This Bar has a few sound settings, including standard, surround, adaptive, and one for gaming. Standard mode leaves room to be desired. Surroubd sound is much better, and adaptive sound mode is good for movies. For the name, price and specs, I expected more robust sound, albeit the sound is very clear. Has an equilizer in settings for your personal listening pleasure. Comes with a subwoofer with Bluetooth capability. Bass goes from negative to +6 but at full blast in my small den, it is just average. That is quite a disappointment. Comes with the same type of remotes as Samsung's matching TV. It sticks and freezes sometimes, just as the TV remote does. Overall, its a good sound bar, but the subwoofer is sub par.

I've had this for a few months now and am really enjoying the quality of the sound. I normally put the audio profile on "surround" or "Doby" depending on if I'm gaming or watching movies or tv. I have found that dialogue levels can be low compared to the rest of the stuff going on in an action movie with explosions and such. Music sounds fantastic on it however. Do I think the "surround sound" technology works? Not really, at least from as long as I've had it. If you want real surround sound get Dolby Atmos or purchase the wireless rear channel speakers that work with this. But I still think if you find a good sale, it's totally worth it.

      Hi Alawah,

Thank you for purchasing the HW-Q60T and for your review. I am happy to hear you are enjoying the sound quality of your new soundbar.

To improve your dialogue experience, press the Sound Mode button on your remote control and select Adaptive Sound. In Adaptive Sound mode, the soundbar analyzes the content and volume to optimize the audio rendering resulting in clearer dialogue.

Using Dynamic Range Control (DRC). DRC lets you apply dynamic range control to Dolby Digital tracks. With DRC turned on, loud sounds will be reduced.
      1) Turn off your Soundbar.
      2) While the Soundbar is off, press and hold the Sound Mode button on the remote control for 6 seconds until you see “DRC ON” shown on the display.
      3) To turn off DRC, repeat steps 1 and 2 above.

You can also further optimize the audio performance for your specific content by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME PRO, ADAPTIVE SOUND, or DTS VIRTUAL:X.

You can further adjust TREBLE and BASS via the SOUND CONTROL button (looks like a gear symbol).

Refer to pages 22-24 of the User Manual for detailed instructions:  https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/202004/20200417163727097/HW-Q60T_ZA_FullManual_02_ENG_200219.pdf

Connecting to TV is a process, but great sound

I've had this for a about a month now. The day I got it it took me a few hours honestly pairing it to my Smart TV. I had to get help because although it can pair by Bluetooth, it was a little complex for me getting it to not turn on whenever I just wanted to watch normal TV. It was paired and every time I turned on the TV, the sound bar turned on too and then I'd have to turn it off manually but doing so just messed it up for the next time I turned on the TV. That's what happened a few days after I thought I'd paired it correctly and it just would not connect to my TV, but would to other Bluetooth devices. So we had to reset it and start over. Eventually with help we figured it out and now it has been working smoothly.

It's everything I thought it would be. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because nothing "Wow'd" me. Ample volume. I jam to music from kitchen with it and the house isn't an open floor plan with a living room 25' deep...and that's not near the max volume. It doesn't take an audiophile to instantly notice the quality difference compared to the standard tv speakers (new tv as well). Bass isn't thunderous but I didn't expect it to be. It's plenty for standard t.v. Surprised the neighbors haven't called the cops when I bluetooth C.O.D. mobile.

I bought this sound bar as a present for a family member who does not have a sound system. Setting up the soundbar was fairly straightforward. It was connected to the eARC HDMI port on the TV. Then the Apple TV was connected to the second HDMI port on the soundbar. After than enabling CEC control on the TV meant we could control volume and power ON/OFF from the Apple TV without having to us the TV or soundbar remote. However, you will still need to keep the soundbar remote handy in order to be able to switch between sound modes, or if you need to pair a device to the soundbar via Bluetooth. About ease of use. One thing I absolutely dislike about soundbars is the Interface, and this one is no different. It had a small LCD display on the right side that gives you minimal information to help you navigate through the settings. But the LCD is small and semi hidden behind the grill of the soundbar. However, this is fairly common to these devices so I am not going to be overly critical. It’s just not my cup of tea. Now for the sound. It’s good. Not great, but good. I have a 5.1.4 system at home and this soundbar just can’t compare. However, for a person that up until now all they had was their tv speakers, this is absolutely a vast improvement. I would love to see the subwoofer have more presence, but I am not sure whether this is due to my family member not setting up the subwoofer past level 1 or 2 on the soundbar, so I’m not going to ding it for that. I will say the sound is fairly clear and dialog comes through nice and crisp which is what you want. I have also listened to this soundbar playing music, and as expected the Music setting makes it sound a lot better, and the subwoofer gives it a lot more low end punch. Is this a good deal? I am not sure. At $300, I would need to see other soundbars at around the same price to compare. For myself, I would have to say no. But I am spoiled by my current (and much more high end) speaker and receiver setup that has probably costed me 4 times as much. However, the recipient of this gift really likes it, so mission accomplished. And the fact that all the cables that were needed was a power cable and 2 HDMI cables to completely set it up, is something many people will welcome, as it reduces complexity and clutter. All in all, we are satisfied with the results we have seen from this device.

      Hi fridge,

Thank you for sharing your user experience with the HW-Q60T Samsung Soundbar. Your feedback regarding this model is important to us and will be shared with our internal teams.

I am very sorry that you are not completely happy with the bass performance.

There are two adjustments that can be made to maximize bass from the soundbar and subwoofer:
      1) Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button in.

      2) Adjust the bass control by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (gear icon) on the remote control, then select BASS to increase the level. You can adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

For precise audio adjustments, you can use the 7-band frequency equalizer to optimize the sound for your room acoustics.

I have had large speaker suround systems of the 90's and have since just had big sreens right out of the box. This time upgrading from a 65" to 85" i was a little disapointed in the lack of speaker quality. I actually tried propping books up behind the bottom mounted speaker to divert the sound forward but it just wasnt quite what i was looking for in a really big TV. So back to Best Buy i went. Its important to know that in all my experience i was dumbfounded on so many brands ans options to choose from so i enlisted a sales person to quickly educate me on the differnces. Best thing i ever did. The Q60T 5.1 channel is truely a suround sound experience!

Overall I am very pleased with this Soundbar and its many features. I have it linked via Bluetooth to my Samsung Q70T 82" QLED television and with one exception it works as advertised. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is that the Q-Symphony feature doesn't work when connected as directed. I have yet to call customer service about this as the feature isn't of utmost importance but I will eventually and hope to resolve. After a month of daily use I'm still amazed at the immersive sound this small bar creates. Overall easy setup and easy to use its many features.

It sounds way better than I expected. I only purchased it a as a deal with a television. However the sound quality sad to say sounds better than my Bose that I paid triple the price. It was fairly easy to setup, 1 cord connects to the television and the subwoofer to the wall outlet. The ability to adjust the volume from smartthings on my Samsung device made it worth while. I can adjust the bass, treble and so forth with easy and the remote is not complicated like my other sound systems. When I turn on the television and the system it automatically connects . Great purchase

I purchased this soundbar and have to say that it was well worth the money that was spent. Setup was extremely simple with the provided HDMI cable but I went with an optical cable and I am impressed. Now for the good stuff. With no expectation for this item but to have better sound that what the tv provided was immediately exceeded. I got big room filling sound with very nice bass notes from the wireless subwoofer. Tv shows, movies, sports events, and music all have a more fuller sound that just can't be ignored. My purchase as far as this consumer is concerned was great from purchase, to setup, and finally enjoying the sound I didn't know I was missing in the first place.

Amazing quality sound! After setting this up on my Toshiba Fire TV I experience sound skipping issues. I did a ton of research and tried every possible fix. I even ordered a system from a competitor to see if it would be better. Ultimately I bought an Apple TV device after reading that they produced better quality sound and video and that was it! Turns out the issue was with my smart TV and this soundbar now produces flawless high quality sound. It was a no brained to stick with this system and return the other one I bought. Samsung’s sound quality proved to be far superior. I couldn’t be happier now. I have the surround speakers as well and they work great.

I'm very pleased with my purchase of this soundbar. The ease of the install was a no brainier, but I did read the instructions. The sound quality along with different sound mode features and compatible with bluetooth, HDMI, HDMI (arc) or Digital Optical connectivity to your TV is definitely a plus. I suggest that you consider this moderately priced soundbar with great sound quality for your home TV that may be 3-4 years older than 2021.

Very surprised with the sound quality for the price. After dialing it in 1-2 hours, it sounds like I’m at a movie theater. I have the subwoofer at -6, bass at -4, and treble at +2. It sounds super clean. Bass hits really low watching movies. The avengers was a great movie to configure the sound bar with. All modes sound muffled except dts virtual x. Also, with the bass set at 0, too much bass comes out of the sound bar. Taking off the bass from there, and letting the subwoofer handle the lows really improves the sound clarity.

I really like the sound bar subwoofer and speakers. It was extremely easy to set up. It also has good sound obviously not the best but you get what you pay for. I was only looking to allow myself to be able to hear the TV from further away. We use this in our bedroom this sound system we have downstairs is much more expensive.

Since I have a powerful 5.1 system in the family room which I purchased from BB 10 years ago, I never considered a puny "sound bar"... until recently. A couple months ago I wanted to put together a small sound system/dvd/bluray/flat screen in the 15'x15' spare bedroom for times when the family room was unavailable. I took a chance with the Sam HW-Q60T and the the rear speakers. I have been using this sound bar watching blurays and dvd's for over a month, now. I hate using the following worn out phrase, but I will use it here.... Awesome. The audio experience from this soundbar with the rear speakers, especially with bluray action movies is Awesome.

Okay, got this open-box for $270. At that price this surpasses my expectations and is well worth it. At full price, $550, you will be very underwhelmed. There is a big difference in performance depending on the signal coming in (Stereo, 5.1, Dolby, etc...). Now, you can be a tech wizard and understand you have the right soundbar with the right TV, but some sources (like built in tv apps) don’t always got that good sound output. During those times you’ll feel underwhelmed, however, when you do have that good audio coming through it does sound pretty dang good. Lastly, missing Dolby Atmos. Need the Q70T for that.

I’m not what you would consider a TV or music enthusiast, but this Samsung Soundbar and Woofer will make one out of you. You can hear every tone and every pitch. I purchased this to replace an older model which I gifted to my bedroom. I wanted this Soundbar and purchased it as a Christmas present to myself. I wanted to make sure that I could hear all the action and feel the excitement of the John Wick 1-3 Franchise Movies that I also gifted to myself for Christmas. This Soundbar will definitely enhance your music and movies. You feel like you’re a part of the action every time. What a difference a Samsung Soundbar makes.

The Samsung Soundbar Q60 is a great compliment for the Samsung Q80T television. J.R., Best Buy customer representative described the soundbar qualities and how it would enhance the Q80Ts sound audio range and clarity. I informed J.R. about my disappointment with previous soundbars in past years, but he explained in great detail the new advances on this Samsung soundbar. He was right, and I look forward to watching movies once a night.

This is a great soundbar, especially paired with my Samsung smart TV. It has plenty of power for my 10 x 10 living room. It would be nice if it had more adjustments, but for what I paid for it, I can't complain. It has a nice, rich sound that fills my tiny house (480 sf). I have it centered in the living room, above a window and really feel like I get a full surround sound feel. The sub is on the floor, hiding behind the couch, away from the chewers. It's really nice that it's wireless and connects without issue, even after moving it. Connected to my Samsung smart TV, I don't even need the remote.
