You just can’t beat the price, quality, and picture. This is my bedroom TV, and really the only minor issue is the sleep timer is a bit convoluted to get to. Minor given all the other positives!!

smart tv not smart choice if you are dumb like me

I am knocking 2 stars off because the remote control and the operating system of the tv are always driving me crazy. Stuff pops up on the screen because I inadvertently hit something. I fight at least once a day to get back to the tv display. I resent having a remote having few buttons yet two are dedicated to netflix and prime video. Same thing with the home screen. Prominent in the menu choices are things I do not want. I wish the tv would present itself as a tv and all the "smart" stuff be buried in lower level menus and not be so prominent. If I could find an equivalent tv for picture and price, I would buy the other one for a more obvious and more "old time" control feeling. (Also the picture is not super sharp).

We appreciate your review of the Samsung AU8000 and your feedback on the remote control and operating system.
To assist you in learning the various features, functions, and settings of the TV and Remote, you can download the User Manual and Remote Guide directly from Samsung’s website under ‘Support’ (top right corner) > Manuals & Software > TVs & Home Theater. From there, you can select the AU8000 under Crystal UHD TVs > A Model Lineup.
To update your picture settings you can Go to Home > Settings > Picture > Picture Mode and select the mode that best fits your usage:
1) Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments.
2) Natural: Reduces eye strain for a comfortable viewing experience.
3) Movie: Is suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room.
4) Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments.
5) Filmmaker Mode: You can watch the source content (e.g., movie) as it is. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it will automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.
You can also go to Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > to manually fine-tune your image.

It was easy to set up, easy to use and is a great addition to my home office. I can stream content from my PC to the TV and watch a variety of HD content. Color, performance and overall quality is outstanding.

Its working really well. The picture is clear, and it was very easy to setup. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that I dont care for the remote control. I havent been able to figure out how to expand the description for shows.

We were very hesitant about switching brands but we are SO glad we did. This TV is beautiful, the interface is sleek, so easy to use, and includes so many more helpful apps and features. The graphics are gorgeous and the free tv channels Samsung provides are tiers ahead of Ruko's and Amazon's. Because of how nice this TV is, there is no doubt in my mind that when any of my other TVs die out, Samsung will be what I purchase from now on. I currently own an LG TV, Ruko TV, and another Amazon Fire TV, this newest Samsung is by far the golden child on them all. I cannot recommend this TV enough.
