Great TV, especially for the price. You're getting great smart features, very low input lag for gaming, beautiful Q color. Unfortunately, no Dolby Vision support (it's Samsung after all) and local dimming is not very good so you'll have less than deep blacks. Still, I would've kept it had I known only the 49in version lacks a 120hz refresh rate panel, thus stripping the Q6 from it's best gaming features like the variable refresh rate and the awesome judder reduction/motion technology that Samsung is well known for.

Let me tell you, this amazing 4K QLED TV has the best crystal clear images, I was shocked at how great the speakers on this TV sounds. HDR feature makes it super better with the details on picture and the lighting. Easy to set up, easy to connect it to Wi-Fi and the Ethernet Cable ( in case your modem is close by and don't want to deal with the interner lag). The TV will recognize any device you connect to it. It recognized my Xbox One S in seconds and changed the settings automatically to Game Mode which is mind blowing !!! Also, really easy to connect my new Samsung Galaxy Ear Buds via Bluetooth with this TV. I'm on my way on getting another 4K TV at Best Buy next week, Black Friday deals are more than decent, don't want to wait in line for Nov. 28 and find the TV shelves empty when I can get one at the same price right now. Thanks Samsung, you guys make the best Tv's in the whole wide Universe !!!!! Cheers mates !!!!

This 49’” tv was a very good buy. I paid $699 during Black Friday 2018 and the picture is stunning. Bright colors are awesome and blacks are ok. I have an LG Oled and it doesn’t quite compare. However for the 49’ Q6 vs. the larger size Q6 Tvs you only get 60hz refresh rate. Not cool Samsung. Why would you name something the same if it doesn’t have the same features. There are a couple of other things that are different too so do your homework if you really need all the bells and whistles that the 55” and larger ones have. I am returning it and getting something else. However, you may enjoy it at this price point.

Prior to set-up have your password for your Samsung account and the WIFI password. Set-up is quick and easy. My first shock was that the remote control actually will operate the TV and the Spectrum cable DVR box. I was amazed. Be sure to read the one page on how to use the remote in the Quick Start manual. Picture quality (PQ) and color accuracy is excellent. The whites were a little to "hot" for me and I dropped the contrast by 5 points and the brightness a few points. Also, when watching a Blu-ray movie, tun off motion control for a more realistic video - eliminates that terrible movie like image. Have had the stet 3 weeks, replaced a 30" model in my office. Love the set. My only slightly negative comment is on movies with a lot of snow, the white is really too bright. Try using Movie mode to reduce the brightness. Highly recommended.

There are bigger ones out there and more expensive ones but I find nothing lacking in this TV. The picture is impressive with an HDR source but it also does a very good job of upscalling 1080 sources and not too bad at old low resolution BW movies. When I first got the TV I had some problems with the remote, Either updates fixed the issues or I figured out how to use it. Regardless the remote is easier to use it. The TV/remote does well with an external Roku box.

Fantastic TV at this price. You can be a visual snob and find something wrong with any TV. Technology has made it to the point that TV's can be to bright. (night time watching) I am bios to a 5.1 or 7.2 AV audio source so I personally feel judging a TV based off audio output is useless, but decoding is important to me and I feel this model falls short in that department. There is a sweet spot for optimum color quality. Not the best for angled viewing. With the right signal the picture is great. The ability of TV's has surpassed broadcasting. Processor function, speed and logical structure is a lot better then the 8 series nanocrystal quad core. Controller take getting use to but grows on you. This is a review from a committed Samsung purchaser. Samsung Products Owned Counter top depth fridge, dishwasher, convection oven, cell phones, hw700 receiver, 4 Blu-ray players, sound bar, r7's,3 m5's, two 32" tv's (computer monitors), 8000 55" SUHD TV and 49" Q led , probably forgetting something.....

Great Picture and a Cord Cutters Dream

The picture is great - no doubt. But there are a million reviews you can read about that. What absolutely is the hidden gem of this TV is the FANTASTIC remote control and QUICK switching between apps. The remote is minimalistic in appearance, so I was skeptical that it could do everything I wanted. My concerns were put to rest immediately. The remote gives me every capability that my Comcast remote has, so I lose nothing there. So no more dual remotes, one for Comcast and one for streaming apps. FINALLY ONE REMOTE TO RULE THEM ALL. Also, and this is a biggie - switching between Comcast, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video is absolutely instantaneous. If you are a cord cutter you can blast between streaming apps nearly as quickly as you are used to changing TV channel. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

The TV is beautiful and looks amazing when you hang it from a wall. I upgraded from an LCD 40in samsung that I had for 10 years. The remote is small, easy enough to use. The cool thing about it is use you use it to control your xbox or ps4 if you are watching a movie. Only negative is when you pause the movie then resume it, it automatically reminds back to the beginning of the scene. I use the remote app instead. I took my time researching for this TV and the colors and brightness are hard to match. There are these ads that play if you shut off a device connected via hdmi, but other than that I can find one thing wrong with this TV.

I had the Samsung QLED 49" for a week and have been very impressed with the high contrast screen and smart features. Voice control is pretty accurate in recognizing commands. I specially like the Bluetooth capability that works with keyboard, mouse and headphones which I use often. The built-in Miracast for screen mirroring works great for streaming video from compatible tablets and phones. The price was reasonable with the Black Friday $200 discount at $699. This is the best next thing I found in lieu of spending a lot more for an OLE TV.

Great HDR, and I mean TRUE HDR... forget just 4K!! I'm 40, a movie lover, and gamer, Xbox S. Saw things I didn't see in the movie in reg 4k. Spectrum is not good, but looks a little better. Will try Direct TV soon. Con No Dolby Vision, and if u use mkv Dolby or DTS Sound on usb,,, most sound and/or video with this format wont work (which I hate). No boot... lol. No Full Array, but I have been Samsung for a while so don't notice what I'm missing. 49 is only 60hz (of 120hz), but I still think its smooth. 55 or better for 120hz, I'm loving this tv, but only day 2.

The set up was very easy, the instructions were helpful. The picture quality is amazing to say the least. A big upgrade from an LED for us and worth the money. Very vivid colors, the sound is very good without the need of a soundbar. 49" is right size for most rooms and works very well in our large family room. The price was very fair and the sales associate was helpful as well, did not try to sell us but provided a lot of information and demonstrated the many features of the TV. It has been a great purchase for us

I bought this tv to replace a 42" Sharp 1080p. The picture quality is jaw dropping in comparison. My wife and I just keep repeating, "Look at those colors!" The smart TV interface is really responsive and easy to use and has some cool features of its own. Contrary to some reviews I have read, I have had no problems having it connected to a external AV receiver via da optical cable. My one caveat is that off viewing angles > 45deg mute the colors quite a bit. But if you generally sit in front of your tv to watch it you will be impressed!
