Looking for a TV for the bedroom and I was able to get this on sale. Easy to set up, picture quality is good and the web browser and smart apps work great. I would have liked to have more than 2 HDMI ports but all things considered the sale price was too good to pass up.

Purchased in store for my father-in-law who still had an old 27" tube TV that he claimed had a great picture and there was no need to replace it. When we installed the new Samsung 40" he couldn't believe the difference. Great picture quality and sound. Happy Customer!

We got this free for purchasing an 55 inch Samsung Ultra HD 4K tv - so I wasn't expecting any special. The color and picture is very nice - and having built in Netflix, Hulu, AmazonTv, etc is very convenient. The sound was only fair - we later bought a soundbar with a subwoofer for it which, while not 5.1 surround, is much better.

The UN40J6200 is the first flat-screen TV I have ever purchased. I've been checking prices of various models, and BestBuy had lowered the cost of this model $100 below their normal bargain price right before Thanksgiving. I also had the Geek Squad do the delivery and setup, which took only 15 min. A couple of minutes to download and install a software update over WiFi, and a few more minutes to connect to about 20 OTA channels (I do not have cable). The OTA channels came in very clear and I was amazed at the quality of the picture. This TV is packed with a lot of features, most of which are easy to get at via either the Menu or Tools button on the remote. The remote is is well designed. The hardcopy documentation that comes in the box gives you the basics, but there is an e-manual built in. I recommend you download the pdf manual from the Samsung web site because it's easier to navigate. The sound quality is very good, given the size of the set. There is a menu selection for wall-mounted or stand mounted. The DTS simulated surround sound works well with the internal speakers. There are menu selections that are either dimmed or not visible at all, depending on other menu selections or what is physically connected to the unit. For instance, under Picture settings, Stadium is only visible if you have selected "Sports" under the System menu and BD Wise picture mode is only available if you've connected an HDMI Samsung Blu-Ray player to one of the HDMI sockets. The documentation could be better in this regard. Some reviews posted here about other Samsung sets complained about slow turn-on speed, slow updates, and poor sound. This has not been my experience. The internet WiFi connection runs at about 10Mbits/sec, which is fine given the location of the set. You may want to get a repeater if your connection is poor... Overall, I am very happy with this television.

Picture quality is great, blu-rays look amazing, Amazon movies are amazing, wireless speed also excellent. My only downside to the TV is, the speed at which SmartHub loads. It can take a fill 1.5 minutes from startup. In contrast, I have another 40" Samsung with an earlier version of SmartHub that only takes 30 - 45 sec to load. All in all this is a solid purchase. I paid $379 + tax over the x-mas holiday.

We bought this TV for our vacation home which has a small living room. 40" is the perfect size there. Like the 50" Samsung we bought for our primary house this TV has great picture quality, was easy to set up and is a great value. However also like our larger TV this one needs a sound bar to have good audio to go with the picture.
