This 40" Samsung TV is an upgrade for me and replaces a 32" Sharp flat panel LCD model. The Sharp unit was acceptable but did not compare to the Samsung LED unit as far as overall sharpness of picture and sound quality. I purchased this TV approximately four months ago and, so far, am totally pleased with it.

This television had great reviews online, and didn't disappoint in the store, it stood out immediately next to the competition. DO NOT BUY A VIZIO ON GROUPON, the sale isn't worth it. The reason I only give it 4 stars is because it only has one set of composite jacks, which I currently use to connect my older model DVD player. My previous set had multiple connectors, and connected the DVD player AND my stereo receiver. Also, during brief moments of video black (between commercials or between intro scenes at the beginning of movies), I notice a faint white smudge-like image. I don't see its with any picture on the screen, only when the TV is on, but no image. I do plan to call about it soon. Bonus: about 2-3 weeks after buying the TV, I noticed the price had dropped about $50. Best Buy allowed me to adjust my price, and refund me the difference with no hassle.

I bought this TV for my workout room. I was looking for volume quality as I want to be able to watch TV while running on my treadmill. Volume is great! It also has the capability to see what shows are coming up on the channel. This is a plus as I use an antenna. Everything else with the TV is great as well.

This 40" HDTV was purchased for a small apartment. It is the perfect size and has a beautiful picture. We have other Samsung TVs and think they are the best. We wouldn't buy anything else.

I love this. Has great sound. The speakers sound so good and the picture looks wonderful.the size is perfect for my room. The best tv I ever had. I love the size and got this at a very good price. It is well worth it to get this television.

After extensive research I picked this TV over several others. The reviews were favorable and the price was right. It's smaller than my previous TV but it's a very clean picture and the sound isn't that bad either although I did purchase a sound bar. Happy with my purchase.

I bought this TV for my bedroom, and have been very happy with the HD quality and refresh rate. This TV would be perfect for any living room as well, but I am planning on getting a larger screen size for the living room. For the price, quality and overall satisfaction I would recommend this to anyone.

I live in a very small apartment and this size worked great. The color, clarity and sound and wonderful. Easy to hook up and use.

This is a great HDTV. The picture is superb, the sound is okay, the setup was extremely easy. It is used with basic digital cable and an over-the-air tower antenna. There are two HDMI connections which are used for an AppleTV and cable TV (necessary for OnDemand viewing with AppleTV). There is only an optical digital sound out port (no mini plug or RCA plugs) which means my old sound system would not work with the new TV. It was time to buy a Samsung sound bar with optical digital in port which works great with the HDTV.

Purchased for mom in law, who is 87. She had a TV from the dark ages that finally started to fail. At first the size seemed to intimidate her. But now she loves it. I chose Samsung because I love mine. Great picture and I mean great. The colors are amazing. Have had for 3 years with constant use.

We have always been satisfied with Samsung's picture quality and this was no disappointment. If I have any criticism it would be that the sleep timer is not as easy to use as the Sony I previously owned. The TV is in the bedroom so not leaving it on while getting a good night's sleep is a priority.

My brother, sisters, and I purchased this TV for our elderly parents. This is their first HD television and they are very happy with it. They had a Sony before that , although it worked, did not have a clear picture. It was at least 10+ years old so we thought it was time to upgrade. Of course, everyone agrees that this was a great Christmas present. The price and size were just right!

What a steal for only $280. This tv has great picture with multiple HDMI inputs

It was either this or a smart tv. I decided to go with this one because the apps seemed useless due to the fact that I own an Xbox one. The sound on this tv is ok, I would recommend a sound bar for it. The picture is great. Overall it's a great buy.

Purchaced this TV for an elderly relative. Setup was quick and easy. Picture quality and sound are excellent. Price was very reasonable fo a basic 40-inch flat screen TV.

I purchased this tv on sale, and am happy with my purchase. I only wish I had chosen a smart tv, but didn't think I'd need one for my bedroom...silly me. I will eventually upgrade, but I will keep this one around. It is a great size and the picture quality is awesome!

This tv is a great buy. Really clear picture. Easy to set up. We love it!

The process was amazingly fast. From unpacking to connecting the cables and setting up the remote, it look less than 15 minutes. Great vibrant picture and very thin profile that allow us to put it safely on w fireplace mantel. A great buy at a very competitive price
