    Backlight bleeding issue.

    Overall this tv looked great. But at night I noticed that mainly the left side had some lighter spots to it. I can’t put up with it. If this is normal for anything that doesn’t have OLED to have some backlight bleeding or screen clouding, I don’t even want a new tv anymore. I’ve heard this is very common. Is that true? I asked to ship it back. But I really wanted a new 4K tv. Does the Samsung Q60 do this too? I’m so disappointed that I have to return it. If I can get another Samsung TU8000 without the light bleeding I will gladly take that.

    I tend to buy Samsung TVs because they never disappoint. The only complaint I have about this one is that the mount has to be attached towards the top of the back, and not in the center. As this replaced an older Samsung TV, the outlets installed behind the original TV for the wires can now be seen.

    Geek squad came and set up. Did a nice job. Cleaned up after job was done. Followed all virus safety protocols. Explained features, set up remotes, etc. Had to buy a new soundbar due to its age. Scheduling took a little longer than I expected, but was in no particular hurry. So far, so good.

    We had a Panasonic flat screen for over a decade but after a recent lightning storm, that hit very close to our home, we lost our beloved Panasonic. I read the reviews of this Samsung and knew this was going to be our new television. We are very happy with everything about it.

    It's a fine TV. It's a poor choice for using with a computer. It's possible to get it to configure for use on a 4K output from a TV as a monitor, but doesn't have the right settings to provide a proper output for brightness and contrast that maintains color fidelity. It's OK, but there are better TV's out there and this one misses the mark. The biggest issue is falloff, the corners and sides are conspicuously darker than the center. Probably not noticeable as a TV, but glaringly bad as a monitor.

    I love Samsung and this TV. The only thing that is preventing a 5 Star review is not being able to Cast easily to the TV. I have a Samsung phone and can't directly Cast to it but my wife's IPhone can?

    This Series of 43 Inch Samsung is a bust!

    I bought this Series 8 and set it up to find out it had BIG RED dots across the screen. Returned it and bought the exact model through Amazon only to have that one arrive cracked down the middle. Returned that one to Amazon for a replacement of the same model. When the replacement arrived it had the same BIG RED dots across the screen at a higher level. Returned that one to Amazon for refund. I ultimately went back to BEST BUY and purchased the SERIES 7 43 inch. The series 7 had no issues and looks great. I don't know if the whole run of Series 8 samsung 43s are bad but I was tired of returning defective tvs at that point.

    My first samsung tv I bought it's not as bright and for some reason it shows three lines not happy

      Danny:

      Thank you for purchasing the Samsung TU8000 and for your review. I am very sorry you are viewing scenes that appear too dark. A firmware update was released which may improve your picture.

      Using your TV's remote, navigate to Settings, and select Support. Select Software Update, and then select Update Now. New updates will be downloaded and installed on your TV. Updates usually take a few minutes; please do not turn off the TV until the update is complete. When the update is finished, the TV will restart automatically. If it does not, you may need to manually reboot your TV after the update by either unplugging the AC cord or by pressing and holding the power button on the remote until the TV powers off and back on.

      You may want to enable automatic updates for convenience. Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update.

      To troubleshoot the line your are seeing, you may want to try the following steps:

      1) Check the antenna and input cable connections

      2) Check the antenna and HDMI cable connections

      3) If the issue persists, define exactly what is wrong with the display. For example, mosaics and blocks, multiple lines or white dots, fixed horizontal, or vertical lines

      4) Try changing channels using the remote control. Is the issue the same on all channels?

      5) Press the Home button (looks like a house), select Source, choose another input source. Is the issue the same on all sources?

      6) If the same problem persists, run a diagnostic test. (Home > Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test)

      7) If the problem disappears during the test, check your TV signal
      (Home > Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information) to check the signal strength. Signal strength must be more than 20 dB (more than 4 bars on the icon) for stable signal reception

    Don’t buy if using WiFi connection

    Connectivity issues. WiFi will not stay connected. My router is in next room television sees it with strong signal. But will not stay connected. Samsung customer support attempted to trouble shoot. Didn’t work. Now geek squad will try.

      You may want to go through these steps to check your network connection:

      1) Check the distance between the TV and your modem or access point. The distance should not exceed 50 ft. (15.2 m).

      2) Minimize interference by not using or turning off wireless devices. Also, verify that there are no obstacles between the TV and the modem or access point. (WiFi strength can be decreased by appliances, cordless phones, stone walls/fireplaces, etc.)

      3) Perform a network test to check if there is a network problem.

      Press the Home button on your remote. Navigate to Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis> Smart Hub Connection Test

      4) Try a cold reboot of your TV by pressing and holding the power button for 5+ seconds until the TV turns off and on again.

      5) Please also be sure you have the latest firmware update. You may want to enable automatic updates for convenience. Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update.

    make sure you measure your TV when you receive this. opened my box and it was only 38 inches, exact same model number: very sketchy, i’m annoyed that i have to order a replacement and nervous of the source and authenticity at this point. don’t think i’ll be ordering TVs from best buy again
