We decided to get a new washer after our old one stopped washing clothes as well as it used to. After weeks of research we decided to get this washer. We are coming from a small 3.6 cu ft too load so this 5.0 was magical for us. There are 2 adults. I am pretty tall so all of my clothes are huge compared to everyone else's, and 3 kids. So there's always laundry to be done. With the old washer, when all of the towels are dirty it can take 3 to 4 loads of to wash all of them, and that's about an hour and a half wash time, with the new washer I can wash all the towels in 2 loads with room to spare in the second load and it only takes 46 minutes to wash on normal cycle and that's without the superspeed button. It cleans the clothes very well and haven't had any issues out of it. Due to complaints of mold and mildew smell from All other front load machines not specifically one brand over another, after all the laundry is done or done for the night we typically leave the door cracked for it to dry out. Haven't had any issues though. I tried the self clean feature one day and I am sure it works but it did take nearly 4 hours to do so. The machine is pretty quiet but there are times that it can be loud, but it's not near as bad as the old washer. Also it is very smooth operating and can hardly tell it's running if you hold your hand on it. One thing about this machines compared to the LG that I noticed from a video review on YouTube is that when they added fabric softener it always added time to the washing cycle, like 20 minutes if I am not mistaken. This machine does not have a fabric softener button and does not add time to the cycles. I thought that was a pretty big drawback to the LG that I also looked at. Anyway it was well worth every penny even at the steep cost.

    Problematic

I bought this set based on the glowing reviews from customers and CR alike. My own experience has been less than stellar. I;ve had issues with both the washer and the dryer. First the washer - a sulphur smell permeated our clothes and some could not be salvaged. I'll agree that this could have numerous causes (mainly, our water), however in using the self-clean cycle to make sure all traces of the smell were removed, we discovered that the door leaked. Multiple service trips were required and eventually the entire door was replaced. It no longer leaks. Second, the dryer - on one of the repairman's trips, I mentioned to him that the dryer would intermittently make a screeching noise. He said he knew exactly what it was, was a known problem (!!). Had to order a new rotor for the belt and then completely take apart our dryer to reinstall once it came in. It's now noisier than before, though no longer makes the screeching. And the dryer doesn't dry my clothes any more efficiently than my old first generation front loading Whirlpool Duet. Big disappointment. Not sure if I got a lemon (or two!), but this set has not lived up to my expectations. Thankfully, I got it on sale at a decent price. I'll probably get rid of this set sooner than I would normally do so just because of the issues.

This was an open box special. A few dents and scratches. It was a very good price though. After coupons and price reduction I thought I got a good machine for about 750 in total for a 1200 dollar machine. Delivery was on time. However, there was a very large dent on the side that I didn't see because it was right up against another box special that blocked my view. Still, not a big problem, since it was going to be put into a corner anyway. After everything was set up we gave it a test run. Water started pouring out of the bottom. We tipped the machine over and discovered that somewhere in the center it was leaking, needed severe repair. But here's the nasty part. The delivery man opened the water filter on the bottom and pulled out a clump of hair!!! USED MACHINE!!! I complained, obviously, and the manager, melony, seemed just as horrified as I was. She apologized and told me that Best Buy was going to do the proper thing and replace it with a new machine fresh out of the box. I thanked her and she told me she would call me the next day with a delivery date. The following morning Melony called me to inform me that Samsung won't honor a machine replacement because it's NOT their policy. If I wanted I could either get a refund or a replacement for about the same money I used on their used box special!. After a while I was able to get another machine for a small discount. Be Wary of Best buy open box specials and Samsung products!!!

This is my second front loading washer. My first was a Whirlpool that lasted 10 years. I decided on the Samsung becasue of the foam cleaning. It is the only machine I could find that turned your detergent into foam. Clothes clean really well in this washer. I do not have any vibration or noise issues as posted in other reviews. The washer has a slight shake when the spin is starting but nothing extreme or abnormal. The only reason I gave it four stars is you have to by the wifi dongle separate if you want to monitor on your hone. I don't understand why this is not built in especially for one of their top models. The door does hold a bit of water near the seal but so did my Whirlpool. It does dry quickly if you leave the door open. I find the criticisms of the second door locking unjust. Yes you have to hit pause to add items and I suppose you can open the large door but it will be much more messier than just opening the small door. It serves it's purpose. My guess is they do not want you to be able to put your hand into a running machine. I find it smart for safety and you know people do stupid things. I like the steam feature as well. There are many ways to customize your wash. I can't find anything wrong with it. The only thing I would have liked to see is a spin only cycle. I used it one or twice in the past and this machine does not have this feature. Everything else about this machine is perfect.

    Do NOT Buy

We purchased both the washer and dryer. The first day we used the washer it kept shutting off with an error code that said drum was off. The next several days included many error codes and repairs. After several weeks of similar issues they replaced the washing machine. 3 weeks later we have more error codes and the washer not working properly. The dryer was disappointing from the start. Seemed to not dry the clothes and gave us a dryer vent error code. We had the dryer vent cleaned and still have the error code. We had the dryer vent re-cleaned again. Still have the error code. Had a technician out who told us that the dryer is only drying at 50%. He had to order another part. It is a brand new machine and we demanded a new machine which they brought out to us. Today we have another error code on the washer the relates to the water supply. There is no problem with the water supply. We are demanding that Best Buy take both these machines out of our house and to never buy Samsung again. These are pieces of you know what. Spend your $2k elsewhere.

I have so many Samsung products that I should buy stock. The washer and dryer were purchased for our new house and I can honestly say the washer is the biggest disappointment, ever. It's sounds like battle worn washer that is unbalanced and the bearings are shot. Two service calls later they just dismiss it as typical of the machine and the pedestal just makes it worse. It's awful. We had a GE front loader for eight years and it was setup the same way. No issues and I regret leaving it in the old house. I can tell I will get no where on a warranty swap (bought the five year plan) and will either sell this or dump it. I still cannot believe the sounds and shaking (yes, we've run the calibration and checked the level) this machine makes are considered acceptable. Sorry, either replace it or fix it.

    misrepresented feature

If you want hot water, don't buy this washer. That was the main reason that I chose this model. It claims to have an "extra hot" water feature. The water only reaches 110 F and that is not hot enough to kill germs. I arranged for a service tech visit and the tech told me that the unit was functioning normally, and there wasn't anything to repair even though he never checked the actual water temperature. I called Samsung service department hoping that there was another solution and was told that the repair company did not find a problem so I was out of luck. They said that if I wanted to pursue the issue with another service visit, it would be at my expense, because it is not their problem. So I have an expensive washer that doesn't do what it claims to do and Samsung will not offer any further assistance. I will probably not buy any other Samsung product when I consider their recent track record of TV's, phones and top loading washers.

I waited several months before reviewing this product. Having had whirlpool and lg washers in the past I went on a whim to try new brand. I do not recommend paying the extra for the ad a wash door. In all my washers before you simply just press pause and open the door and ad. The door is just another are for dirt and hair to collect and another area to clean. The door space is small. I just end up opening the main door. The touch pad is not very sensitive and takes several taps for the Temperature to move. The cleaning power does not come anywhere near what my whirlpool top loader or lg front washer did. I haven't changed any detergent just washers. I have kids in sports and baby clothes and all seem to have set in stains. The deep steam cycle is nothing to brag about.

We chose to get this Washer and the 6500 Dryer, which is about $300 cheaper than matching 7500 Dryer (they both look exactly the same) and only a few differences. The washer has the Powerfoam feature which is amazing. Cleans way better than our old top loader. Clothes are just barely damp when they come out meaning your Dryer has to do less work too. The Add Wash door isn't really that cool, because you still have to pause your washer like any other side load and can still open the full door like every other side load, so nothing innovative here. Just a great Washer with a huge tub. We have family of 5 and it has cut laundry down quite a bit with as much we can do at once now.

It's been 8+ months that we have been using this washer & so far no major issue to report, things are going smoothly. The various washing options available are very handy when deciding what to do. It's very user friendly. Not too much loud either when in operation. However while trying to wash rugs couple of times it did tripped the fuse, with the door locked in the process. Called Geek Squad the first time & they said the board might got toasted due to too much power going through & needs replacement, they shipped replacement board as well. But after talking to friends who do have Samsung washers I figured out that the fuse connected to the washer got tripped in fact. Why the washer sucked so much power that tripped the fuse is something a concern for a very heavy load (when this model is expected to handle heavy loads) - hence my 4 star rating. But overall a good product to invest your money.

    Good Washer but NOT Smart

The washer itself is actually pretty good and it may seem unfair to rate it as low as I did for the fact that the smart feature has been pretty much useless to me, but please keep in mind, that feature alone is what drove me to purchase this unit. There was quite a premium for that feature as well, and I'm extremely disappointed in it. Let me elaborate on the issues. First, its not very clear that you have to purchase a wifi adapter for this device to get online. An additional $25 later and this unit will still not connect to Samsung's terrible excuse of a smart app, Smart Home. The dryer sitting right next to it can at least see the network, the washer...nothing. Bottom line is, if you want to see how smart this device will be, simply look at the reviews of Samsung's app Smart Home. Until that improves, spending the extra money on this smart feature is money down the drain.

We owned a previous Samsung washer for 8 years and like the brand. We left older washer with buyer of old house. We liked the look and size of this washer from the start. The black finish looks great and wipes away easy and doesn't show finger prints like normal stainless products. Functionally the washer has worked great for the first two months of ownership. Clothes come out very clean and you can tell that the washer does use less water and a high spin since clothes come out only a little damp prior to drying. The washer is plenty big to wash a large load and likely a bed comforter but we haven't tried that yet. Large towel loads work great and no balance or noise issues. The VRT+ works great and is quiet enough to do laundry later at night while kids are sleeping. We have used the add wash feature a few times and works great after you pause the washer as other reviews have noted. Great product, would highly recommend.

This is my first washer I've ever bought and so far it has exceeded my expectations. Have not had any problems since owning it. I have yet to use all the functions unfortunately. The door I've rarely used since I don't have a tendency to forget anything yet. The one downside is, my inner child hates that I can't see through the door! Lastly, coming from using on site washers and dryers, there's so much space! I can fit my usual loads with plenty of room to spare! Do avoid buying the USB dongle for WiFi connectivity, in my honest opinion it is useless since you have to be in person to put it into smart mode so that you can use it from your app. It does allow you to monitor when you're away from home if you need something like that.

Addwash door is a joke; Good size/operation

Samsung focuses their marketing efforts for this washer on the Addwash door. If you look up the manual on their web site, you'll find that door can only be opened when the washer is paused. That means if you want to add a forgotten item, you could just open the main door like on every other washer. The only thing the AddWash door gives you is slightly fewer drops of water on the floor when you open it. It is big enough to stuff a T shirt through but good luck with a larger item. Removed one start for this useless, but heavily marketed feature. A thick king-sized comforter fills the entire bin, but the Bedding mode did a good job of washing it. Large loads also work well.

      Hi AV695,
We’re glad to hear your new WF50K7500 is working and cleaning well! While you’re correct that the doors on most Samsung models do have the ability to be opened during the cycle when the Washer is paused, the AddWash door opens quickly and helps to prevent both water and clothes from falling out, at any point during the wash cycle. Also, the AddWash door may look small, but you can, in fact, fit a variety of items through it (shirts, jeans, socks- even sheets and towels).
Thanks so much for taking the time to offer feedback; we really appreciate you and your business! ^shelby Samsung

I've had great luck with this washer so far. We've had it for about a month and it is very quiet, it does a good job of washing clothes, and it is pretty quick too. Using Tide pods for detergent is what we normally do and we have had a couple of the pods not completely dissolve and/or they get stuck to a garment but we also had that issue when we went to the laundromat and used their washers so it is not anything different. Even if the pods don't completely dissolve or gets stuck to a garment, the rest of the clothes get very clean and the undissolved pod will dissolve the rest of the way if you put it through the washer again. Overall I am very happy with this washer and am waiting for the release of the Samsung home adapter so it can connect to the wifi so we can monitor the status of the washer.

We purchased this front loader to replace a LG top loader. We ordered the washer with the pedestal. Upon delivery the pedestal was crushed so we had to have another delivery setup. The washing machine didn't last a week before it started having a burning smell and started shaking and walking across the laundry room. Had a replacement sent out of the same washer. Best Buy replaced the pedestal and the washing machine. The new pedestal showed up with broken clips so they had to take the clips off the original and put on the new one. The 2nd washing machine started doing the same thing after only 7 loads of laundry. So we sent it back and replaced it with a top loader and months later its still doing fine. Bottom line is 2 washers and pedestals with something wrong with all 4.

We have had this set in this finish for about 5 months. We replaced an old top loader and I had no idea how much cleaner our laundry could be until we got these! I love all of the cycle options and am really happy with the overall function. I took a star away because the finish is extremely delicate. I had set an empty plastic laundry basket on top absentmindedly and it scratched the heck out of the top. There are several scratches on the machines that I can't even tell you how they got there because we haven't done anything you would expect to cause them. I'm frustrated with how easily they scratch because I expected better durability for the price. If I didn't love everything else about them, I would return because it is honestly that much of an issue. I worry to think what they will look like in a couple years. Maybe the other finishes are more durable?

We looked at several washers and read reviews from all the big box stores and this one stood out with it's innovative little front door for when you forget something after you've started the wash, steam features, and quietness of operation. We opted to not purchase the pedestal as we've currently got pedestals under our street and the washer we're replacing and don't feel the need for them. The only quirk I have is the silly music it plays at the cycle's end, but I'm sure I can turn it off of I read the manual or search online long enough. It's not bothersome nor loud, I just don't like the tune. We opted for the metallic color as our existing washer is white and we were tired of the plain Jane color. No regrets here. Just wish Best Buy delivered to us, but we are 45 minutes from the nearest store.

I got a great deal plus great zero interest financing so NOT purchasing these would have been really dumb. My old set was more that 20 years old and worked fine, but were not energy or water efficient. We were making other energy efficient upgrades in our home and this made sense for us. I had been wanting the steam function for quite awhile. The pair is so easy to use and I love the options. We switched to a gas dryer and are very happy with the time to dry our clothes. Love having the pedestals! Keeps things so much neater in the laundry room and saves our back from bending over to grab things out of the units. Extremely happy with our purchase! Now to see if they last as long as our old Sears Kenmore pair (which I gave to a niece who needed them).

We purchased this new washer to replace our 7 year old Samsung. We loved our old machine and wanted to stick with Samsung. First off this washer does a very good job washing clothes so that is a big positive. However, I really worry about the longevity of this new washer as the build quality is just not up to par with the older Samsung it replaces. Also our large purchase was really ruined by the very poor customer service from BestBuy. As long time customers we were really disappointed in the lack of any follow ups to our concerns and attempts to contact them due to problems with delivery and set up. There online customer service email is a joke! Three attempts to contact them and never a response! So our overall rating is 4 stars for the washer and just 1 star for BestBuy! We will shop elsewhere in the future.
