This is our second Samsung Smart TV, and I'm pleased with it. I love the menu items that appear when turning the television on, which make apps like Netflix and YouTube more easily accessible. It took me a while to figure out the best picture setting for most of the shows that I watch, but overall, the picture quality is excellent.

Size, quality and sound. Wish the Remote Was More modern.

This was our 3rd TV purchase within a few weeks. Two for us, one as a Christmas gift for my mom. This one was for us as our bedroom TV just went out. It amazes me the advancement TV's have made in just a few years. The characters look like they are popping out of the TV ... the clarity is absolutely incredible. We love this TV!

I liked the tv so much I also purchased the 65 inch version for our rec room. The quality of the picture is outstanding. For a small to medium sized room, I think the sound is fine and a sound bar is not necessary. 4k movies on Netnlix are incredible. The quality/price relationship for this 40 inch television is exceptional.

When I compared the picture of this model to what I was going to purchase, the switch, which was a good deal more expensive, was easy. This was my first smart TV to install/setup my self. With only a little help from my local DirectTV installer all went well - the TV did all the work! My first Samsung TV - so far so good!

I bought this tv in Dec. of 2016 within a few months the tv would turn itself off or switch from what I was watching to HDMI 1. I contacted the warranty department with Samsung and they wanted to do a remote access session which I allowed and they had me unplug it to reset it so I did and it didn't fix the problem. I asked to have it repaired or take it somewhere for repair and was told to use it awhile and see what happened. What happened was the warranty ran out and it got worse now it changes channels and the sound goes real low or jumps up really high. The remote falls apart continuously the cover will not snap in place. It has a great picture but that's about it. I will not ever buy another Samsung tv due to the poor customer service and quirky problems it continuously has.

Got this TV for my office for convience. Simple mart TV, easy set up, good pitcure for my use.

This is my 3rd Samsung. This unit replaces the 40" (1080p) I had that was about 6- 8 years old that was caught up in the recall for a bad capacitor. I missed the recall notice (or was never advised) and when mine went bad, it was about a week passed the deadline. For $25 I was able to fix it myself and after about 2-3 years it started to act up so I decided to replace it. We have a 52" that has been rock solid for over 10+ years so we purchased another Samsung. The new TV is quite nice, great picture and the overall size is much smaller than the 40" that we replaced. Much lighter, more technology and connection possibilities. This is a Smart TV so we are still working our way around the new programming options (e.g., HBO, Netflilx) available via the interface. So far, so good. Getting the remote to work without Verizon FIOS remote is still a work in progress but I believe it can be done. Overall, very happy with the purchase and the sale price we paid.

Bought this tv on sale. For the price there was nothing better. Samsung simply makes better tv's then the rest. The controller works with everything and is the only one you need. Smart functions are fast and quick and easy to navigate. Picture quality is great. Definitely the best mid tier 4K tv you can buy.

I purchased this to serve as a very large monitor, not as a TV. With the high resolution, it is comparable to four 20" 1080 monitors. Text and images are both very clear even at the close distance of a computer monitor. Colors seem very accurate next to my laptop screen, which is color calibrated for design work. What little video I have watched on the screen has been clear and smooth. The scaling appears very good with low-quality internet video. I don't have any complaints for use as a 40" UHD monitor. REMOTE The remote is very simple, but thoughtful & easy to use. SOUND from BUILT IN SPEAKERS The built-in speakers are reasonable for low level music at close range and are better than the sound from my laptop speakers. The sound quality is slightly better than average for TV speakers and would suffice for a small room or low volume viewing. APPS I don't use the apps, but tried them just to see how well they might function. The built-in apps for Netflix and Amazon Prime load almost as quickly as the Roku 2 box. Navigation through the menus and options is very quick, no noticeable lag.

This tv is crystal clear and very easy to operate.
