Amazing sound for a great price

    Posted .

I used to have a custom home with a built-in surround sound. Watching movies was AMAZING! When I sold that house I missed the great sound and thought I would need another custom installed system to get that again. Not so! This sound is deep and rich. The woofer gives you that "movie theater" feeling in your chest when there are explosions and other loud sounds. Set up was fairly easy. I did have to use some of the styrofoam from the package to raise my TV up behind the soundbar. I put the (wireless) woofer on the floor. Be sure you have outlets as both items do need power. You can connect the soundbar by HDMI (as I chose) or I do believe there is a wireless io connect but I opted for the included HDMI cable. I am an "over-50" woman and had no trouble setting these up (I did have to go into the settings on the TV and make one adjustment to the output). This soundbar and woofer is a great way to add movie-style sound to your home theatre experience. And since we are all staying home to watch movies these days, why not indulge?

This suround sound system was the best purchase I made in 2020! It allows me to hear surround sound when playing any device connected to my television! My previous system only allowed this if I played DVDs or CDs! I really looked like I did my homework and up on technology! I also got a great deal because of Cyber Monday! Thank you Best Buy!

This sound bar system is awesome! The sound quality is great, the bass and the brightness is also really good, I was going to buy the additional speakers, but the bar and the subwoofer stand by itself, the surrounding mode gets you immerse on the movies and the music, it's really a great product with awesome connectivity options for additional Bluetooth connections.

    Better than internal TV speakers

Look... I bought a tv above the $1200 price point and I just couldn’t justify using only the tv speakers. Best Buy guy said this sound bar was new and it was on sale so I thought why not. Currently I’m struggling at the high end for voices. Weirdly, when voices go really high or like change pitches fast the sound bar makes this awful noise - almost like it can’t handle the frequency. I ended up switching off the 5.1 support on my Apple TV and am now just using stereo with ARC. Haven’t heard the awful sound as much, but it still comes up every now and then in dialogue. Might try switching HDMI cables to higher end ones. But people that say, “there’s no bass” or “not loud enough” I just can’t understand. They have to be hard of hearing haha. I have a lofted apartment (16 ft ceilings and obviously the open loft) and I can hear this sound bar very CLEARLY and with tons of bass. Seriously don’t understand people that say that.

Big sound for music and movies

Got a big discount by purchasing an open box TV and spent some of the savings on this soundbar and subwoofer combination. I wasn't able to bring home the big television right away due to its size and not having access to a truck immediately. Therefore I was able to bring home this new soundbar and play around with it for a week before I could arrange to transport the new TV. Out of the box the soundbar was easy to set up. The manual was easy enough to follow and in no time I had paired my Samsung S7 phone to the sound bar and I was able to fill my home with music. The highs are clean and the woofer kicks out the bass notes. I the remote is simple to use and changing listening modes depending on the song or genre is easy. Once the Samsung Q90T TV arrived connecting the sound bar via the supplied HMDI cable (ARC) was simple. Many people say go with an optical connection or just go wireless but, I decided to use the hardware that came with it. If I ever have problems with the ARC connection I know I have two other options that other reviews say are easy to connect or seamlessly pair with and the issue will be solved. I love that I have so many options with Samsung equipment. Now for the good stuff.... Movies! Sci-Fi, Action flicks, music videos, etc. This is why you purchase a good soundbar. This is a definitive upgrade over the internal speakers of the Q90T TV. The dialog is clear, and great separation of high and low sounds. Action movies are better as the floor rumbles and explosions boom with subwoofer (adjust the bass to full). The neighbors don't complain about the noise since they are usually at my place enjoying the show. I do tone it down late at night and in the early morning but the sound bar is clear and crisp at low levels as well. Very happy with my purchase of this sounbar and subwoofer combination. The fact that I received a discount on top of it during a summer sale promotion just seals the deal for me. The performance of this item in the space I have placed it is very satisfactory. Samsung products pair effortlessly and I couldn't be happier about the easy of use and performance of this product.

The best device for games and movies

    Posted .

I've been using this sound bar for a few days. I've tested it on video games, movies and sports as well. Definitely the best sound vs my previous speakers. I had a few before. 7 speakers sound bar is perfect for video games. 51 / 5000 Translation results. The sound goes perfectly through all the speakers. It's very intelligent - the number of working speakers is selected according to the sound. Many choices included, for example bass booster, game, movie, etc. You do not need to adjust the sound by yourself. Subwoofer has amazing deep bass, perfect for games and movies. Very Cool remote control. The sound bar is turned on automatically with the tv. Very easy to connect with many choices, including hdmi and bluetooth. Sound bar and subwoofer are not connected each other by wire, this is very nice. Definitely recommend this product for all customers. No matter what kind of users you are, will be definitely satisfied.

Great Sound Bar Quality, Verify listed Items !!!

    Posted .

I Like the design and shape of the sound bar and sub-woofer. Unit comes with all required things except digital optical audio cable. It comes with HDMI cable, Power input plugs for both woofer and bar and wall mount plates. Let me jump straight way jump into review and quality which are more important. I liked the sound quality and output of bar, but not happy with woofer beats, at one point i had a doubt that is sub woofer working or not. for me ID SET between woofer and bar did not happen automatically, i had to do manually. I tried all the sound modes, i think surround sound is good compared to others, other modes also good just saying, I liked the sound quality. Big Minus items which made me to give 2 STARS. 1) Remote volume button malfunction - I can increase the volume with remote, If i press volume button it is muting the bar, I tried number of times to check, i ended up operating directly on the bar. 2) HDMI Audio connection to TV, did not work, I checked and spend minimum 15 mins, I did the right connections but still some how it was not working for me. I ended up using optical cable and which works good. But no digital optical cable provided with the sound bar. Make sure you verify above two things after you purchase or before purchase.Remote is critical thing for sure. I will recommend this product only if remote works properly otherwise i will not recommend. Sound quality wise i am OK with it. Please see the attached videos you will know better.

Thank you for purchasing the HW-Q60T Soundbar. Rocking the VOL button forward or backward adjusts the volume. Pressing it in will Mute. Pressing it a second time will Unmute.

If you would like to connect via HDMI to TV (eARC/ARC), please check the following:

      1) Check whether the HDMI cable is correctly connected to the ARC terminal.

      2) Connection may not be possible due to the connected external device (set-top box, game machine, etc.). Directly connect the Soundbar.

      3) HDMI-CEC may not be activated on the TV. Turn on the CEC on the TV menu. (Samsung TV: Home > Settings > General > External Device Manager > Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) ON)

Replaced a big Onkyo home theater and I honestly thought I was trading down but this thing is brilliant. It self paired to my Samsung 65 and let’s me easily pair my iPhone so I can easily push music. The ‘modes’ are quite different and I easily change between movies and sports. So much easier to use and hear nuances (I actually got up to answer the front door during a movie because it’s surround effect was so realistic I thought it was mine). Sub is awesome - Self pairs and has it’s own control on the remote which is cool. I recommend.

I have another Samsung soundbar that I paid $99.00 for on black Friday and there is ZERO difference in the sound or functionality. The bass is very sad sounding and overall it's an underwhelming product. I had to return the item because of the lack of overall Fullness of sound.

Give you TV a nice bump in sound and more!

    Posted .

If you want better audio than what your TV came with, but not wanting to rattle the walls too much, then this is it. Easy wireless setup and you can link it to bluetooth enabled devices like your phones, tablets and PCs too. You can also add wireless satellite speakers, sold separately, for an even better surround sound experience. My Samsung sound bar system integrated automatically with my Samsung 4K TV where the volume control on the TV remote also changes the volume of the sound sound bar. You can still use the dedicated remote to control the overall volume of the sound bar. The dedicated remote is used to set the bass, treble, subwoofer levels and sound modes. Overall the sound quality is very good in my opinion. Especially for watching TV shows and movies as it not only adds much better bass than my TV’s built in speakers but gives the sound better definition and makes it easier to understand dialog. (See more on that below) The 6.5 inch ported subwoofer produces bass that is pretty “tight” and not muddy. Even for low rumbles in shows and movies. Highs are clean and high mids are not harsh. There are several “sound” modes to choose from. Standard, Adaptive, Surround, Game, DTS. Standard, from what I can tell, adds no effects to the sound beyond EQ. It does allow you to boost or attenuate Bass, Treble and Subwoofer levels. I use this mode for listening to music from my TV such as SiriusXM on Dish Network or music from my phone. Think of it like listening to a component stereo system. Adaptive analyzes the sound and optimizes it for the “perfect experience”. Surround uses Samsung’s “Acoustic Beam” to create a “true” 5.1 surround sound field. The sound bar has front firing speakers and, from what I can tell on their site for this product, top firing speaks. Or is it sending the front firing through a waveguide? I think it sounds pretty good but can sound a bit odd and unnatural depending on what you are watching. Most things sound good with and a few not so much so. Game mode is supposed to enhance movement of sounds of on screen elements. I’m not a gamer so I can’t comment on its performance here. DTS (virtual 3D sound with this device) is a surround sound standard that theaters use that this device also uses to offer compatibility to sound more like a movie theater. I can’t hear any dramatic difference between it and adaptive. Setup went very easy for me following the directions of the manual that came with it. Pretty much Plug and Play. Especially if you have a Samsung TV like me. Samsung states this system is tailored for their QLED series of TV but will play well with other Samsung TVs too. The sound bar comes with a power brick and the subwoofer plugs into the wall with supplied power cable. Once you plug them into the wall you turn them on and they link up with each other. If they don't, the manual tells you how to do it manually. After you do that you will need to determine how you want to hook the system to your TV. I used the recommended connection of connecting it to my TV’s HDMI ARC port. (ARC is Audio Return Channel) This worked automatically interfacing with my Samsung TV’s Volume control. That is that the TV’s remote volume buttons worked with the sound bar without having to do anything to set it up and it come on when TV is turned on. Not only that but it also took care of other settings such as setting the HDMI audio out from PCM to Dolby Digital. Samsung’s site for this product states that the feature is compatible with Select Samsung TVs produced 2017 and later. You have other connection options too. Such as optical via a fiber optical Toslink cable and bluetooth. The manual explains how to connect them to your TV and other devices that have Bluetooth and / or an optical output. You also have options to adjust the delay of the audio so as to sync the words up to the lips. You also have the DRC (Dynamic Range Control) to keep the volume at a more constant level. See manual for details. It comes with a remote control, batteries included, to operate the sound bar. One thing to note is that the remote has 2 buttons that are also Levers for the Overall Volume and Woofer Volume. Pushing down on the Volume button Mutes it while pushing up increases the volume and pulling down lowers the volume. Pushing the Woofer button sets it to 0 (no boost) while pushing up increases the woofer’s volume and pulling down lowers the volume. There is a white (OLED?) status display in the right end of the sound bar. It’s behind the grill and looks like a scoreboard style display even though it’s not. It scrolls information Like settings and track names when using USB drives with music and shuts off after 30 seconds of no activity. Speaking of connecting other devices to your sound bar, pairing my Samsung Note 10+, Wife’s Note 9 and my Asus Zenbook to it was very easy. There’s even a pairing button on the remote control. Just follow directions in the manual to pair up devices. You can have 2 bluetooth devices active at once. I didn’t see a limit as to how many you can pair to the device. The sound bar also has a USB port for playing music files and updating its firmware. When playing music from a USB drive you use the remote control ring to skip forward, skip backward, play and pause. The status display in the right corner scrolls the song names as well as track numbers. At least with WMA files. As cheap as high capacity USB drives are, you could, theoretically, put your entire music collection on one, plug it in and leave it. Navigating it would be sequential only from what I can tell but it does have a Random setting. You hit up and down on the ring on the remote to cycle through the settings. Repeat settings and Random. Use Source on the remote to cycle through the inputs: D.in, HDMI, BT, USB. You can choose any sound mode with any source. Build quality feels solid. The sound bar can be placed in front of your TV or wall mounted with included hardware. You might need to raise the height of your TV if placed in front of it. Subwoofer has a port in the back and 6.5 inch speaker on the side that is covered in a light weight cloth. If you have a cat you will probably want to place it where the cat can’t reach it as your cat might shred it. There is no screen on the port on the back. Internal or external. Possible problem with insects depending on where you live and / or where you use the sound bar. Say a cabin in the woods, a basement area or ladybugs like I get in the fall. All things considered I would highly recommend this soundbar and subwoofer system. Especially if you have a 2017 or newer Samsung TV.

Very satisfied with product. Great price ($299 because I bundled with a smart tv). DTS Virtual is my favorite sound profile. The subwoofer is great for size, and does the job! Would highly recommend.
