I purchased this soundbar to compliment my Samsung QLED TV. I had originally purchased the 450 series soundbar but returned it after reading negative reviews on it. I am glad I got the 550 series and it exceeds my expectations. The panoramic system works perfectly and fills my entire room with sound.

Price for performance aspect of this sound bar is a 10/10, Yeah its not no crazy Dolby Atmos sound system but for your average home theater setup it gets the job done, side fire speakers make sound bounce off the walls and immerses you in the movies or games you will be playing or watching.

Overall not bad but for some reason it seemed to have more power and a “surround” sound at the store than in our house. Would still like to add rear speakers to give it that engulfed feeling like we used to have with our older surround sound system.

      Franzini:

Thank you for purchasing this Samsung HW-N650 Soundbar System. I am sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with its low volume.

Please check the connection between the Soundbar and other source devices, and try the following tips that may help improve the volume level.
      1. Check the source volume. For example, if connected to a mobile phone using Bluetooth, increase the volume on the mobile phone.
      2. If the Soundbar is connected to a TV thru HDMI, make sure to use the HDMI-ARC jack on the TV and select “External speakers” as the TV sound output.
      3. Then check the TV for the audio output format sent to the Soundbar. Typical options are PCM, Dolby Digital, and Bitstream. Select the option that optimizes the sound from your source.
      4. Change the SOUND MODE on the Soundbar by using the Soundbar’s remote. Select the appropriate mode for the individual room acoustics.
      5. Turn on Dynamic Range Control. This is done by pressing and holding the SOUND MODE button on the remote control while the Soundbar is in standby mode.

I hope these tips help to enhance your audio enjoyment.

    Huge improvement over 2.1 soundbar

I bought this 5.1 soundbar as a replacement for my 2.1 soundbar that was 8 years old and died. Originally I planned to buy the same, but after comparing side by side in Best Buy, the difference was shocking. Sound separation rivals separate speaker systems. We are so pleased with the upgrade.

Another great product by Samsung recently upgraded to this sound bar I love that it is wireless and comes in one piece. Last sound bar could be two pieces which just means there is hardware you could lose when broken down. This is a great upgrade for the sound convenience and practicality.

I purchased this sound bar for my friend on Black Friday for $279. The sound that is put out by this sound bar is incredible for the price. The separation from center and left and right channels is amazing for such a small soundbar and the bass is really good for such a small sub woofer.

I had to return this. I had very high hopes for it, but it was very underwhelming for the price. I try so many different settings and configurations, but the volume was always low, subwoofer underperformed, not the booming sound I hoped for to somewhat replicate a real theater system. I was able to spend about $100 less on another 5.1 channel system (including sub and 2 rear speakers) and the sound is much more powerful, crisp, much better overall experience. My dad purchased this too and had the same problems. I don't recommend.

This was a great purchase. Caught it on sale and glad I bought. You have to tweak your settings to make sure you’re getting the best audio but once you do you’ll be loving this product. Feel sorry for the ones who say this sucks and took it back. I haven’t had any reservations air issues with mine.

sound bar is ok. the sound is not as great as we thought it would be with our new top of the line Samsung tv. hooking it up was not as easy as the directions said. the main issue was using the new clicker. it is completely different than all of our current or previous ones. hard to pair up with tv.

When first hooked up sound was marginal. Geek squad came out and tweeted it all that was possible. Since then I have had the same problems as at first. Thought system had rear speakers as vizio 5.1 has. Does not. Only sound bar and subwoofer.

This thing is very easy to install and setup in less than 5 minutes. Subwoofer packs a punch for as small as it is. Giving this 4 stars because there is no true balance to the soundbar. The treble is just not enough from the bar itself, I highly advise adding a couple more speakers for better sound.

Allows for many different inputs and works as pass through for 4K. Works just fine with Xbox One S. The bass of the subwoofer isn’t overpowering. It works well together. Alone, the sound could be better but when paired with the Insignia Rear Speaker Kit, the sound truly does fill up any space.

I like the soundbar a lot, it’s great for the price. I also bought surround sound speakers that came bundled with it, however the Best Buy staff sold me the wrong surround sound speakers set and it took hours to get them returned and find a set that I could walk out the store knowing would work.

This soundbar is very good, not amazing but very good. Can’t really beat the price for a soundbar this size but I am longing for a little more surround sound like the product claims to be able to do. It’s not poor, it’s not average, it’s good. But it’s not amazing like I was lead to believe.
