My first Smart TV purchase and it was a great choice! Had it professionally installed as I was afraid the Smart TV might 'be smarter than a 5th grader' or me! Sound and color quality are excellent!

The picture is excellent and the sound very good. The hub presents a few featured streaming options in the lower left corner (live TV takes up the rest of the screen). This expands with more options in a hotizontal line to the right when clicked. I prefer the full hub screen of my older Samsung where I can see all options at once. The hub button does not stand out on the remote, whereas the remote for my older Samsung has a rainbow hub button, which is instantly seen without searching. Why do designers change a good remote design to a poorer one?!? Overall, the TV is quite good and a good buy.

I am more than happy with this TV. We hung it on the wall in the bedroom and installed a LG sound bar under it. It is so good that I go in the bedroom to watch TV rather than on my 65 inch Samsung smart 3D tv in the living room.

The tv works well but the "smart tv" side is a bit limited coming from using an Apple TV. Also upper left and lower right corners appear a bit brighter/lighter when showing a black screen.

Assembly is easy, it's a very light tv, the picture quality is great and sound is good for how my living room is arranged but I don't like it for a few reasons. The first is that when you turn on the tv and press the Smart Hub button, it will show the ribbon of recently used apps but if i try to select one, it says "preparing the tv, please try again later" for about 5 minutes after turning on. From what I found on other reviews, the tv is checking for updates with Samsung's server and syncing and some other stuff while loading up. When I've had the tv on for some time, if i turn off then turn it immediately back on, it's "preparing the tv" again. Even when I am NOT connected to my wifi so it is incapable of checking for updates, it's "preparing". I thought I could get into the habit of turning on the tv when I first get in from work or wherever and let it "prepare" as I'm doing other things but I couldn't. The second is an issue that seems endemic to Samsung Smart Tvs in that it is set to automatically detect a cable box or antenna signal as the default screen when it's turned on. When turned on, the tv displays a bouncing box that says "weak or no signal 1-check the antenna cable connection. 2- run auto program menu>broadcasting". So you can not set the smart hub as the default so all you get is "snow" while the thing is "preparing" or otherwise not connected to the hub or hdmi/composite connections. There IS a smart tv screen that you can select but only after you are able to access the hub itself and when you turn the tv off and on again, it resets to the snow. Might not be a big problem to some, but for someone who didn't have cable, streaming device or blu ray/dvd player for the first few days of use, the snow was just straight up unsightly. I'd rather have the old school blue screen from the 90s than the snow. The last thing is the interface of the smart hub itself. You can sort the list by name, popularity and date but you have to scroll 1 by 1 per row, not by page and it doesn't remember your place in the list. The Video section has 150 channels on it, if you scroll to the 56th channel and click on it to see its information, when you hit return, you will be back at the 1st channel, not where you left off. it's exasperating when first setting up. Again, the size, picture quality and sound was great is perfect for what I needed, I never had network issues and enjoyed what I could use but I think I'll be returning this for a non-smart tv and getting a streaming device to fulfill my entertainment needs. For things that will be repeatedly done such as powering on the tv and adding apps, the issues are too great to overlook and the overall experience is unintuitive.

This was a great tv for the price I purchased it for. The only disappointment I've had thus far is that it does have a rca connection so I have to buy a hdmi hookup.

I bought the tv on the best deal. I was very happy until I opened the tv and started using it. 1. I was not able install the tv properly because the screws given doesn't it into the grooves. 2. To one of the corner of the screen, there is certain break or something from inside, resembles to a shadow. I contacted best buy for helping me in installation of the TV, they said it would cost $100 just for them to come to fix the issue. I have contacted Samsung too and they informed it would take a month for them to come.

pros: Big size and SmartTV Bad: Picture quality

I bought this tv as part of the Black-Friday deal, it was the cheapest 50'' (48"" to be exact} Smart TV out there. I loved the big size and the Smart TV capabilities, since my last TV was a 42" Sony Bravia.....the TV has 2 HDMI ports and one USB port which is more than what I need so I'm not worried about its "lack of connections ' like in some other peoples reviews. The downpart about this TV is its picture, I don't know if its my specific TV that has a defect or what not but the picture is by no means FUL HD, i was watching a blu-ray movie and couldn't enjoy it because the blacks weren't deep enough and the colors just appeared to be faded. i wasn't enjoying at all, so I brought my old Sony Bravia out and compared he two TV's side by side by playing the same blu-ray movie on both, and of course Sony's picture quality was faaaar better than this Samsung, it was almost as i was comparing a Plasma to an LED...even though both the screens are LED 1080p. I even changed the color settings on the samsung, I had the same setting on both the TV's when comparing, but he Sony was a whole lot better than this stupid TV. I have uploaded a picture to this review that shows the comparison, you guys will be shocked when you see the difference. The Sony's screen has deeper and sharper blacks and the Colors just pop out, whereas this Samsung has faded black and faded colors. See for your selves. So i'll be returning this TV on Monday, because its stupid to sacrifice your picture quality for the big size and smart TV features. I truly think this was made specially for the Black-Friday sale. I will probably add some more money and get an Ultra HD TV.

This tv was exactly what I was looking for. Very cost effective and a Samsung Smart tv at that. Easy to install and very easy on eyes as well as light weight. The only thing I can say that would be somewhat of a negative is that when you try to go to the Smart Hub which is the section for media apps; it sometimes says it's not available. I believe the TV has to warm up a bit before that media becomes functional which can be a little of annoyance. It usually fixes itself shorty after a couple tries or two. The picture quality is great and has many features in the menu and the sound was better than I was expecting. Hope the review helps. It's a great buy & you won't be disappointed. Samsung doesn't let down.

The T.V. has great picture quality and we purchased it for a great price! I read all of the reviews before purchasing and it definitely takes a very long time to boot up the first time you set it up. (id say about an hour) It also takes a while to load the smart hub to use the smart tv capabilities every time you use it (4-5 minutes). Sometimes when i use Amazon Prime on this tv it says the device needs to update it's software (the settings are set to auto update). I have to back out and reopen it, and even then sometimes it wont work. It also seemed like the sleep timer was difficult to navigate to (selecting many options before getting there through the menu, but you can press the tools button on the remote and find it there also).
