    Awesome Upgrade

I bought this television to upgrade from an 8 year old 40" LCD 1080p 60 MHz Samsung and do not regret it at all. I love the smart TV features. It was very easy to set up. The picture is awesome. One of my favorite features is the automatic brightness based on ambient lighting which means I'm not blinded by the television when I first wake up. The one issue I have found is the smart remote doesn't work with my Cisco cable box even though the model number is listed. The remote issue is why I only gave this 4 out of 5 stars. My cable provider did note recently I am using some old equipment which the rep recommended I upgrade. This may change with new equipment.

I bought this tv for my daughter for Christmas. I set it up today, and it was really easy. The picture quality is extremely nice. I know that programs are only broadcast in 720P (1080I), but this picture looks like better quality than that. My daughter can stream movies from a variety of sources. One thing Samsung does still make is televisions. Stay away from their appliances; the company was tough to deal with for the appliances, but I believe their tv's are among the best on the market.

My family and I have been very impressed with this TV. The picture quality is excellent. Sound is not the greatest with the included speakers, but what more can you expect. They are decent.

    Great Picture....Unusual Remote

I originally had an issue with the set-up, but turned out to be an issue with the HDMI cable. It was a new cable, but very inexpensive. I suggest just not buying the cheapest one you can find....you s/b okay. Once the set-up was complete, it had a great picture. Have not used the smart features much, but seem to function properly for my very limited use. About the only negative is the remote. It is an odd looking thing and almost appears too simple to handle all the functions a usual remote should perform. Once I programmed my cable service remote to work with the TV, Samsung's remote went into a drawer.

I finally upgraded to a smart TV. This is also my first Samsung, The quality and picture are absolutely amazing. Much easier to set up and work than I thought. I love how I have everything on one unit now and don't have to constantly change over to watch Netflix ect. I will be replacing all my TVs with the Samsung smart TVs . Very very happy with this purchase . And as always Best Buy employees are always so helpful and informative in store .

Colors are sharp and no need to calibrate the TV. Remote works with most devices, but I wish it had numbers on them because if you wanted to go to a certain channel on Directv, for instance, you have to use the Directv remote. The Samsung remove can only go up and down. But otherwise this is a really great TV and it's very lightweight and slim, too!

Using it as 4K Computer Monitor for Desktop Apps

Bought this TV to use as a 4K computer monitor with a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and docking station. The TV supports chroma 4:4:4 so text and business graphics are super sharp and crisp! I'm very happy with the purchase, and at $450 or so out the door it certainly is a huge bang-for-the-buck. I could have spent a $1000+ on a dedicated 4k computer monitor that was only half the size, but since my needs do not include gaming (the response time/frame rate are perhaps not sufficient for ultra gamers) I didn't care. Best purchase I've made in years. Note: If you are a Surface Pro 4 owner, and have the external 2-DisaplayPort docking station, you will need to use an HDMI cable and the correct HDMI cable adapter to achieve 4k resolution at 60Hz. It needs to be a so-called "Active" adapter, not just a basic cable. I bought a "Cable Matters" HDMI to mini-DisplayPort Active adapter and it works perfectly. You can find them online for less than $20.

I am a Sony person because of the exceptional color quality. Purchased this Samsung model because of the features (# HDMI inputs, 4K, size). Really easy to setup. The user interface was VERY easy to navigate and understand. When I finally got to see a picture--WOWSA! Sharp picture, excellent WiFi connection for streaming. Good set of apps included also. Am now considering replacing my Sony 55" with a larger Samsung.

It is not legit 4K but dang does it look good still. You can't beat the price if you don't mind sacrificing some quality that you probably won't even notice. If that doesn't bother you I would definitely go this route. I needed one in my office and this sweet little puppy works nicely while I work on stuff on the weekends! I also love that you don't really need a roku since you can just access a ton of apps from the TV!

I bought this particular model to fit in a built in cabinet space in the basement with other equipment and replaced old 27" TV. What surprised me the most was great antenna reception from the basement (Lincoln, NE) which I did not expect any in a centermost room. I had to but an optic to RCA adapter to use with old stereo system (I did not want to change that as mounted Bose speakers were set up around fireplace). See that in another review. Took some getting used to on the remote but I like it now, everything is on screen and not a thousand buttons I can't find. Smart TV works well with wireless and plays YouTube and Pandora and Netflix and I'm sure more that I don't use. Easy to set up. I use a cheap VHS/DVD played for those kinds of inputs and as I said free over the air antenna reception is excellent. The stand was not that great but then again, once I set it up, I never touch it so doesn't matter. However, I do wish I could tilt it down a little and cannot with the stand it comes with. Also very little if any glare and I have spots on the ceiling so that was a huge improvement over old set.

This is the first tv I bought myself, I wanted 4k with HDR. Smart tv wasn't something I wasn't looking for but I absolutely glad i got it. I got it on black Friday, nd the price was great for everything the tv comes with. The picture is amazing nd it has motion flow, easy to control. If your like me and need tv to sleep this has a timer so it shuts off and not stay on all night.

    Best 4K Budget-Starter for TV/PC Gaming!!!

Negatives: the ECO sensor that minimizes the brightness automatically but can be disabled, the bolts from my tv mount from my previous tv wouldn't fit entirely so I used custom Automotive bolts I found fit, and if your using it as a PC monitor for streaming 4K videos online then it will NOT LOOK TRUE 4K PC unless your using a 4K ready device. Pros: Gaming will serve you very well and I love playing Fallout 4, 1st Person Shooters, and racing games in 4K if you have a high-performance graphics card. The 120 motion rate (Hz) makes motion really smooth yet though you will have some screen tearing in PC gaming and in gaming consoles as well but not enough to ruin the game or even notice unless you try to. Summary: This is a huge upgrade from a LCD 720p 60Hz. The TV is slim and bezels are thin. Quality is great for a budget 4K monitor. PC monitor can look great and HD viewing. Im glad I bought this TV even though I have to have time to tune it but im sure most TVs are like that anyway. Recommend: Get a HDMI Premium Certified cable to get the best quality from both sources. (Im glad I thought of this before using a regular HDMI cable instead). Also look up custom configurations from youtube people made using the same tv to get the color right and spend lots of time in the menus tuning in order to get the best from this TV.

Bought this after lots of research; our space only allowed for 40" and this fit exactly. But I'm glad I went with the 4K capable model rather than the cheaper HD. On streaming signals, like Amazon, the picture is just amazing. The only criticism is the remote; needs to be backlit and lack of compatibility with my FIOS cable box (IR) means I'm in the market for a universal remote.

I bought this TV right before the Thanksgiving holidays because my old TV (also a Samsung) decided it was time to go to that big TV box in the sky. It lasted me about 10 years though so no complaints. I bought another Samsung because of my great experience with my former TV. This one has a great picture and you can't beat the price right now! I am enjoying the 4K Ultra HD picture!

    Fantastic 4K PC Monitor

We purchased this for use as a 4K PC monitor and loved it so much that we purchased another one the following night for our other PC. It's 40" wide (diagonally,) displays up to 3840x2160, and has HDR. Just note that, for PC gaming, you'll want to set the HDMI port to "PC" mode to avoid any input lag and you'll need to manually enable HDR color, too. I initially ran it in RGB mode, but there was a bit of black crush while gaming (desktop looked amazing, though) so I stepped it back to YCbCr420 at 12 bpc color. Otherwise, it's a great display for the price - significantly large than the average 27" monitor, significantly cheaper than a PC monitor of equivalent size/resolution, it supports 60 Hz without input lag (PC mode,) and it looks really good. If there is a complaint about using it as a monitor, it's that the TV will not default to the "PC" mode so this has been turned on each time you turn on your PC, if you don't leave it on constantly (this has no bearing on sleep mode.) Please note that we are using it as a PC monitor only; I couldn't speak as to how good it works as a Smart TV and we are only using HDMI 1 (other online review indicated that only input 1 supported 60Hz 4K.)
