We bought this TV to replace an old SONY TV, That did not perform very well anymore. (the SONY also weighed a ton). We also own a Samsung 55" flat screen in our family room, which we love, so when the time came to replace the set in the bedroom we naturally went with a brand that we had confidence in. This coupled with the fact that all of our grown children and our close friends, have Samsung TV's, made our decision a "no brainer". The new set is "sooo" much lighter in weight, and the screen is extremely thinner, that it made it a snap to install.The picture quality, contrast and color are excellent. We are definitely pleased.

The TV is great for a bedroom tv or kids game room. If you plan to wall mount the tv the HDMI cables come out the back, and you'll need to modify your set up. The 2 HDMI ports are vertical and with a traditional wall mount the tv doesn't latch, because of the cables hitting the wall. I don't like the tv sticking out far, but as a temp fix I used longer bolts and plastic spacers to get an extra 1/2 - 3/4 inch. I bought a right angle adapter so the cables will be flat against the tv, and I can remove the spacers and have the tv closer to the wall. Since the HDMI ports are vertical, only one adapter can be used. We plan to have a PS TV to remote play our PS4, PS3, Wii, Firestick, etc... I bought a 5 port switch (Kinivo 501BN) to be able to connect everything on 1 HDMI cable. If you plan to wall mount this TV, I'd look for a different Samsung TV with HDMI ports on the side or bottom. I spent $60 for the 5 port switch box, right angle adapter, and shorter HDMI cables. Since everything connects to the 5 port switch on the entertainment center, I didn't want 6+ foot cables looking messy all over the entertainment center. I would recommend this tv to anyone wanting a cheap tv for kids or a bedroom. If you plan to wall mount it, I'd look for something else. It's pretty thick and the HDMI port set up isn't ideal. I ordered online and didn't pay attention to the thickness since it was LED, my other 2 Samsung LED TVs are very thin. After picking it up and actually wall mounting it, I'm sure this TV will be replaced when I get a larger tv for the front room within the next 2 years.

Before I bought this HDTV I was reading the reviews and that was enough to convince me about the product. Here is a personal rundown: Pros: Clean crisp picture quality and sound Bargain priced Attractiveness in design Light weight Remote is very flexible in it's use USB Port Cons: Could use an additional HDMI port I am very satified with this TV and I would immediately recommend it to a friend. Samsung came out with a winner with this! Good work Samsung!

This TV has a very clear picture and is a perfect size for a living room. It is lightweight, and it was easy to attach the base.

This was bought for a family member within our home. We are big Samsung fans. At the store we compared the color and clarity of other tvs and were happy with Samsung. We found the price online cheaper than at the store and they price matched. Set up was very easy. The TV is very light and this was helpful when we mounted it to the wall. This took 2 people, could have possibly just been one. Very quick to set up with Dish and remotes.

Gave it 5stars for the brand and value, great tv overall.. Of course would've been an amazing tv if the refresh rate and pixels were higher but if that's what you're looking for you gotta pay for it.... Picture quality is great though, sound is decent but I always use a bose sound system.. Don't hesitate on a great brand at a great value

Bought this TV during Black Friday at a good price. Given the features/functionality, its a fantastic deal. Picture/sound is great. I've had a larger Samsung in gameroom for a couple of years and have had no issues so expect similar quality/reliability from this TV as well. Size is perfect for bedroom and was able to use a relatively small mount to wall mount. Two HDMI connectors is adequate for my use as well.

Would buy another one. Excellent picture. The price was great for the item. Easy to set up. The price was better than any other store around. Would recommend this item to any one. I like that it is thin and does not take up a lot of space.

this Samsung tv has excellent color, definition and detail. It was easy to handle and to set up compared to our old box type sharp tv set. it was very easy to read and to understand the instruction manual and to adjust and program the various screen settings. I would highly recommend this Samsung product to others>

Samsung clearly makes decent products, and for the price I paid over the holidays for this TV, I am pleased. That said, I don't love the TV. It could be better--in terms of refresh rate (but I knew that when buying it) and I really wish I had paid the thirty dollar difference to buy the Smart version of this TV. But, little did I know that Roku was not all powerful! Roku only will let you use their specific channels--not open up a directl webpage where you wish to view content. The only way around this is really to download something to your Roku and then view it or to use Plex and add it to your queue. But, sometimes you just don't want to do all that work... So, although I had my laptop hooked up before to watch my shows and visit random websites and thought my Roku would be as powerful as that ghetto set up, it's just not... In fact, even for the supported Netflix channel, it won't let me use my profile!! That's not a complaint about the TV really--more about Roku. But, the bottom line is: I would buy the Smart version of this TV if I could get a do-over. If you are happy with Roku or whatever you use to make your TV somewhat Smart, you will be pleased with this purchase for the holiday price.

You can't really do any better than a Samsung for a flat panel TV. Samsungs are known for their color reproduction and picture quality. I returned this TV for a bigger Sharp that was on sale a week after for a great price, but I would recommend this Samsung to anyone in the market for a 40". It doesn't have a high refresh rate (I prefer motion blur, anything higher than 60hz looks weird to me) or SmartTV capabilities, but that stuff comes down to personal preference. If you have a console or a roku, you don't need any built in apps. If you want a standard TV that does the job well and looks great, this is your best bet.

Perfect size for the room and easy to set up. Phone help was available when I had a problem and they called back to see if the problem was solved. This TV replaced a 30 year old 19 inch screen and the difference in the picture is amazing. It is very light and easy to move.

This TV is great. Nice size, great picture! We got it as a gift for an older family member who isn't very tech savvy. They haven't had an issues, its easy to use. Also, very easy to set up. It may seem like the screws are a little loose at first, but they aren't.

Has the best picture and the setting allow you to personalize every thing. I love the sound, color and everything is easy to use! Excellent buy for the money!

This unit has a very clear picture, excellent color, good audio and fits well in a good size living room or bedroom. I like the size - it is not over powering and not too small. Quality seems to better than average and a very good choice for the money.

Straight out of the box, easy set up. Excellent quality. I have had this TV for a month now and I love it. It is a perfect TV for any room. The colors are bright and vivid, sound is excellent and set up was so easy I was done in under 10 minutes.

This was a perfect gift for my son'r room. he loves sports and this tv is surprisingly good for the fast action regardless of the 60htz refresh rate. Great colors and really great sound from internal speakers. I would def recommend this.

This Samsung TV was a great value for the price. We were very pleased with the quality and ease of use. The 40 inch screen is great for family viewing. We love Samsung products and this TV did not disappoint; it is a great product.

Great television picture with a simple mount that sets up easily. Wish I could have one in every room in the house! Excellent value with a reasonable price!

I got this TV as part of the black friday xbox bundle. It is definitely the best looking image in the house. The 40" is perfect for a small gameroom. Sound is great. I recommend tuning some of the brightness settings prior to use. There is a HDTV calibration tool in Xbox which allows you to tune it for best picture. Or hook up a Chromecast to it and play a video and calibrate it to your liking. Just turn down the backlight, contrast and sharpness, etc.. Takes 5 minutes and the picture looks great. ABC, CBS, and NBC look great on it. I think Fox broadcasts at 720p - great for sports but it doesn't look that pretty. The PBS stations also don't look that nice. If it's on sale, I highly recommend this TV.
