We LOVE this big Samsung OLED monitor! It helps us be much more efficient with being able to display 3 big windows on the screen & be more productive! It is also an anti-glare screen, which is super helpful. It has been a "NO REGRET" purchase for us.

Introduction ======================== If you had the space and the budget, there'd be no reason to say no to this amazing display from the leader in OLED displays, Samsung. This new version of their 49" Odyssey G9 gaming monitor series continues to build on their already amazing curved gaming monitors. It has all the stats that gamers need at the top-tier including: up to 240hz, 0.03ms response time, G-sync, and tons of pixels (5120x1440) with amazing color and black levels thanks to Samsung's OLED expertise. Setup and Build Quality ======================== This is a big box. You will want help setting it up to make things easier and smoother. Everything is well-packed, as you'd expect and it's very logical to setup and assemble. The base is solid and sturdy which is definitely required for a screen of this size. Assemble the stand and latch it to the monitor while it's flat in the box, then lift everything out and you're ready to go! The rear of the monitor has all the connections you'll need including: HDMI in, DP in, micro HDMI in, USB-C in, and 2x USB-C out/downstream, along with power and a headphone out. This means you could de-clutter and consolidate a lot of your setup to connect your PC and console or dual PCs to use individually or split-screened. Overall Usage ======================== I immediately plugged in my Razer Blade 15 with 4060 and adjusted the Windows display resolution to 5120x1440. This is going to take some getting used to! My primary monitor before was a 43" 4K LG that was a traditional flat panel. It was nice for viewing everything I wanted but I definitely had to scan up/down/left/right to take everything in. This curved display is much shorter, but much wider. The curvature helps it feel more immersive and after a few days of usage, it was a lot more natural. I'd liken it to using two 27" QHD monitors side-by-side, but the subtle curve makes it much more appealing. Glare wasn't an issue like with previous models because there's a fine matte coating to prevent glare. I'm a OLED/burn-in worrywart so I'm glad Samsung baked in more features to protect from any OLED issues by including better thermal management, screen dimming, and a screen saver. I'm always careful with my OLED displays on monitors and laptops, so this definitely helps me worry less! I always have at least two PCs connected so swapping between them and using side-by-side mode are great! With my old LG, swapping was a very slow and cumbersome process due to the laggy response time of the remote and menu system. Here, everything is fast and easy. It's nice to know I can also connect my PS4 to a spare input and easily switch things around when needed. Pictures and photo editing looked great with super-deep blacks and possibly a touch too much saturation. Either way, things really popped and I could always double-check images on a color-corrected display. This thing is for entertainment! Media and Games ======================== Here's where this display really shines. Starting with epic movies on whatever streaming service you like, chances are you'll have a great experience. You can have a proper "lean back" experience and really enjoy the vibrant colors and deep blacks in movies. Compare watching movies on this new OLED to any other older LCD/plasma you may have in the house and you'll see new things (especially in dark scenes) that you probably missed before. This thing is seriously stunning! Onto gaming! I'm no pro-gamer, but I do love to fit in some PC gaming when I have time! I couldn't push this thing to the limit (5120x1440 @ 240hz would require a ton of GPU power), but anything I played from Cyberpunk 2077 to Diablo 4 to classics like Counterstrike all looked great and smooth, thanks to G-sync. It's important to note that not all games will support this ultrawide aspect ratio of 32:9 so it's worth checking to see what your favorite games (and your GPU!) can support. I need to test out some driving games! Another thing to note is that the vertical height of 1440 pixels felt a bit constraining to me coming from a full 4K display with 2160 vertical pixels. Initially it felt very restrictive, like I was viewing things through a narrow slit. Eventually things got more natural, and with the high quality of this display, there's no going back. Conclusion ======================== Samsung's cutting-edge OLED technology and their display expertise really come together perfectly in this new Odyssey G9. Not only is the display quality amazing and immersive, it's very user-friendly and supports great OLED-protection features to ensure your display will still look great years from now. I highly recommend this display if you have the space and budget for it!

Screen is primarily used for work, penetrations, and document review, little gaming. Is it overkill? Probably. But it’s leaps and bounds better than staring across three monitors. Comparing docs is much faster. The slightly larger 49” length changes the display format just enough over the 45” that horizontal slides. Virtual meetings and such are easier to interact. The higher resolution was an unexpected benefit. I thought I was done looking at 1080p, I work in detailed documents for 10-12 hours a day, and this is a joy to use. If there was one, minor complaint, I do use a large dock, but prefer connecting to USBs on the edge of the monitor. The USB ports are near the center; being such a large monitor, it’s impossible to use these for daily USB access. I now use the laptop’s ports. Again, very minor. Otherwise love this monitor, no problems. Recommended.

Fantastic monitor. Truly encompasses your vision. The OLED provides amazing contrast, and the matte screen really helps with glare and reflections. I've found it great for gaming and for office work. My only one minor complaint is my monitor shipped with older firmware that had a variable refresh rate (VRR) glitch. My computer wouldn't detect the monitor as g-sync compatible until I went onto the Samsung website and downloaded a firmware update to a USB drive, plugged the drive into the monitor's service port, and then manually updated the monitor firmware via a menu option.

Honestly if you work at home and have multiple monitors, this is probably a really good investment. Whilst it is a bit heavy, its my favorite monitor to date. Its fast, smooth, very fun for gaming, and if you need to have multiple apps open, it works great for that too. It takes some getting used to, but I will probably never go back to my 3 monitor set up. It is also very aesthetically pleasing and its nice not having the borders of monitors to be in the way.

It is a great monitor. While I like the glare-free and it works well, it also lowers the HDR brightness and this model lost its VESA True Black 400 certification. It IS beautiful, but not very bright compared to other QD-OLEDs. Unfortunately, there are no reviews or tests out there since this is a new product. I would say give it a try especially if you have a bright room or windows behind you. There is really zero reflection. I vastly preferred this to the G95SC or SD. I HATED the smart TV features. The pixels per inch make gaming and productivity work well. Clear fonts for everyday use great. I went from 4K to this and don't really see much difference gaming. The 3 year warranty with burn-in coverage is great!

I purchased the Samsung 49" Odyssey OLED G9 (G93SD) from Best Buy, and the entire experience was fantastic from start to finish. Initially, I had some trouble getting it to work properly with my MacBook Air, but after switching to a MacBook Pro with the M4 chip, everything came together perfectly. The moment I powered it on, I was blown away. The display quality, color accuracy, and overall clarity are nothing short of stunning. The immersive curved screen makes multitasking effortless and completely changes how I work and study. Honestly, after using this massive dual-QHD display, I can’t imagine ever going back to a smaller screen. I use the Odyssey G9 for school research, work projects, and personal tasks—and it excels in every area. Whoever says this monitor is only for gamers is absolutely wrong! It’s a powerhouse for productivity and creativity alike. My only small wish is that Samsung would improve the split-screen customization options to make multitasking even more seamless. Overall, this monitor has transformed my setup and daily workflow. Highly recommended!

Great monitor for gaming. Been using it full screen or windowed over a majority of it for different games. No issues to date. Also have been using it for work and multitasking having several windows open at once and looking at everything at the same time or turning my head slightly to read it. It is really been work changing having my outlook open to read what someone is saying in their email, word for a memo or item to respond to, and 1-2 PDFs open to review at the same time for the same project and email that had attachments on it who i am responding to.

It's God a good picture and I like the size for 3 windows across. I used it to replace dual monitors instead of getting a third. It has some problems waking up from sleep over display port when using Linux for some reason. On Windows it works fine. It is pretty hard to deal with the ports on the back due to how wide the monitor is.

Picked this up at my local store, and it’s been incredible from the moment I plugged it in. The 49” OLED screen is insanely vibrant and immersive—perfect for gaming, productivity, or even just watching content. The 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time make everything buttery smooth, and G-Sync support eliminates tearing completely. Curved design really pulls you into the action. If you’re on the fence, just get it. It’s a beast.

I’ll get right to the point. Summary: Once dialed in the colors are very good. This is by far the most responsive monitor I have ever had. Pro’s: The most effective way I can review I could do is give a couple comparisons to gauge if this type of monitor is good for you. - The 240 HZ refresh rate is very real. I have not had any issues with flickering, bad pixels, etc. - Compared to my AW3423DWF 165 HZ Alienware OLED, the 240 HZ is a very noticeable difference. Movement in games is incredible. - Compared to my 240 HZ 27” KTC fast VA panel the Samsung OLED panel is noticeably clearer. I love VA panels for work, but there is always a gaming trade off. - Once colors are tuned in this is very close in color quality to my Alienware AW3423DWF. - The 49” panel is admirable for multitasking. Text is better than I expected. Equal to AW3423DWF with a “perception adjustment” from 34” to 49” - Although I was worried about game visuals, no games I have played seem distorted. I always play in full screen - Connecting two PC’s to this is surprisingly easy and works very well. Simple monitor settings to get there - The image while using this as two monitors is flawless CONS: - No functional USB settings to control from PC. You have to use the “joy stick” OSD to get there. - Colors take some playing around with to get dialed in - A GOTCHA: Width of the screen makes the Desktop background image less enticing and skews perception. Distracts from the WOW factor this OLED has to offer while not staring at the desktop backgroun Overall I’m very happy with the purchase. But I knew what I wanted. Gaming blows me away with this monitor.

Hands down my fave monitor that ive owned, gaming is killer, oled color is amazing, and it has a great refresh rate. If you buy this monitor check out the Ares Wing monitor arm as it fits and supports this monitor perfectly. I was able to snag this montor on sale for $1,199 at best buy in June

Great screen real estate for work, great screen quality for games. I wish product pages would include pictures of the menus, it feels like an under appreciated feature to have a useful, user-friendly menu. This menu is wonderful, the input knob on the back isn’t too finicky, and for work off of my laptop, the PiP feature using two inputs is effortless. Would recommend to anyone looking to upgrade their work screens, also good for personal use and gaming. Upgrading from 2 monitors to 1 ultra-wide feels like a refreshing simplicity for cable management also.

This monitor was an excellent purchase. I replaced 2 side-by-side high quality monitors of about the same total overall size. But what a difference with no bezels between monitors. The Samsung Oled glare free is perfect. My use is mostly office productive, with a fair amount of video, but no gaming. The curved screen is very easy on the eyes (and neck). So I would highly recommend to friends and family even for non-gamers.

The Samsung 49” Odyssey OLED G9 is easily one of the most impressive monitors I’ve ever used. The combination of OLED technology with the massive 32:9 ultrawide aspect ratio makes everything—from gaming to productivity—feel next-level. Picture quality: The OLED panel delivers deep, inky blacks and incredibly vibrant colors. HDR performance is outstanding, and the contrast really makes games and movies pop. The 240Hz refresh rate and lightning-fast response time make motion look buttery smooth, especially in fast-paced games. Design & build: The curved 49” display is both immersive and stylish. The build quality feels premium, and the rear CoreSync lighting adds a nice futuristic touch without being distracting. Productivity: If you work with multiple windows or creative applications, the extra horizontal space is a game-changer. It effectively replaces a dual-monitor setup with a seamless, bezel-free experience. Gaming: This monitor shines brightest here. The immersion is unreal, and the OLED panel brings out details you just don’t see on standard displays. VRR support and low input lag make it perfect for competitive play as well. Overall: The Odyssey OLED G9 isn’t just a monitor—it’s an experience. If you want the best combination of size, speed, and image quality in an ultrawide display, this is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended.
