But I got a nice system for under 1k. Pro tip: to adjust the volume of the sold seperately rear speaker set, hit sound mode until rear speakers appears..then select up or down on the remote "ring" to increase or decrease the volume. Samsung did not have these instructions anywhere on their site. Hope it helps

But modern flat screen TVs have some of the most atrocious audio capabilities you can imagine. So we bought this kit to make our TV more audible, and it does a great job in a smaller room (10' x 11'). It's HDMI-CEC capable, so you can likely control it with your TV remote as well.

This unit has a middle speaker to increase clarity during talking. My wife and I now can hear the program and background sounds for a much better listening experience (with out having to constantly change the volume.)
