      Steve:

Thank you for purchasing this Samsung HW-N650 Soundbar System. I am sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with its low volume.

Please check the connection between the Soundbar and other source devices, and try the following tips that may help improve the volume level.

      1. Check the source volume. For example, if connected to a mobile phone using Bluetooth, increase the volume on the mobile phone.
      2. If the Soundbar is connected to a TV thru HDMI, make sure to use the HDMI-ARC jack on the TV and select “External speakers” as the TV sound output.
      3. Then check the TV for the audio output format sent to the Soundbar. Typical options are PCM, Dolby Digital, and Bitstream. Select the option that optimizes the sound from your source.
      4. Change the SOUND MODE on the Soundbar by using the Soundbar’s remote. Select the appropriate mode for the individual room acoustics.
      5. Turn on Dynamic Range Control. This is done by pressing and holding the SOUND MODE button on the remote control while the Soundbar is in standby mode.

I hope these tips help to enhance your audio enjoyment.

I bought a 65" QLED Samsung tv. I got this sound bar thinking it would create a better sound, surround sound and voice clarity. It has accomplished NONE of these. I cannot get the voice and the tv to synchronize. It looks like I'm watching a bad foreign film. I have attempted to correct this problem to no avail. When connecting a receiver to the sound bar via HDMI, I was unable to get the sound to play thru, using the radio as a source of audio. The sound coming out of the TV sounds better than the sound the bar produces. This is absolutely a waste of my money.

When I first heard that this is a 'gaming' soundbar I didn't know what to expect, I didn't know if it would be a gaming "optimized" accessory with horrible sound quality. However, I was pleasantly surprised with everything about this soundbar. It sounds amazing in every way, surprisingly without overwhelming bass. There are three sound modes, Standard, Gaming, and Surround. I couldn't find a difference between 'gaming' and 'standard' but the surround mode gives perfect positional accuracy while keeping the same amazing sound quality. Finally to the design. The exterior of this soundbar/woofer combo is very nice and premium. The outside is mostly metal with a metal mesh on the front, and same with the woofer. There is a remote in the box that closely resembles a Samsung Smart TV remote which gives you control of all of the sound settings as well as volume of the soundbar and woofer separately. But if you so happen to lose that remote, there are buttons on the side of the soundbar with all of the same controls. There is a small display on the front right of the soundbar which lets you see what mode or setting your'e on. For connectivity there is Bluetooth, Aux, Optical, and Digital.

DO NOT BUY NOT WORTH THE PRICE, UNLESS IT’S ONLY $50. This product has good quality mids and highs, the bass is disappointing for the size and power. Easy to set up and control from my Samsung QLED 65”. The main problem is that the 40W internal speakers on my TV work better, not quite as much bass but louder overall. I returned the next day and bought a wall mount instead.

I found very little bass response at all. Even with the sub set to +6 using all sound modes. The surround caused audio to be more muddied. If you want night frequency sounds, like listening to a laptop speaker, that’s what it sounded like. My Samsung TV speakers sounded better. I returned after a couple of days adjusting the settings and moving the sub around the room. Upon returning, the sales Rep indicated that Samsung has had issues with sound, in particular bass and LG is much better. So I purchased an LG bar for 1/3 the price that sounds much better.

The Samsung HW-N650 Soundbar was working great for about 1.5 years, then it just stopped. Tried reset, different connections, including Bluetooth. All said that they were connected, but no sound. Samsung does not repair soundbars in Sacramento area. Best Buy will only repair it IF you purchased the extended service. The local service places will not touch Samsung products because Samsung will not sell the replacement parts to them. Don't purchase soundbars made by Samsung.

The Samsung N650 soundbar has more or less everything you would expect from a soundbar at this price range. It produces nice, crisp, and quality sound over a wide dynamic range. In addition to that, it offers the listener multiple choices to enjoy their media and really does add to your TV viewing experience over the default speakers. For starters, I would like to point out what I liked with this soundbar. The setup was very simple, and the step-by-step instructions provided in the manual included pictures to follow along. There are provided wall mounts for the sound bar if that is the option you choose. Overall, I was up and running within 10 minutes. The highlight of this soundbar is the Gaming mode, which seems to amplify the surround sound and increase the immersion to the games. I noticed this especially when playing Monster Hunter World on the PS4, where the forest noises were louder and I was able to hear the distant monsters. It seems that this setting was really useful to games that utilized surround sound, but less so for those that don't, such as Persona 5. There are a couple of settings you can tweak to adjust the audio, such as treble, bass, and audio sync. However, that seems to be the extent of what you can do. There were a couple things that I found somewhat disappointing. Before I continue, I acknowledge that this is a soundbar and it has its limitations. That being said, the surround sound produced is no where near the quality of an actual surround sound setup. You won't feel like you're hearing footsteps behind you. In reality, it is more of a 3.1 setup, with the center and front speakers with a subwoofer. However, that can be remedied with the wireless back speakers sold separately. Another thing I noticed was that the subwoofer was a little lack luster. It seemed to be unable to hit the really low frequencies, and it certainly won't make your seat rumble. While it can go quite loud, it just wasn't the satisfying loud that I would have liked. Instead of the low rumble you would expect, you would get a slightly washed out, and slightly higher pitched bass. Overall, I liked it. It's good enough for me to enjoy a nice action film, and play some intense games. If I needed a bluetooth speaker, I can connect to it without needing to turn on the TV. It's great for what it is, and I would certainly recommend this product.
