    I finally decided to discard my 20 year-old tube TV. Though it was 32" it weighed a TON! Literally took two strong men to pick it up and move it. My new Samsung Smart HDTV is a 43" Diag, backlit LED with 1080p. Great "open box" price at $303 (regularly $429) . CAUTION: First time I'd ordered an 'open box' item. When it arrived it was completely open at one end -- don't know if that was the way it shipped or if it happened in transit. I was skeptical but everything was in the box (except a few screws) and in good shape. (If you buy an "open box" item, I suggest you examine it immediately and if there are any problems contact Best Buy immediately.). This issue dropped a star in my rating -- I expected a re-packed box, but not an actually OPEN one (grinning). I only shopped online -- hadn't really seen any "smart HDTV's" in person -- so I was a bit shocked at the panoramic rectangular shape ... Though 43" diagonally, it is about 22" x 38"... smaller than my old squarer tube TV. But beautiful picture and great sound. And it weighs less than 20 lbs!!!! Love the slim look of the flat screen. Am a bit hard of hearing so love the digital sound control/quality ...I often had a hard time hearing my old TV with its limited max volume. Nice remote but I programmed it to work with my universal remote and use that instead. Keeping the Samsung remote to use when/if I misplace the other one. It came with a stand -- which looked 'elegant' but it holds the TV nicely with just 2 screws...rest of them were missing. Stand makes the depth 9". It can be mounted to the wall. Its smart capabilities include: App store, Music player, Photos, Video player, Web browser (full) but I haven't used them yet. The color is rich and the picture is crisp. And I've mostly watched non-HD stuff so far... Love the closed captioning...especially when I'm watching British TV shows... Has Wi-Fi and ready for Netflix, YouTube, Amazon, etc. You can set up to 3 sleep timers. Has optical audio output capability. Can screen mirror some/all? Mobile devices. Watch video from an external device such as a Blu-ray player on the main screen while viewing a TV broadcast in a picture-in-picture (PIP) window... Can change the size of the image displayed on the screen. There are settings for -- preventing screen burn, energy saving options, smart security features (i.e. to prevent hacking) -- creating a block list, etc.., puttinglocks on the front panel buttons, Remote online support is available, too (if hooked to the internet). I am very happy with this purchase and with the speedy delivery. Think this would make a great kid's room or college dorm TV though mine is my primary TV and in my living room. It has a headphone jack for private listening and can be attached to an external sound bar. .

    Picture quality terrible! Slow software

    I have always been a fan of Samsung TVs, at least until I bought this TV yesterday. I purchased this to replace an older TV. When I got it home and set it up, the picture quality was AWFUL. I thought maybe eco settings were turned on, but I played around with all the settings and nothing helped. The picture looks pixelated, almost as if it is zoomed in. It's really bad, even for digital content. My 10+ year old TV has a better picture than this Samsung. My dad repaired TVs his whole life, and he could do nothing with the settings to improve the picture quality, so I will be returning this TV tonight. Further, it took FOREVER for the software to initialize when the TV was turned on. It seemed glitchy as well, with apps like Netflix and Plex freezing at random and kicking out. The wifi signal was good, and the navigation was brilliant; I just wish the picture and software had been half as good as those features. I bought another Sony from Best Buy since the last Sony I purchased had a perfect, crisp picture right out of the box - worth double the price I paid for this one. I urge you not to buy this TV unless you don't care about picture quality at all. This TV simply isn't worth the pricetag for poor picture quality, bad backlight, and slow software.

    Good Price, Poor Quality

    Price was right on. After reading so many good reviews, I figured this TV would be a good choice. I was wrong. We purchased this TV to replace our 43 inch plasma. The plasma, although about 5 years old, had twice the picture of this new TV. I worked for nearly an hour trying every configuration with the tint, backlight, contrast, sharpness, etc...and this TV cannot get a clear picture. Everything looks hazy. Digital content looks poor. Hey TV manufacturers: Here's an idea. Your make a TV. At the minimum, you should be able to produce a quality picture. If you can't complete that simple task (after all, it is 2018), then stop spending money and time with installations of apps, processors, etc. You're wasting my time, my money...as well as yours. And then the customer service at Best Buy? Top notch uselessness. Most of the Best Buy staff was busy walking around and talking with each other. When I ask one of the sales guys about comparing two different TVs, his reply is "it's whatever you like." Nice. And don't even try to talk details and schematics! It's time to take this TV back.

    Default configuration was a bit on the dim side, but finding the adjustment to reduce dimming wasn't that hard to find - once a minor change was made to this, the display appears natural and has good color fidelity. We use this television mostly for a monitor with DVD and VHS players, as we have no reception or cable where we are located. Hence I can't comment on reception with the tuner. Smart networking connection went well with our router, but we lack bandwidth necessary for streaming videos. NOTE that the USB port will recognize a mouse but not a keyboard, and using a mouse makes setup much easier. Setup has a on-screen keyboard displayed that you can manipulate with the mouse MUCH easier than with the remote.

    I would have loved to give this TV 5 stars but I had to deduct one star for the quality of the audio. It has a rather metallic tin like sound, it sitting on a glass TV stand may have been a contributing factor, but I don't know. I think it's actually because the speakers are on the bottom side of the TV. I remedied it by hooking up my stereo speakers and bypassing the TV speakers so now the sound is spot-on. I use an HD antenna (I'm one of those cable cutters) and the Smart TV picks up way more channels and clearer channels then did my older television. That's a huge plus. The price was good. Very easy to set up. The picture is quite good. All in all I'm very pleased with this purchase.

    I had this TV for three weeks. The online features stopped working. I worked with Samsung service online. They very quickly agreed there was something wrong with the internet components. They wanted me to send it to Florida (from Milwaukee) to get fixed. It was going to take several weeks. Decided to return to Best Buy, let them send it back. Ended up buying something else. Separately, it was easy to get up and running. However, the online menus are clumsy, I only watch online content, and getting to the Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon features are more clumsy than they need to be.

    I have bought no tv brand but Samsung since the late 90’s - the quality of the picture is fantastic. The customer service from Best Buy for the one warranty claim I had on a 55” unit was IMMEDIATE response & resolution. I have compared Samsung to others - Sony, LG, Vizio, etc. - and have found none that would draw me away from Samsung. Every Samsung HD tv, regardless of screen size, has always made me feel that I was right in the middle of the on-screen action. I HIGHLY recommend Samsung HD tv to anyone seeking a fantastic picture from a great brand.

    I originally purchased a Vizio D series tv and after 2 days I returned it for this Samsung. Which was the best decision ever. This tv was great right out of the box. I didn't even have to adjust the picture and the sound is pretty decent has well. The only downside I see to this tv is the smart features. It seems a little basic and outdated. So in conclusion if you're just looking for a basic 1080p tv with great picture and sound then you can't go wrong with this Samsung! However if your looking for a tv that has all the most recent apps and smart features then you might want to look elsewhere.

    We bought this additional TV mainly so we did not have to pay the monthly Spectrum charge to view their services, since you can view their services through the Samsung SmartTV. So the clarity is amazing, lightweight, great price, use of the apps is great as well since we really were not streamers before the purchase. I really enjoy the TV functionality and it was a great purchase for the price. I might as well save my $7 month and it eventually will pay for the TV and will last longer as well. :-)

    Replaced my 14 month old broken down Sharp Roku TV for a Samsung Smart TV that I bought during Black Friday. The Samsung TV is amazing! Hooking it up was a breeze; it connected itself to my Direct TV. I feel confident I will get more than 13 months usage with the Samsung. On a different note: when buying a new TV, GET THE EXTENDED WARRANTY in the event of it breaking down AFTER the manufacture's 1 yr warranty. I got 3 yrs on my Samsung but it's such a great tv, I don't think I'll need to use it :)

    Purchased TV black Friday weekend online for in-store pickup. Setup with channel search was quick. Totally, amazed on the picture color sharpness and ability to adjust to preference.Sound quality surprised me with small speakers compared to old TV with larger speakers. Had 27" tube flat screen for about 9 yrs finally decided to quit working. Bought one of the last 27" flat screen tube TV's when flat screens phased out old tube style televisions. It took a couple days getting used to change from flat tube to flat screen HD.

    Very happy with this TV - great picture, sound, color and clarity. Samsung makes a good product. We're not "techie" at all so had Geek Squad disconnect/dispose of old TV (which was an 11 year old Samsung HD) and connect and adjust the new one -- they were AWESOME! Went back and got the soundbar that I was interested in and hooked it up as well. Could not be happier with the TV and Geek Squad - I will always use them. Was able to order and schedule everything on-line - entire experience was great!

    I have had 3 Samsung TVs (2 @ 27" and 1 @ 60", oh and my mother-in-law has a 60" also). They have great picture quality. This one though is awful. At least once per night it turns itself off and back on. I looked on-line and this is a recurrent problem with many Samsung Smart TVs. Some people say to change the capacitors and the motherboard - they show youtube videos of how to do it. I'm going to toss this TV out and buy another brand.

    I have nothing bad to say about this Samsung TV except for the "legs" on the item. While the flatscreen TV is light, the legs that support still seem to be slightly inadequate. At first I was scared my cat would jump up on the sideboard (large and heavy, not rickety) and tip the flatscreen over and off. Picture beautiful, sound sufficient once you decide on which one to use. Menu and controls easy to use even for a senior.

    My 12 year old Samsung TV died and after researching the new TVs I bought another Samsung, a Smart TV and I am very happy with it. The picture is sharp and clear, unlike others I looked at. Due to poor WIFI Internet connection because I live in a less populated area I had to buy a second router for it. However that is not the fault of the TV and most people won't have that problem. I am very satisfied with this TV.

    I purchased another brand of the same size and it broke within two days of use; it always was severely annoying in that it would say "Power On" and "Power Off" each time you clicked the power button. So I brought that brand back and got this Samsung instead for an addition $80. Totally worth it. Installed nicely and in a much more friendly way that the other brand, had a brighter, more vivid and crisp picture, and hasn't broken yet.

    This tv is great and has a good price. I also got it on sale during a weekend event so that was a plus! Good picture quality and sound as well. I did find the web browser difficult to use and it takes about a minute for you to actually be able to open an app. I got an Apple TV shortly after I purchased this tv and now that I do everything through it, I don’t have to deal with the wait time. Otherwise it’s a great tv!

    Good TV for the price. It’s voice recognition remote control works very well as does its compatibility with other components Allowing me to rely on just one remote control. It was excellent price for what it includes. However, the trade off in Price savings was the result of less options. The only option which I regret not including is the ability to attach a keyboard. Other than that have no complaints

    I ordered online and thought I had purchased a different tv than the one I got. The sound was not good and the picture was not as clear as my tv I was replacing. I have a hearing loss and the sound might work for people without hearing problems. I decided to buy a better quality (that I still purchased from Best Buy). The Newnan, GA store was very helpful in making the exchange for me. I am very pleased with my replacement and their service.
