of 5 and have owned this washing machine for 2 years and it has been one of the worst purchases/experiences ever! It has been repaired 6 times and is currently in need of its 2nd new motherboard and new shocks for the tub. Samsung couldn't care less and are rude and unhelpful every time we've had an issue. The most recent being the spin cycle not working because it gets out of balance and starts shaking violently. I have redistributed the clothes 30 times before and it still doesn't work. We have had samsungs people out to repair it 4 times now and a month and a half later it still doesn't work. They replace a part then leave and make me wait weeks for another appointment. Samsung says as long as someone says they can fix it there is nothing they can do. I would rather go "office space" style on it with a baseball bat than put 1 more dollar of my money or time into this giant piece of junk. (All 3 of the repair people who have come recently to work on it have told me repairing samsung washers and dryers is basically how they make their living and they would never recommend buying one to anyone)

    Awesome washer for the money!

Love our new Samsung washer and dryer. Our laundry room is upstairs so we researched quiet models that were top loaders. The choice was between Samsung and LG. When we researched the two we found better ratings for Samsung. Glad we picked them. VERY Quiet! We can barely hear them running. A ton of features makes them a great value as they compared to other models higher in price. The Wrinkle Reducer on the dryer is really cool. It helps when you can get you close out right away. I would recommend these to my family!

    Great washer

Have had washer for 3 weeks now and it is great. One thing I see in the - reviews is that people do not read the manual on it, this is very important with the set-up of new washers. If leveled by the book and loaded right you will not have problems with it becoming unbalanced.

does a great job and saves time drying as clothes just damp when wash completed. it has a balance program but does seem to vibrate on high spin. takes longer to wash loads but no other complaint.

Washer is as good as people experienced!

After carefully reading the manual, a must do before operating one's very first wash, I successfully cleaned a 1st time small load. No problems and washer did an excellent job! I was leery at first because of some extreme customer reviews. I think these bad reviews are the result of no experience with HE washers and/or not carefully following directions in the manual. If you just wash laundry as you did with an agitator machine you will "STRIKE OUT" royally. It is extremely important the wash load is balanced with items placed evenly in the tub, heavy items in the bottom center. I am looking forward to future washing machine success.

    Wished I did more research

I thought I did some research on top loading washing machines and the Best Buy Pacific Sales rep convinced me that Samsung and LG were the way to go. After a month of using this Samsung washer I wish I did more research and searched consumer reports because this machine has many complaints associated to it. 1. The normal load takes at least 56 mins. I thought with a fancier, new machine there would be shorter times to wash a load. Unfortunately not. Bedding option was at least 86 min and the Quick Wash option is 30 mins but that option doesn't clean your clothes well. 2. HE - I assumed with HE this means using less water, to my dismay this is not the case for this machine. The amount of spinning involved for a normal load required so much new rounds of water. It was disheartening to see this slow and painful process. 3. For heavier loads like down covers you have to be around your machine. Whenever the cycle bin gets lopsided it gets confused and it extends the washing time by adding more water. You have to pause the machine to readjust your soaking wet items. I learned this hard lesson washing my down cover. This load ended up taking at least 1hr 45 min. Talk about a waste of water! Buy if you're a big fan of samsung washers, but be wary of them.

    DON'T BUY

This washing machine did not clean my clothes and left blue liquid laundry detergent stains on my white bath rugs! I purchased this since my old 15y/o washing machine was leaving holes in my clothes, I thought this would be perfect bc it has no agitator. I did a load of black delicates , the washing machine did not clean, there was white deodorant stains on my black shirts and my clothes did not smell clean. I then washed my white bath rugs on a normal setting and the washing machine left blue detergent stains all over my white rugs- I returned this machine the next day and purchased the GE model with and agitator it was around $479- It was delivered today and I could not be happier with my new purchase, it cleans the clothes and does NOT leave holes in them and it was a lot cheaper than this piece of over priced junk.

    Stay away from Samsung

    Posted .

Stay away from Samsung Purchased a WA40J30000 series washer on 6/4/15. Washer didn't work from day one. I now entered the Samsung merry-go-round. I was told that under no circumstances would Samsung replace the washer or refund my money until their "process" was complete. That process involved 7 service calls and the replacement of every electronic component except the motor. The repairman finally gave up. On August 10, 2015 I received a refund check. 10 weeks without a washing machine. My issue is not that the machine didn't work. The issue is how Samsung handles the problem. This problem was identical to a service issue I had with a Samsung TV. The Samsung "process" insures the consumer will be inconvenienced as much as possible. Having spent 10 weeks without a washer and after spending hours on the phone and rearranging my schedule to have 7 service calls I can safely suggest it would be easier to wash your clothes over a rock on the river than buy a Samsung product.

    Doesn't regulate water temperature

I've had this washer over a year and have just scheduled my 4th service call for the same problem - water temperature is irregular. For instance I've registered warm setting temps from 65 - 125 degrees. Eco Warm setting should be cooler than warm but I've tested it as high as 120 degrees. Just today I ran 3 loads, all on the same setting. First load was 65, second 122 and third was 120. First 2 service calls didn't solve the problem. One technician tried to tell me that it's my water heater, despite the fact that water in the sink next to the washer was fine. Then they tried to tell me that the machine doesn't actually check the temperature. Everything that can be replaced was with no solution. Third technician found the problem and fixed it - a wire underneath the machine. He was the first one that ever looked there. That was 4 months ago. Now it's broken again. I have to babysit each load and add cold water to bring down the temp. It's shrunk too many loads of clothes! So now I wait for my 4th service call. So much for the Geek Squad Protection Plan and the no lemon benefit. This could be a great machine if the temperature gauge would work. It can handle both small and very large loads. It does use a lot of water sometimes when it can't balance. It keeps filling and spinning until it gets in balance.

Worst washer I have ever owned!!!

I normally don't take the time to write reviews, but after a year of trying to figure out how to get clean clothes in this washer, I have to speak up. I have had 2 service calls and the second one from Geek Squad told me he hears this complaint all the time. Since I purchased a 2 year warranty, he suggested replacing the mother board. No difference, in fact the dark clothes came out worse - some kind of residue all over them. I have gone down to 2 tbsp. of HE detergent and have done everything they suggested, including using the clean cycle once a month. Nothing works! Not enough water and NO agitation to move the clothes around. My towels have a constant foul smell and I'm ready to replace them. Very frustrating - the thought of doing another load of wash makes me break out in hives! And this is after giving away a front load washer/dryer because of the constant smell in the drum. Technology has failed us!! I would give anything to have my old Whirlpool "agitator" model back. What we are supposed to be saving in water costs we are doubling in electric costs when you have to run a load 2-3 times to hopefully get clothes clean.

    Nice New Washer

I got this washer on sale, July 4th appliance sell. I really like it, it does a great job cleaning my clothes and Best Buy installed it with ease. I notice some of the reviewers whine about the water level, this is a high efficiency washer. The whole purpose is to not waste water!! However it still does a great job at cleaning clothes.

This has to be the worst washer ever. I don't know why it got so many good reviews?! I bought this item brand new. Tried both small and large loads, it unbalances VERY often and is difficult to get it just right. I returned the one i purchased thinking it may be just a fault in the machine. Got the new one, does the same thing. Do not buy, I guess I shouldve went with a front loader again.
