We purchased this TV to replace a 20th century model. Space was somewhat limited, so we selected the maximum size that would fit. The picture is superb, sound is adequate alone, but we run through a sound system for movies. Easy set up and operation - no problems.

I wanted a setup that allowed me to play games with my fiance without having to deal with split screens or anything like that. So I picked up 2 of these and now we sit side by side & play games whenever we can. It's an awesome experience. And no, your wife probably won't let you do this, so don't ask her. As for the TVs, the picture is solid on both Xbox 1 & PS4. It's not a SmartTV but no worries, the systems have those apps covered.

Great price on blackfriday. Picture on the tv is what is expected for its price range (pretty good). Perfect size for the bedroom. Do not have cable hooked up to it mainly use the smart tv gadgets: Netflix, hulu, youtube. Smart apps work flawlessly.

The 40 inch Samsong TV is great. The picture is very bright and shows the colors vividly. We attached it to the wall and it was very light to hold up. The only drawback was the length of the electric cord. Had to attach an extension cord to make it reach.

I picked up this TV for my son on Black Friday, for a Christmas gift. First off, the buying process on Best Buy was very simple, and the shipping was free, can't beat that. As for the TV, beautiful picture right out of the box, great colors, and a great picture from any angle in the room. The sound is decent for the TV speakers, nothing spectacular, but the addition of a soundbar makes quite a difference. The only drawbacks I have seen so far, is that there are only 2 HDMI ports, which cuts back on the optional equipment you can have plugged into it at one time. With the cable box using one of the ports, that only leaves 1 port for a blu-ray or gaming system, or whatever else you may have to plug in to hdmi. We have since purchased an HDMI switch through Best Buy, to solve that issue. One other drawback, for me anyways, is that there are no external buttons on the tv, like a power, volume or source buttons, in case you wanted to operate those functions from the tv, which may be an issue if the remote gets lost. All in all, this is a great quality TV, with great picture quality, that I would recommend to anyone looking to purchase this TV

Replaced a 26" CRT style TV with a 40" led Samsung TV. Have two smaller led TV's; one Samsung and the other a weekend special. Samsung always delivers excellent quality at a reasonable price. Liked it so much we rushed back and bought a second!

This TV is very good. This is my third Samsung tv. MY other two are smart tvs but the picture on this is just as good. Very easy to set out the box.

love the tv. great pic, easy to use, good rating would recommend to anyone who is looking for a good tv for a bedroom or small room for a kid or young adult. may not be a great choice as a primary tv

I purchased this basic 40" Samsung HDTV for my 93 year old mother-in-law. Her previous flat screen died and I was looking specifically for either a Samsung, Sony, or LG 40" HDTV. Since she does not have the internet in her home, it is senseless to pay extra for a smart HDTV. The Best Buy I went to had the Samsung UN40H5003AFXZA in stock for $350. I have two Samsung HDTV's (one being a top of the line 55" model) in my house so I was familiar with the band and knew the quality of the product I was purchasing. Unfortunately, when I unpacked the TV at my mother-in-laws home, I discovered the screen had been damaged. I returned to the Best Buy store and the employee apologized and replaced it with another within a matter of minutes. I set the up the TV and it works just fine for her. It gets a very good HD picture and the sound is loud enough for her. I did have a problem programing her older Time Warner Cable remote with the new TV. It appears the older remote could not be programed to preform all of the necessary functions of this newer model. I will swap the TW remote for her when I get a chance.

This TV was easy to setup and is the best size for the space we allotted for it. Programming was a snap and it was up and running in less than 10 minutes. As stated, the picture is great!

This is the third Smart TV I purchase. I bought this as a gift for my father. He enjoys all the features, applications and it is easy to use. Good quality. I am very happy to see my retired Dad enjoy watching his show on this Smart TV.

My husband and I are both very happy with our new samsung 40 inch tv. It was very easy to set-up, the picture is great. Would definitely recommend this tv to friends and family.

Purchased for master bedroom. Great picture, if viewed from directly in front of screen. In my opinion, this would not be a good television for a family room where the set might be viewed at any side angle whereby the quality drops significantly; skin tones are absent color and people look ghost-like. I would have returned this television had I not received "Black Friday" type pricing and were viewing it from other than one direction; that being directly in front of the set.

Easy setup right out of the box. Nothing difficult or technically challenging. Nice picture especially in dynamic mode though as with Samsung TV's you can set to your own taste. Sound ok but much better experience with a soundbar etc.

After looking at a few different models of TVs we chose the Samsung 40" HDTV. The picture and sound are great and it was easy to hook up.

My boyfriend and I purchased the tv on black Friday. The tv was easy to connect and the picture quality is good. This tv was a replacement tv for the bedroom. This is the second Samsung we added to the household and we love it.

I purchased this TV over a month ago and couldn't be more pleased with the quality. The picture is amazing, the sound is great. Easy to use and plenty of inputs for all devices. This one went in a spare room so it's not used all the time but I've used it enough to give this TV a HUGE 5 Star Review. Samsung makes good stuff. I wanted something that was great quality, good price, lightweight, and 1080p. Nailed It!!

with help of guidance to compare features I am glad of the choice I made as comparison was explained to me and am happy with the picture quality, ease of changing any feature, and overall quality. Am very happy with my selection

After reading online reviews, I narrowed this purchase to the Samsung or the Insignia. The in-store set looked like the Samsung picture was just a little brighter. Tv was easy to set-up and price was excellent for this size set
