I bought one of these for my wife and because it is an older model, I got a great price. I already had another Samsung TV (32 inch) I used for gaming. I think I've had it for about 10 years or so and it still looks and works great. Once I set up my wife's 40", which was a snap, however, I was jealous. So the next day I went back and bought one for me, too! I like Samsung and I love the pictures on these TVs. It isn't UHD, or anything but I'm 53 and pretty sure I wouldn't be able to tell the difference, anyway. Bottom line is this thing has everything I needed in a smart TV and I got it at a good price. When we are ready to buy the 60" for our theater room, rest assured, it will be Samsung.

The perfect size for my bedroom. The TV powers on quickly. The best feature is the ability to program 3 different "on times" so like a alarm clock, the TV wakes me up. I shared this with a BestBuy associate and she decided to use this feature to power on the Samsung TV's when the store opens to save time. Setup was very easy. I would have preferred more HDMI ports (only has 2) I had to order an HDMI switch to accommodate more devices such as a ROKU, DVR and Cable box.The base/stand is solid. picture quality is solid. Great Smart TV.

Incredible picture and features for this price range. Easy setup and easy to use menu. Very thin profile and lite weight to handle. Sound is better than expected thru this TV and an upgrade from my previous Sony. Very good for gaming, but would upgrade to the next model up if that is a major priority. All in all I am very impressed with this unit and Samsung's ability to continue to drive the market. I recommend that it be considered if you are in market for a 40".

The picture quality is great. It handles colors very well but shades are a lil lacking. However it is much better than my LG with shades/dark scenes. The streaming platform is much better also(much more than LG or sony). All that being said I had to buy a sound bar to watch movies, because the volume range is terrible. I really like this TV though great price for the size!

We just bought this TV. We have had another of the exact same model for about 3 yrs and it is really nice. Clear pic, good sound, pretty easy to use and set up for someone who is not of the "techy" generation. We use it for gaming , movies and streaming . We have a PS set up with it. Like this TV very much.

Had to replace a very old Olevia 32" 720p which had become frustrating. Now its such a relief, I have it all from smart functions and larger screen as well as great picture and value. Easy to set up and use. Hard to believe it cost about half of the old set, but then that Olevia was a pioneer LED from long ago. Very happy with it and bought another without the smart functions for my mother. Ideal second or third tv.

This Samsung 40” HDTV was purchased for our rather big kitchen. We usually have a TV on just like having a radio playing in the background. We use it to catch the morning and evening news and for sporting events while preparing meals and eating. This model TV has excellent color and a very vivid picture and is especially good for sporting events. I prefer to set the HDTV video, depending on the manufacturer, in the dynamic or vivid mode. This TV is not vivid enough for my taste in the normal mode but is so bright in the vivid mode that I had to tone it down some. That is surprising. Pros: TV is operational within 5 seconds of power on. Color is very good. Picture is brighter than most other HDTV’s leaving room to adjust to a preferred level. Smart functions are user friendly. Has that excellent picture that Samsung has become well known for. Connection to wifi was quick and easy Cons: TV will not sense when an input (from a satellite box) becomes active to turn itself on as my other Samsung and Sony TV's do. The owner’s manual is down loaded from Samsung and displayed on the TV.

I took other reviewers advice and bought this TV for a guest bedroom. It was really easy to set up and figure out without the need for the quick reference guide. Much better sound than the one I replaced. Fairly lightweight on top of the furniture for a 40" screen and has been working great for a month now.

I love the picture on this TV. It is crystal clear and the colors are true. The smart functions work smoothly. The only thing I am disappointed in is the remote,

A great TV for the price. The 120Hz refresh rate is excellent and give a really watchable picture. One star off due to no wall mount accessories. You can pair a bluetooth mouse to it and that makes navigation a lot easier than using the remote. Outstanding smart TV feature - Easy to setup and use. Takes a short time to log onto the house wifi but not too long.

I wanted a larger tv, and was adamant that I was NOT going to purchase a "Smart" TV - however, once I got a good look at all the things Smart TV's had to offer ... I have to tell you I was feeling rather silly. I hadn't bothered to check out why they're called "Smart" TV's - I not only purchased this tv, I LOVE IT! Best picture I've ever had on a tv - clear, color is perfect and loving my Netflix, YouTube, etc. availability! I HIGHLY recommend this tv!

This is a great TV! I love the color and depth. It is easy to maneuver around and it has some cool features like auto adjusting to the level of light in the room. It is very light and I can swivel it around in any direction. I am very pleased with the TV and the price.

My TV was a Geek-certified open box item. I had no problems setting it up. The menu for adjusting the colors, background light,etc. is very easy to understand. The picture is clear and the colors are vibrant. I have not used the Smart features yet since I just now ordered an HD cable box and internet from my cable provider. The sound is very good on this TV so I do not plan to get a sound bar. I was torn between this model and a Samsung UD 4K model. I could not justify the $400 price difference at this time, so I purchased this TV. I do not regret my decision.

This is the 3rd Samsung LED TV I've purchased (2 for my home and 1 as a gift) and I continue to be very satisfied. The picture is excellent, the features are robust, and the build quality is generally very good--especially when compared to cheaper brands like LG and VIZIO, etc. My only complaint about Samsung is that, due to their rivalry with Apple, their TVs do not "play nice" with Apple products. Therefore, while you can "use your compatible phone or Tablet as a remote" as advertised, they are referring only to Android-based products. There are no Samsung apps in the Apple App store. Still, the TV has Netflix, HBO Go, Hulu, Web browsing, and access to lots of games, so it still qualifies as a very good Smart TV.

This tv is the perfect size for my den. Not too big and not too small. The sound and picture are exceptional . This is my third Samsung tv in my home and have yet to be disappointed. Very reliable and easy to use. Since it had a great review with Consumer Reports that was the deciding factor.

This TV has great clarity and color. Easy to hook up and navigate. Love the Smart features, which allow me to browse the web or use an app.

My wall-mounted 40 inch Samsung LED Smart HDTV is such a treat! The quality of the picture, sound, features and ease of use are exceptional. Very pleased with light weight for easy mounting.

The 40" Samsung Smart TV with 120 refresh doesn't disappoint. Picture is great and all of the latest apps are quickly available for download. Sound is fair - it seems like we need to really crank it up to hear it properly.

I'm very pleased with my purchase. I went shopping on black Friday looking for another television, but chose this one instead. Since purchasing this television, my wife has commented many times about how crisp, clear, and pretty the screen images are. We couldn't be happier with the television. Oh, who am I kidding, I bought 40 but would be much happier with a larger set. Alas, the wife nixed the 50 in or larger in the bedroom, TV that is. Any way, lovely purchase, easy to use Smart features.

I have two of these now, will buy another one when the plasma goes out in our third bedroom. Light weight and easy to mount on the wall. Great picture, easy to operate.
