    WOW! So far so good!

Picked up this TV today because I needed a smaller TV for my Home Office and wanted it to be 4K. I don't have everything setup properly yet, but so far the 4k Youtube videos are blowing my mind. Its that good. Loving the remote and interface too. So far using the built in APPS has been great - no slowdown like I've seen in past TV's. I took a shot in the dark on this because I have not seen ANY reviews for these new 2016 TV's yet. So far this one seem to be a winner. PS....Also works great with my PS4.

I was looking for a TV to put in a bedroom. Since the 2016 models were coming out with HDR and HDCP 2.2 ports I looked into this model. For the price the TV performs exceptionally well. The image quality for the price point is really good. The 4k media looks amazing on this unit. It has decent black levels for the type of panel it is. And the built in speakers are really good. Not sound bar quality good, but pretty good if you were looking to use it as is. My only complaint is the built in Smart TV. It has a small amount of apps which includes Amazon Video, Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, HBO, and etc. But it does not have other major apps like Vudu, NBA, or MLB. Also the remote takes some getting use to as it's very limited. But most people have universal remotes. Overall, this is a great TV for someone looking to get into 4K with HDR at a budget. You really can't go wrong with this unit, Samsung pulled it off!

    Great 40" 4K TV

I purchased this and an xbox one S together a couple months ago from best buy primarily for gaming - used the free shipping and received everything quick. I had the xbox one S going through an hdmi switch box and it would not enable 4k video mode so I had to hook it direct to TV and then got 4K. Once that was done the video quality is stunning. The remote has only a few buttons and circular control pad - I was disappointed by it at first - where are all the buttons? But once I got used to it I absolutely love the remote. With cable box, xbox, etc. as your video sources you don't need the clutter of tons of buttons you will never use. OMG - what an improvement over other remotes. The remote also controls the xbox one s (not in games, but in apps and its menu) by default which is nice so if I play netflix and other video apps or just do things in the xbox menu I only need the samsung remote. The volume and channel up-down use only one button each and are toggle switches - push forward for up, pull back for down, push down for mute. The smart TV features are nice and work really well. Even non 4k content looks better IMO - PS3, Xbox, Blu-Rays, etc. - I think it's upscaled by the TV. One complaint a friend of mine had was that the 4k image is so realistic looking it made some special effects actually look a bit fake when watching 4k blu-ray movie. I thought they looked absolutely awesome myself. Based on this - my next TV for the living room will be a Samsung 4k as well - a bigger one of course.

    Excellent TV for the money.

This is a good TV. Not a great TV. It is best in class (according to rting.com) for 50" and below. You would need to spend a lot more money to get a great TV, and at 40" there just aren't any great ones. In fact, most experts will tell you that 4K at 40" is a complete waste of money. I would agree. Having said that, this is a really good unit. The physical appearance of this unit is wonderful. Very well put together. Light as a feather. I basically have no complaints currently with this unit. Time will tell (and I'll amend my review if need be). Plenty of connections. Picture and sound were both better than expected, even though the reviews of this TV were spot on by the experts. I would not hesitate to recommend this TV. It's so popular Amazon doesn't even have any to sell. As of 8/9/16 they were on backorder. One piece of advice though. If you don't know how to calibrate a TV, I might have Geek Squad do it for you. Out of the box, it needs some tweaking to truly shine. There are plenty of resources online (including rting.com) that tell you exactly what to do, and how to do it. In closing, I've seen more than I should of misrepresentation of this TV. If you bought this thinking it's going to rival a $2000.00 TV in any way shape or form, you've made a mistake. If you're looking for the best 4K TV money can buy (under 50") you found it. I've also seen it said that you can't get Amazon video. Rubbish. It was preinstalled on mine. All in all, highly recommended.

This TV has a super good picture. For the people who complained about the motion blur, set the picture mode to game mode and there will be no motion blur. For those who complained about the remote, Insignia has a remote made just for Samsung that has all the buttons like the old Samsung remotes. I know that you should not have to pay more for a remote but it does solve the problem! It's a great TV all around. Would recommend it.

Purchased the 40 inch KU6300, and It has a beautiful picture. The smart remote takes a little getting use to but, I am using my cable remote for the TV and use the smart remote for all other tv functions. The smart apps are great, and love the full web browser. It would be easier with a wireless mouse when using the web browser . So far, so good. I wish I would of purchased this sooner. You can set the tv up for automatic updates which I have done. Perfect for the bedroom. Loving it!!!!!

One could spend more money and probably get a better TV, but for the price point, I am very impressed with this set. I bought the 40" unit for my home office where it is used primarily for viewing cable programming. It is connected to the internet, so will be using those features as well. The picture quality is generally very good, I need to tweak the settings a bit the lighting in my room. Some programming has a bit of motion blur, but not too bad under most circumstances. Sound from the built-in speakers is good in a small room - would use external speakers if I wanted high quality sound, though... All in all, I believe it is a very good value, with a nice balance of features vs price.

I think it's a great tv. The picture is clear and it's somewhat user friendly. I just don't like sometimes having to use two remotes. The cable remote does not work with the tv and although the tv remote controls the cable, it's sometimes hard using it.

This is an excellent UHD TV. We were debating on if it was worth it to get the UHD TV, or just the 1080P version, and we are very glad we spent the extra $100 for UHD. Watching original seasons for The Office on this TV is amazing compared to my older flat screen TV. The upconversion to UHD is amazing, and the show is significantly more clear. We don't have the TV in a huge room, but the built in speakers are more than adequate for our use. We are extremely happy with this TV! The setup is very easy. The TV walks you through the entire process of connecting to the internet and all. The user interface takes a little getting used to, but overall I consider it very user friendly.

Excellent HD 4K 120 Motion TV

I bought one of these for my Daughter, I live in Dacula, GA and she lives in New Jersey... BestBuy made it easy for her to pick it up at her local store. A HUGE plus for us.. I have a had a 40 in Samsung HD TV 120 motion Since 2009 and have never had a problem or complaint... I have kept the firmware up to date and I have the TV, DVR, Comcast Box and Wireless router on a 540 WATT UPS ... This one additional item has kept all the components safe. Now for the UN40KU6300FXZA... It is better than the 6290FXA due to ports, audio and other features. So it is well worth the price... Bottom line: I have a Samsung and will have another when I need one and this model is just really competent choice. So I will keep it simple and stay in this size and model for it has all the features one would need. Getting larger than 40 or 48 inches is hard to imagine unless you have more than 30 feet between you and the TV. So this is a good deal at an excellent price... Highly recommended.

Annoying Remote. Awkward Setup for PC use.

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

For starters, I'm not using this TV for typical TV use. I'm using it as my PC monitor and for PC gaming. They don't really make PC monitors around this size, so I bought this. Anyway, I had some difficulty setting up the TV. It kept asking me for a Zipcode, but would keep saying Invalid. It took me a few minutes just to figure out that pushing the right arrow on the remote would let me skip that part. Once I got through that zipcode fiasco, I was able hook my PC with an HDMI 2.0 cable, but I noticed that my mouse was moving extremely slow. I looked into the PC's settings and found that the refresh rate was set to 30Hz. I also noticed some flickering color here and there. So, I tried to raise it to the 60Hz it should have been, but when I did that, the whole screen went completely pink and the image on the screen got distorted. It took me another several minutes before I decided to look into the TV's settings. Turns out I had to go in and turn on HDMI UHD Color just so I can get the 60Hz I needed. Once that setting was on, everything worked as it should. No pink screen and no flickering colors. If I haven't found that HDMI UHD Color setting, I might have thrown this thing out the window. The remote itself was weird use. There is no Source Button, so you have to click on the Home Button to open up a menu to fish for it. Because I don't use the TV for Cable TV, I can't really comment on channel usage, but I would imagine it would be awkward to select specific channels, because there are no number buttons. Besides all that negativity, the TV works great once everything is set up. Words are no longer pixelated. Everything looks softer and smooth. If you plan on using this TV for 4K gaming at full screen, I recommend buying a really good video card. I tried trying Arkham Knight, and the FPS averaged around 35 to 40FPS. When I had a 1080P tv, it was stable at 60FPS. My current video card is an EVGA GTX 980 Ti. The newer GTX 1000 series should be able to handle it better, but I recommend waiting until next year when they release another new and more powerful video card. When I watch movies, it's really good. I'm surprised that a 1080p movie can look pretty good even while stretched out to fill a 4K resolution screen.

I bought this as a monitor to help me manage a bunch of servers in my lab environment. It is absolutely amazing! I'm using a Zotac GTX 960 graphics card and am getting full 4k at 60hz and chroma 4:4:4. The text is crisp and 4k video content is awesome.

    Great Quality from Samsung

its a great tv but i still think Sony has better picture quality as far as accurate colors go. from my years of experience with Sony, Samsung and LG, Samsung has a much better Realism effect in the industry overall its a very good 4k tv the sound is great for on board speakers Both Samsung and LG are good at Tv Speakers but if your willing to pay $300 more for precise accurate colors and a better motion rate go with the Sony (3" bigger) for $649 (sony lacks in the realism effects) Bottom Line this Samsung Model is the best bang for the buck

Best gaming/media TV on the market for the price

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Picked this up for my office/gaming/media nerd cave over the weekend after also grabbing the new xbox one s (4k HDR capable), and it blew my expectations away. While most content and console games aren't obviously 4K as of yet, this TV still up-scales and renders images to a resolution that blows any 1080 TV out of the water. It also does the same with it's 8bit HDR (not HDR+ 10bit, sadly). The game mode setting also reduces input lag dramatically-- you'll feel like you were playing in suspended slow motion previously by comparison-- the difference is staggering. Streamed content also looks great (haven't ran any blu rays as of yet) up-scaled in the same way above and beyond 1080. This is really the most noticeable with older movies; I threw on the princess bride via netflix for my niece the other day, and it looked like it was shot on a go pro haha. (you can also obviously use and tweak the presets to suit whichever type of feel in the resolution you're looking for) Navigation is also streamlined to be extremely user friendly, and you can tweak settings easily--the sleek, limited button remote has also grown on me the last few days . For $399.99, this felt like larceny on my part! 40" is perfect IMO for gaming as well as general media viewing in a bedroom/office (especially wall mounted), and this TV has to be the overall best for the price at this size.

Nice TV for the dorm room. Samsung has improved their interface on the unit from their previous generations. The remote reminds me of an apple TV controller (minimal # of buttons), which could be bad or good depending on your taste. Furthermore the colors are very vibrant as is every other Samsung unit. If you are into color accuracy you'll need to balance it out.

This TV is fantastic, and at the price at only $413 it was by far the best bang for your buck in the store. The color and clarity of this tv is unparalleled when compared to other tv's in the same price range. Oh yeah I should mention this is truly a "smart" tv....none of the casting stuff of other competitors. I really have nothing bad to say about this tv, I love it's features and ease of use. Set up was great and I love the simplicity of the remote and its ability to control my cable boxes functions. I think that really about says it all and I want folks to know that I'm not typically one to leave reviews, especially if I'm just confirming that an item works as it was promised to. But that's just not the case with this 4k tv. It really does beat expectations by a ton right outta the box. Seriously stop debating and get one!!
