It appears the quality of their products has declined as I have read others having similar issues. It's a shame one would have to purchase an extended warranty from a 3rd party company because the manufacturer (Samsung) doesn't stand by their product to last over 1 year.

Horrible

Remote control doesn't have numbers on it. Unable to change the clock time, doesn't auto change with day light saving, shows wrong time. By the time I figured this all out, wasn't able to return it bc only had 5 days to figure it out but it takes longer than 5 days, bad policy Best buy.

cracked screen

don't use google tv;samsung os tv is NOT GOOD

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This 40 inch 4K tv offers a surprisingly nice, even, and colorful picture. Movement on screen is smooth, and the black levels are deep. This will make a good bedroom tv. The Smart Hub and interface is definitely inspired (copied cough cough) by the New Apple TV, and that isn't a bad thing. The smart hub is easy to navigate along with all of the Tv's options. If you are using this tv in conjunction with a newer apple tv (like I am) you really get a clean, user friendly, and quick experience all around. The 4k images is great, and supports Netflix HDR, and Youtube 4k videos right out of the box. The HDMI ports senses what item is plugged in and automatic pulls a logo for that product, and if supported, allows you to use the TV remote for that device as well. The remotes, is small, comfortable, and easy to use. Overall, this is a great bedroom/spare room tv. The smart hub for the 2016 Samsung TVs is so fast and easy to use, and the picture quality is outstanding.

Great Tv....but

Yep no remote no stand nothing so i call customer service and they order me all the parts so i was excited to get the parts... they sent me every accesory seperate and tonight i got the stand and there was no legs!!! Who sends a base with no legs... i thoughr best buy would fix this mistake but they didnt for me... do not buy open box unless you want every accesory sent seperately learn from me... hopefully best buy sends me my legs then ill give this awesome product a five star

I was on a budget, yet needed a new TV and decided to make the jump to 4K. Though there isn't exactly a lot of 4K material available, technology is heading that way. Plus, this TV upscales anyways so you'll always be getting the best picture that you can get whether it's 4K or not. If you're looking for some 4K material to watch, your best bet as of this date is YouTube and Netflix. Both offer 4K material and since this TV is a Smart TV, it's easy to access directly from the TV! And it's fast! You don't need a Game console, or a chrome/firestick to watch netflix anymore. It's all installed on the TV right out of the box. The picture is fantastic! Wrinkles on people's faces become visible, and tiny details like hair or scales on animals look stunning. Also, the Motion Rate keeps things looking smooth with movement. Most of what I use this TV for is for watching movies on Blu-Ray, Netflix, YouTube, and Gaming on a PlayStation 4 (not Pro, just the standard). Blu-Ray movies look vibrant and crisp as they should. Streaming services (Netflix, and YouTube) also look fantastic. 4K material looks gorgeous, and 1080p material looks even better since the TV upscales the picture as best as it can. Gaming on Playstation 4 is also fantastic! Though it's not actually 4K since I am not utilizing a PS4 Pro or Xbox One S, the picture is still improved further. I will add however that if you play games on a higher sensitivity (i.e. 7 or higher), you're going to want to lower it some to cut down on some motion blur. I'd say lower it at least down to 5 personally. The TV does offer a Game Mode picture setting that you can use, however to me it looks as if it lowers the frame rate down significantly to the point in which I think it's annoying. The picture looks the same, just movements look jarry as like with a lower frame rate. Just lower your sensitivity and the TV will handle the picture much better and you won't need Game Mode. If you don't play video games, you'll most likely never use this setting and therefore can disregard the above couple of statements about it. On to sound! The speakers that come with the TV are surprisingly great! With my previous TV, I used a set of computer speakers with a subwoofer hooked up through an audio jack and they were great. However, this TV honestly doesn't need any of that. It also doesn't have an audio jack so I couldn't even use the speakers if I wanted to. Try and set up the TV in an area of the room where there is a corner wall or on top of a dresser or entertainment center that has hollow components to it if you can. Corners will cause all of the sound to bounce off of the walls behind it and head directly towards you, while hollow stuff helps improve bass. A point to consider when looking at TV's is to get a rough estimate of how far away you sit from your current TV, and then stand that far away while looking at a new TV in store. That will give you a more accurate idea of how it will look at home. Also, the TV will always seem bigger in your home than it does in the store. The sheer size of the store and different sized TV's next to the one you're looking at can make it seem smaller than it really is. I recommend taking some measurements to figure out how big of a TV you want in the room. The Remote is extremely minimalistic, which is fantastic. No need for 60 buttons on a remote when you'll realistically only ever use maybe 10. I've had the TV for 2 days and it's easy enough to use just by feel and without looking at it. Just so you know, the remote has 13 buttons on it. Lastly the TV also offers a mirroring capability which is not mentioned in the description. If you're unfamiliar with what mirroring is, it's basically being able to take what you're watching on a smartphone, computer or tablet, and then display it on your TV wirelessly rather than your device. So if you use something like an Apple TV to watch Netflix/Hulu etc.. you can sell it because you won't need it to watch videos on anymore. Now if you want to display games or other things on the TV from your phone like you can with an Apple TV then keep it because it won't do that, just videos/movies. Overall, I am extremely happy with the TV and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a TV this size.

Should be called a Dumb TV

Basically, if you are going to buy a smart TV then make sure it uses Android OS. The Smart TV part basically has Netflix, Youtube, and Hulu plus. Very difficult to use anything else or especially add anything else to it. Cant even go into the setup menu as it is greyed out. For $40 more you can get an Amazon fire stick and get most of the functionality back, but I have heard there are even issues with that. Gaming will still be an issue though. Also, the remote is infantile. The TV itself works well and has a good picture and sound and more content is coming out in 4K so that is a plus. If all you are looking for is a 4K TV then this is pretty good. I would not recommend overall though.
