Good TV for a Bedroom

We bought this TV even though we have bought only Sony TVs for years. We were upgrading a still good Sony 40" HD with a newer TV that was 4K (UHD) in the master bedroom. Was torn between this and the Sony XBR43X800H model. Figured we would try Samsung.
While the picture was very nice and bright, the colors vibrant, and had the bells-and-whistles that a modern 4K offers, I was a little disappointed in this TV. I knew that the viewing angle was not as good as a TV with an IPS (In-Plane Switching) display like the Sony 800H has. Since this was going in a bedroom, we watch from three different viewing angles and view angle is important. Did not want to have to keep turning the TV to different view angles. You can definitely notice a quick drop in contrast in the black color when viewing off of dead-on center. Blacks were not as dark and contrast dropped a bit. Not a huge amount, but still enough to not enjoy the best picture possible.
Black level is important to me, but sometimes Samsung plays up their contrast and black level benefits too much. They do have a good, deep black. In real life, there is often ambient light bouncing around to where black colors are not totally black. Sony, IMO, offers a bit more realistic scene with a good black level (life isn't really all mega-vibrant colors like the TVs on display show customers!!). And if you adjust settings on the Sony, you can get a pretty deep black to where you start to actually lose detail in the black areas. Just like Samsung.
The audio was not very good. We have a large home theater projector and a Sony 55" TV in the family room with external audio equipment and did not want a soundbar or 'large' sound for the bedroom. Since the design is a slim style like most flat panel TV's, you do not get very good bass and the overall audio is "tinny." Sounds like it is in a can. If you want good quality sound, then a soundbar/system is best.
Apps selection were good, although we have Dish Network and that has Netflix, Prime, and YouTube built in and no real need for us to use the TVs app selection.
Ultimately, we did return this due to a manufacturer defect in the back for the USB and LAN connectors and bought the Sony XBR43X800H. It offered a wider view angle and better TV speaker sound (although both would sound better with external audio equipment). The only drawback on the Sony is that they state their TVs have "Bluetooth," but they do NOT have Bluetooth audio for headphones and ear buds. Just keyboards and mice. Really?? Samsung's audio Bluetooth worked perfectly.

This is our 3rd Samsung and it’s by far the best! Our last one had some type of short and the bottom of the screen went black, this after several years of use. We didn’t hesitate to buy another Samsung. The setup is easy and intelligent and the free content along with our other streaming services makes this tv an incredible entertainment center. I’m only disappointed in the standard legs it came with, the design has changed so it doesn’t allow for swivel. We fixed this by getting a separate aftermarket stand, so now it’s perfect. Beautiful picture! Go for a sound bar too, it’s required for amazing audio!

Let me say first off, all my products are Samsung. After purchasing a 43" T,V. I then loved the picture with its easy set up mode. I liked the apps and Alexa capability. Soon after, I purchased a 55" T.V.. i liked the T.V. so much, I purchased another T.V. Samung products are awesome. I'm looking to replace my tv in my Den with a 85" purchasing my televisions were so easy with my online Bestbuy app

Bought this for my home office. Picture quality is good and I like the new Samsung remote included. Fairly easy set up. Paper thin size is nice. I probably should have bought a little bigger one, but this one is lightweight, easily moveable and comes with detachable legs.

A new Samsung replaces an older one

I purchased this new Samsung to replace an older one. The older TV had developed a bright spot on the screen. Otherwise, it continues to work perfectly.
This set was easy enough to setup. I will begin with the remote control. Gone are the replaceable batteries. The remote is rechargeable by either a USB-C cable (not included) or by exposing the photovoltaic cell on the back to the light.
I never much cared for universal remotes. This remote changed that. It lulls the user into setting-up all connected peripherals. Instead of requiring the user to search a only list of manufacturer codes, this remote guesses the code for each peripherals. It was usually successful within three attempts. I am tickled pink that the TV recognized my cable provider, Blu-ray player, and Apple TV.
I can't say that I like the fact that this remote has no numeric keypad. The times, they are a-changing. Having to scroll through channels is only a minor inconvenience.
Another minor inconvenience is the fact that this TV has no composite or component video inputs. It has three HDMI and two USB-2 ports. It also has a standard 75 ohm coaxial cable port and a TOSLINK digital optical audio port. The lack of composite video means that I cannot use my S-VHS VCR with this TV. However, I have not used the VCR for at least a decade. So, there is that.
I had just purchased a new Apple TV a few weeks before buying the new Samsung. I do not regret it, but some users might. Samsung appears to have lost support for a couple of lesser known streaming video sites that continue to support Apple TV, but most streaming services now support Samsung.
Strongly recommended.

You just can’t go wrong with Samsung! We have two smaller Vizios and love ‘em, but since I have Samsung phones and read some reviews, thought I’d give it a shot! Amazingly simple, just plug in out of the box and ready to go!
Remote is simple and easy to use, and I can cast anything I’m watching on my mobile devices (both android and iOS) to the tv. Once it’s connected to your WiFi you’re set, and it truly is that easy.
The colors and picture are amazing. Love my Vizios but my next tv will be another Samsung!

I had to replace my old spare room 35" Samsung, 6/7-ish years flat screen, as the displayed died, and it's not worth trying to fix most tv's these days. For the price it is a good deal, as it was the same price as a 35" I was looking at. Over all the Q60A's image, build, and initial set up quality is good. It quickly connected to comcast and other services fairly straight forward. For gaming I don't notice any appreciable lag, and the colors do look good.
Sound however is poor, and thinly. No matter the changes in settings really makes no difference. It stands out more so compared to my old tv. I did a lot of research in selecting a moderate price tv, and online reviews mentioned the sound was okay, but not great. Which is pretty standard these days as tv's get thinner, there is less room for speakers unless willing to pay way more. I would be okay not being thinner as long as sound wasn't compromised as much. I ended up getting a sound bar a couple weeks later. To it's credit, in the settings there are options to pass the sound from source and let the added sound system handle the processing.
The legs felt okay, but they do sit low in both positions. I opted to use a mount stand as I can turn the tv towards my desk and raises the tv a bit. Did have to end up placing the soundbar above the tv with another mount. This model doesn't have space below the tv with it's short legs, and even with a mount a soundbar blocks the remote sensor. It doesn't look great, to have the soundbar sticking out and over the tv, but it's in the spare room, so whatever.
I really like the solar/usb recharging aspect of the remote. I get a good amount of day light in the room, so I suspected charging wouldn't be an issue. It has 3 dedicated buttons for netflix, amazon, and samsung tv. However there is no button for switching to the other HDMI inputs. You have to navigate settings of the tv to change. Granted after a couple months I still haven't figured out what the 123/color dots button is suppose to do, so maybe thats it, the onboard manual doesn't explain what it's for. So I ended up relying on my comcast remote, as that has a source button to daisy thru my inputs easily, making the tv remote not needed. I also just noticed that my old samsung tv's remote source button works on this new one. Quick/tools menu as previous models were great for this.
Some may want to factor in, this tv doesn't play nice with HDMI hubs. Given two inputs were taken up by comcast and eARC soundbar, left one for all other devices. Switching sources it sometimes doesn't detect a device on the hub, it thinks it is off, and instead of waiting, throws up an error message. Depending on the device, I had to learn to wake from sleep mode, turn it on before, or turn on after, switching sources. Sometimes I forget and it's annoying. Then for some reason many times when starting them the resolution changes for a device, in which case I have to reboot it and start all over. I get the feeling the designers think all hdmi devices are on all the time. I might end up moving the soundbar to optical just to free up some of the hdmi input headache, but I shouldn't have to make such a choice. That's another thing, the soundbar shows up in the sources to switch to. I have to be careful to never select. There is no option to remove inputs from the daisy source selections, as this is all happening in the settings menus. The main menu does allow only what you want, but you need the use the home button and move over to that area. The smart things menu (third way to change inputs) has to navigated through the home button, so that isn't helpful. In this day and age where hubs and soundbars are common (necessary), these should have been thought about, and hopefully addressed in an update.
There is something called ambient mode, which is basically like the old computer screen savers but nicer. The brightness goes down, and the image will cycle through events. As the rainy room one, you hear rain and wind will move a book page a bit. Nice I guess, but it's the same event every few seconds instead of random. I think it was what was based for their new tv that acts like painting when not in use. Bit pointless as it doesn't start automatically like say a firestick screen savers. Again, it seems the designers thought this tv and attached devices should be left on all the time. Given the economy and rising energy prices, leaving something on 24/7 is not going to happen.
While there are some issues, overall I like the tv. Would give 3.5 stars if possible instead of 4. If all you need is a basic smart tv with netflix or amazon prime tv, then this works well.

I bought this TV for my home office and I like it a lot. It's very thin which gives it a nice-sleek design when mounted on the wall (recommended). With that being said, I'm actually pretty impressed with the sound output from the built-in-speakers which are more than sufficient for how I use my television.
The picture quality is great and colors are vibrant, as you'd expect from a QLED TV. I'm also a huge fan of the "PC on TV" feature, which comes in handy from time-to-time when I want to use my TV as an additional monitor when working.
And not to be outdone, the "Deal or No Deal" channel on the Samsung TV Plus app (channel 1143) is THE BEST.
The only gripes I have with this TV relate specifically to the "smart" hub/dock due to its functionality, usability, and interface:
(1) The "smart" hub, in general is very slow and laggy, which seems most likely attributable to all the excess stuff that's crammed into the "smart" hub, whether you like it or not. I have a 2018 Samsung TV and the smart hub/dock runs much, much smoother and launches on command. Compared to my 2018 Samsung TV, It's very frustrating and disappointing to experience issues like this on a much newer and more advanced television.
(2) The "smart" dock takes up half the screen by default unless you press the down arrow on the remote, and then it takes up the whole screen. There's also a huge advertisement right in the middle of the dock (classic Samsung) so that will always annoy me. There's also an obnoxious amount of built-in apps/icons on the "smart" dock as well and can't be removed. Beware: you may experience hand cramps while trying to navigate to the settings menu from the "smart" dock.
In conclusion, the TV is great; the smart hub is anything but "smart" and I would like to see a software update pushed out that provides a strengthened and more customized user experience for easier content discovery and better navigation.
I do recommend this TV.

I purchased this television for my bedroom after my old Sharp TV finally went out after thirteen years. I had someone from Geek Squad mount it as well. The process was easy and efficient. Tremendous picture. The sound quality is great for the bedroom, but I'd recommend a soundbar for a larger room. The TV is bright in a dark room especially. Remote is easy to use.
