Great purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this after having a Samsung for 7 years and could not be more satisfied. Pairing this with the Xbox one X is great for gaming. If using Wired connection streaming and other services are great but the wireless connection is not that amazing

Samsung 49” 4K TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Superb television with the usual easy Samsung set up. My only complaint (and its a small one) is the the screen has a dull finish and the other Samsung TV we have is a shiny screen finish. I think the shiny is a slightly better look.

No buttons
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the samsung tv line. Only thing I didn't like on this model is there is no buttons on the tv to control anything. Its not a problem since you can use the smart things app to control the tv.

Fantastic TV for good price
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this thinking it was something it wasnt but could not be happier with the quality and versatility. The only gripe is the new design remote is less functional or user friendly than a traditional remote.

Great picture & Sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent Set-up. Geek squad members were right on time and did an amazing job of getting everythi gvready. WE don't use the add -o nsound system for on air TV shows. The built-in speakers on the T V do an excellent job ontheir own.

Best TV Quality / Price Ratio
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been buying Samsung TVs for over 10 years--and I've never regretted a single purchase. The quality is consistently excellent and the price is always competitive. This particular model is no exception. Highly recommended.

Excellent high-def resolution.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was an open box purchase and did not get stand or manual. However TV was in excellent condition and I was mounting it on the wall, so no big deal. It was also easy find Manual on line and on screen guide was easy to follow.

Huge Disappointment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Now before anyone thinks I'm crazy giving this highly rated TV one star, please hear me out. My use case is very specific. This TV was purchased new to replace a 10 year old TV purchased at Best Buy (model Bravia KDL 46Z4100). This old TV sits in a cabinet that is 43 inch wide. Given its been 10 years, I thought it would be a good time to replace for these reasons: TVs have gotten with thinner bezels so saw a 49 inch that could fit, get smart TV features so I don't have to rely on other components for Netflix and Amazon prime, get improved picture quality. Now for my use case - the sony TV I was replacing sits in the family room where we mostly use casually for watching cable through an Xfinity box with HDMI cables. Today most cable is 1080p or 720p. After researching and finding this Samsung 49 inch was highly rated at Bestbuy.com and top in its peer group with Consumer Reports, I grabbed it in a clearance sale. The result? Huge Disappointment. First, it was not 42.9 inch wide as listed in bestbuy.com. It is a full 43 inch and therefore a very tight (almost getting stuck) fit in the cabinet. Samsung's website correctly lists at 43 inch and I should've checked there beforehand. Even Crutchfield lists this as under 43 inch wide. Second issue is that this TV is not exactly vertical once the stand is attached. The delivery guys put it together for me and I personally checked it was done right. So not sure why there is a slight (very slight) upward angle. Third problem is the viewing angle - absolutely horrible compared to my 10 year TV. As a matter of fact, many LED TVs these days have dramatically dropped in viewing angles compared to LCDs of old. I looked at few LG 37 inch 1080 TVs in some hotels and they had much much better viewing angles. The 4th and most significant reason for this bad review is that picture quality is bad. I researched online extensively to set all the picture settings manually at optimal settings. I found that there is blotchy/splotchy etches on shapes, softening on pictures, and inconsistent brightness/sharpness when a program switches from a live (like sports) to a commercial. So what's the problem? I realized after researching online that I'm not the only one seeing this. Apparently this has to do with upscaling. This Samsung along with most other TVs these days is 4K. Cable TV coming in at 1080p can't be displayed natively on 4K because of the pixel count. Upscaling is required and not all upscaling is created equal. TVs these days use different algorithms. That result could make or break a good picture regardless of your tuning saviness. This Samsung is average at best and in no comparison with my 10 year old Sony TV. Once I put the old TV back, I was relieved to see good old quality picture for cable channels. This TV is ok if you are adding to another small room and not replacing. I'm sure disc based movies will look good but that's not what I wanted this TV for. I"m glad I returned. To end on a positive note, Samsung has not totally lost my business. I recently bought a Samsung QLED 65 inch Q8FN, along with a Samsung soundbar N850. That is for my home theater and I'm blown away.

This Samsung television lives up to the reviews
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Thus far, I have no complaints with this product. It was a gift to family and after reading numerous reviews, I opted to purchase it. Love that the television stand is nicer/ an upgrade to the previous Samsung model.
