Great TV after learning the remote settings

After seeing 4K TV's side by side in the store, I decided the Samsung QLED 43 inch has the best image quality for the physical space where my old TV was. It's $150 more than the low end 4K TV brands but newer technology is expected next year and I did not want to be two generations behind. I used a digital optical coax-to-analog RCA converter to connect to my old stereo, which is great for sports and movies. If you do the same, remember to turn down the stereo volume before switching to other sources because TV output is low. The remote is similar to a FireTV remote but surprisingly clever after your set up your home page navigation. I use an over-the-air HD antenna for Live TV and FireTV 4K stick to stream YoutubeTV and Netflix. SamsungTV streaming channels are also a nice bonus, and because I now use the YoutubeTV app downloaded to my home page (Netflix is preinstalled), I don't really need the FireTV stick. The back button is key to watching two games near simultaneously. Built-in Apple AirPlay allows for TV and iPhone displays to be side-by-side to truly watch two games, if desired. Another source button on the remote would help. With two other smart TV's in the house, I do get confused how each TV operates but after a month, I really like this purchase and it's becoming my preferred TV in the house.

I have had the tv for a month. This replaces a 40 inch Samsung from 2017. 43 inches is the largest that will fit in my bookcase so, perfect. Picture in Normal setting is brighter than previous tv. Satisfyingly so. Colors are clear and movement is natural. We view straight on so no opinion about edge effects. Sound is a weakness as with most ultra slim televisions. I had to put sound at 60-70 for normal listening then went into sound settings and selected Amplify and then Expert settings and found another setting that brought the "normal" level sound down to 35-40 (of 100). There is a manual control function on the bottom of the case on the lower right as seen from viewer. In case power, sound or channel must be done without the remote. I also found the SmartHub app for my phone and it works what the tv works, which is everything except the channels: tiles, streaming selections, mute, volume, power. I am connected to a Spectrum DVR box so assume channels must be controlled by the Spectrum remote. For those who stream only, no cable or satellite, please let me know if that is so. The remote has Netflix, Prime, and TVPlus on the face so no need to go to the Home screen to access those choices. We sometimes use bluetooth headphones and on startup after headphone use I must click "No Headphone" dialog box, the most minor of inconveniences.
Geek Squad delivered and installed and set up. Also moved my previous tv into bedroom and arranged for streaming only on that set. Old bedroom non-streaming tv he carried upstairs for me to decide how to use later, maybe with antenna, maybe a donation. Geek Squad installer was great, worth the money.

I have bought two of these televisions. The picture is wonderful. The sales associate was super helpful. The remote is solar charged. Connects to my smart apps easily. Setup was a breeze. I have not had any issues. The televisions are extremely lightweight. I placed mine in an entertainment center but it could easily be mounted on the wall.

Well it's larger than my 32" QLED. That means I get to better experience of 4K TV. I also like the new remote. But, be aware the remote can auto pair with another Samsung TV. That happened to my new remote when I set it down next to my 32" QLED. I heard the remote buzz slightly and it paired. I had to pair it back to the 43" using the "back" and "play pause" remote buttons pressed in simutaneously before all remote functions were availble again. This had to be done after the 43" had been set up in a different room.
Like others have stated, composite RCA ports should have been included for other speaker and video options.

This is a best quality HDTV with all the features one could ever ask for. This is my 2nd purchase of this Q-model. Picture quality is absolutely amazing! Easy to set up and connect to our Wi-fi immediately. I especially like Samsung's new solar powered remote! A big improvement over battery powered remotes.

The Q60A QLED is our third Samsung TV, replacing our 8 year old bedroom Samsung. While picture quality doesn’t quite match the performance of the Sony OLED in our media room, the Q60A produces good black levels for TV with a VA panel, decent brightness for a nighttime bedroom TV, and, thanks to its quantum dots, ample color, crisp 4K resolution and decent motion performance. The factory image settings yields color and contrast that’s too hot, for my eye, but after adjusting those settings, color and contrast is very natural. It has a sleek slim profile with a total thickness of just 1.57 inches. Unfortunately, that ultra slim design leaves little space for speakers. As with most panel TVs these days, a separate SoundBar is a must have for a good sound experience. It has both HDMI-ARC and Optical audio connections, but lacks old-style RCA connectors. I’m not a fan of the new slim remote design, but the traditional-type remote from the old Samsung works fine for the Q60.

I absolutely love this television. The picture is quality is a 10 of 10. It is in my kitchen and it seems that's where I spend most of my time watching . Watching TNF on Prime Video is a wonderful visual experience. The picture is so clear it makes me want to suit up a get on the field; if only I were forty years younger!

Like I wrote in the other reviews.. Great TV, excellent picture, and the user platform is awesome. The picture is excellent, the sound is good and the set up is a breeze. We replaced three old "tired" TVs this Christmas with this model in three different sizes.

The TV picture quality is excellent. It's just unfortunate that with two TVs in my room for a specific purpose, they both turn on when I use the Samsung remote. Also you have to view the pop up every time the TV is turned on for 5-10 seconds before you can view the content from an input such as a streaming stick.

Great picture and color, ease of use with devices. The remote took a little time to get used to but now now problem. We have watched some familiar movies and were amazed by the richness of the colors and the depth of black and white movies.

Good quality on the TV, but the smart features suck. It will get extremely laggy when doing something as simple as browsing through the home screen. I've found a 4K Fire Stick to have significantly better performance than the processor in this TV.

I have had a 12 year old Samsung TV that was given to me a few years ago. It had a 32 inch dial. screen and had a resolution of 720 X 480. Good color, black level, but poor sharpness.
I wasn't sure how much longer it would last, so I decided to shop around. I settled on the Samsung 43" Q60A Series QLED. It's picture sharpness is top-notch as is the color and black level.
Sound quality, on the other hand, is poor. I was told that the sound would need help. Thats true. If you buy this TV the picture is great. But you will need to connect it to a home theater reciever or a sound bar-subwoofer combo. I chose my reciever through the HDMI(ARC).
I've played standard DVD's, BluRays, Roku, and 4K media and it's all great.
For the picture alone try this TV!

We are very happy with this TV so far - the picture is crystal clear, the black levels seem good (though the TV is in a bright room, we're mostly using it at night), and it's easy to set up.
I do wish the remote were a bit more intuitive - I could not easily tell where the volume control and channel control were, and navigating the Samsung menu (we don't have it connected to cable or any other device yet) is also not obvious. Once you understand how, it's simple to use.
Sound is okay . . . I don't usually resort to using built-in TV speakers, but we don't have an option for this situation. I would definitely buy this TV again, as its picture and usability to me are fantastic for the price.
